So you have 3 weapon systems that each require different tracking technique. Urgh.

Similar to another post but faster. It is my favorite mech and loadout right now.

I should mention the LB-10Xs have crit powers! There is a dev post somewhere that documents this.

Run this build and it kills anything 1-on-1 in very short time, with good piloting. Try to avoid LRMs, lol.

The real fun is using the speed to be where lights did not expect to find you.
You can take 2 lights and be ready for more.

Engage <300M to concentrate fire and conserve ammo. With its speed it makes for an excellent flanking machine or catching the guy who left the base late!

Don't you get cored a lot with only 48 armor in the CT?

Been playing around with this build for a while, having some great games with it.

Gauss Rifle, AC/5, 4x ML
XL 300

Pros: Highly maneuverable, Gauss great for sniping, AC/5 very intimidating to be hit by, 4x ML for close-to-medium combat, and to fend off lights.
Cons: Armor. No jump jets. Gauss-Limited long-range capabilities. Mastering AC/5 with Gauss can be difficult I suppose.

since the gauss is fairly easily replaced by a ppc + ac/5 a quick kit bash is here - tada!

Since twin ac/5 is easily replaced by an ac/10 or gauss I figure it's the midpoint meta of the ppg-er

After buying a K2 and trying ER PPC's and the standard PPC's, I really couldn't get the hang of them. Currently with endosteel, double heat sinks, and the STD 260, I'm running two LLA's in the arms, 2 MLAs, and 1 uac/5 with 90 ammo. Because I'm not blasting people with PPC's I feel like I'm not getting focus fired on nearly as much. Seems like people also really under estimate the cutting power of the large lasers as well.

When the mech heats up, I fall back on the UAC/5, and also when a section is exposed. Since the weapon plays a more secondary role, I don't mind the jam chance and its nice to have the boost when you need it. When I slap an XL in, I'll probably mount a second UAC/5. Its also worth noting you can carry a good amount of armor with this build as well.

I used to run that build, only with PPCs in the arms. 90 rounds of AC/5 was exactly enough to get through a match, if I aimed well. If I needed more, the team was almost bound to lose, anyway.

This is my K2.

ER PPC x2
AC/2 x2
XL 300

Anyway I can improve on it? I was thinking maybe I can do away with the AC/2s and add 2 medium lasers and 3 extra heat sinks. This will up the heat efficiency but I just love those AC/2s....

This is the version with the AC/2s replaced:

drop the ERPPC's for ERLLas and get some more ammo for the AC2's (gonna need it, its not uncoimmon for me to burn thru 300+ AC2 rounds in a match) but the AC2's combined with the ERPPC's will generate way to much heat.
You could try 2ERLLas and 2 AC5's

You pansies. ERPPC for life. :) I have been also enjoying 2xERLL+2xML+2xAC5. Both are based on the same concept -- using different weapons depending on the range to keep heat at bay while having as big of an alphastrike as you can.

That ERLL and AC5 combo seems interesting. I might give it a try. I guess the ERPPC's slow rate of fire is not really worth it.

If you want dual ERPPC with a good rate of fire, you need to ditch any other big weapon in favor of cooling. 2xERPPC+2xMPL+2xMG, 20DHS, no Endo Steel should do fine. It has a 45% cooling efficiency at long range.

What if I was to use the PPC instead?

Then it would probably be more effective (44% cooling efficiency). I just like to be able to really reach out and touch someone.

Yeah, just depends on how you can deal with the 90m minimum. But if you fire just PPCs, you can sustain about a minute of fire. Not too shabby at all.

Incidentally, the LB-10 build is a beast. Been trying it out a short while, and my first 1000+ damage games were on that thing.

2 builds come to mind. They're nice and simple to operate and effective.

Twin AC5s, twin Large Lasers and twin Medium Lasers make this build effective at all ranges.

Twin AC10s and quad Medium Lasers make this build flexable but a little on the hot side. Try to stay at range with your AC10 and use your lasers sparingly until you're well with in their effective range. Firing discipline is key, here.

If anybody is still reading this post, I am running this build right now:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...25b61627d327749
The Large Pulse Lasers are good far away and great for killing people with unarmored components. The Ultra AC5 provide some backup firepower and the flamer just blinds people.

After a while I just thought that that build is not interesting/fun enough so I think that I am going to run this build instead:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ed43359891fecfc\

Any suggestions?

p.s. I am surprised almost nobody even use the Lrg Pulse Lasers. It's like LBX but doesn't really have crit bonus, but is just fast enough to pump out all the damage before you lose your aim, unlike non-pulse lasers. Med pulsed lasers have the same quality, though with Lrg Pulse Lasers you can feel it more with the extra range and power.

p.p.s. (is that how you say it? p.p.s?) the FF armor really helps me with survival and I've calculated that the FF armor is worth more protection than if you use endo-steel and max the armor, except for in the legs, but then nobody really aims for the legs anyways and it's enough already. So if you do have a suggestion for me to change it to endo-steel, I hope it's worth since if you don't spend the extra tonnage on armor (which i mentioned is a bad choice) you would die fairly quickly.

wub-pult

Chainfire until betty starts screaming, should be enough heatsinks for one alpha in normal maps tho.
I used 3 LPL:s in my Quickdraw and Trebuchet 3C with great success, cant see why one more does not work in a catapult if you chainfire them and stay away from the brawls.
