now they're in the spotlight it's make or break for russ and bryan, the faces everyone will remember for making...or braking MWO.

Oh thank goodness.

With PGI long gone, we'll be able to play MW:LL until a real MechWarrior game is delivered (one day).

Surely they are not dumb enough to do that interview without thinking that they can make this dead line...this time..

You really think that they wouldn't try and do a HG on the MMLL guys if they restarted ?

and if I'm honest as far as mech warrior goes this is it, I don't think I'll bother touching another title, its battletech from now on if this folds 3029 style

What is stopping you from playing it now. Development has stopped, but the mod is still available.

Mechwarrior Online Developer Interview
What the **** have you been doing for 2.5 years

Uh building the damn game? The game hasn't even been out to the public for a year and half. Where the hell do you guys keep coming up with these extra years?

They've been laying the groundwork? Things take time, dude.

Seriously.

Otherwise everyone here bitching about how slow progress is would be doing it much faster themselves.

Funny "its a beta" excuses have turned into "development takes time" excuses.

actually the announcement for MW5 was made in 2009 and in 2011 after two years of silence they announced an Online multiplyer game using the ip... 2013...

I hate math though(you know from the standpoint of doing other peoples work), so you figure it out.

the thing is, groundwork for this game should have been done, near-ages ago. from a Business Project standpoint Groundwork should come after mapping out the "Grand Vision"

a project normally goes

1. Conceptualization
2. Planning
3. groundwork and foundation
4. implementation
5. fixes and reimplemetation

PGI says we're at step 3, but the reports are being drawn up as being at step 4 and 5... YOU CAN DO THAT, BUT YOU'RE TREADING ON VERY THIN ICE.

development shouldn't take this long, and there are no excuses

HIRE A BIGGER STAFF
GET BETTER TECHNOLOGY TO DEAL WITH YOUR PROBLEMS
REWORK YOUR PLAN
DUMP MORE MONEY INTO IT

think of what others with more skill can do with maps.

@grav i'd be wasting time trying to find the forum chats about this but community made maps was talked about a lot sometime last november so. i remember that PGI said they weren't aloud to publish community made content due to the contractual agreement they have with crytec for engine3. only permitted employees of pgi are alowed to publish content for this game and adding to the fact pgi couldn't get cryengineers to help them with this project {seriously check out the company home page via the "werehiring link down below, they're still looking for cryengine expertease!} means pgi have brought the cheapest deal they could get for the best engine they could afford.

the problem being is that they don't know how to use it {check the UI.2 history where they confess it's all a learning curve of glacial mistakes and lessons learnt for them} and that's one of the key factors in why this game's gone lack luster, small team with 0 expertease at the helm and sorting out this engine has been like moving a boulder with a straw. in that sense it has been amazing what they have been able to do but clearly they have an engine which to pgi is like a problem child {unlike SC which has the money and more importantly CRYTEK EXPERTS supervising them} and their "vision" was way over their heads.

and that concludes MWO for 2013 see ya for 2014 when it's commitments or bust time!

Development has stopped. The mod may have advantages over MW:O, but it can't improve or evolve anymore. How long would you keep playing MW:O if PGI said they would stop developing now?

Once again folks, that was their position at the time. The time being get money from fans on product sight unseen. Once they got the money from Founder's program.... ;)

They look tired and worn down. The game probably beat the {Scrap} out of them mentally. Russ needs a Mowhawk and a axe. Bryan, well he needs beer and an axe.
