Thanks to OP for linking this interesting interview.
If somehow Jordan Weissman manage to make a movie (would rock), let's hope it'll be more successful than Chris Robert's Wing Commander...
When I watched Transformers, I could only guess how great a Battletech movie could have been with those special effects..

about the mad cat, choose your poison :

When they take a fake madcat concept art, then it should be a good one :Posted Image

That's actually not a fake. That's a Catalyst (flying debris) artwork for the Madcat - Altnernate Config D, pasted on the MWO concept background.

Here is another drawing of it 2 ER PPC, 1 ER Small Laser, 2 SSRM6 (Torso Forward Firing), 2SSRM6 (Torso Rear Firing):

What the **** have you been doing for 2.5 years?

I know I know, they were working on CW but them they realised that their UI is bad so they scraped the CW work on UI 1 and started working on UI 2.
Also they focused on desining more mechs than usual(phoenix) so they can give us the grap deal.

Did anyone else just bust out laughing when the interviewer said "It's one thing to have an IP .... and blow it up like you guys have.".

Also I really hate to state the obvious, but neither Russ nor Bryan seem genuine at all in any type of personal interview scenario.

Ok ^^ too many Pro´s here, i dont know so many about the Mad Cat Variants like you.
But what i can say is, i love the old school Timberwolf (Mk1) the Mk4 on the Concept looks nice but i would take the Mk1 ^^

Actually I'm not. I showed both versions Mk1 and Mk4. Get over it. Mk4 is the official production version of the original Madcat Alt Config D. Nearly identical loadouts.

Quote

Savage Wolf (Mad Cat Mk IV) - The third Clan Sea Fox BattleMech evoking the weapons loadout and visage of the Timber Wolf, the 75-ton Savage Wolf is very similar to the original, emulating the "D" configuration.

Yea.. So if that scree shot they showed in that interview is going to be the Mad Cat, Ill be very disappointed. There is no reason why it cant be very much like the original with FD touches.

I'm not a Clan fan, but I really hope they don't ruin this one.

hell no that won't be the official madcat. because a catapults torso and legs with what looks like a cataphracts arms {one which looks upside down for gods sake} will not be clan material. clan mechs are very uniform/standardised in design sharring chassis plateforms etc. sharing freeborn technology is not the clan way! upgrading everything to create almost something new when in a fix is only just exceptable hense all the IIC varients, they were once innersphere mechs.

seriously when a news article showed alex drawing up concepts of the wolverine as a "leak" the staff confirmed this was on purpose. if this "madcat" was official a staff member would own up to it being another organised "leak"

in typical journalist fasion they did "a lot of research" to find that madcat picture
