Is it just me or is the Atlas' head hitbox enormous now?

Well, I have been seeing enemy Atlai getting their head armor stripped off several times, when normally they are untouched.

After being head shot destroyed with Gauss at 1100 meters in a DC while moving laterally at 63kph facing away, I figure 4 main choices : 1) Incredibly talented shot spotted me at range despite ECM and led perfectly curved shots

2) Incredibly lucky shots with/without splash damage

3) New hit box sizes

4) Aimbotting


I figure it could even be a couple of the above choices, but I'm really suspecting only one of them.

Well, {Scrap}. And I just bought a D-DC and was really enjoying it...As if the Atlas wasn't a big enough target already. Give it till next patch I bet. People will complain about it being too easy to kill the premier assault mech, and they will probably fix it by then.

ok so I just confirmed that the founders atlas head hitbox is much larger than it should be.

Im not sure if it affects the other atlases too, I havent tested it yet.

The next patch ?!? What game have you been playing ? Based on thier responsiveness I expect this issue to be resolved in 2-3 months. Perhaps not till Q1 2014.

I was playing in the trial mech area and noticed before the patch that the Atlas head hit box was nearly impossible to hit, even standing still and not moving unless you were above it. My guess is, they fixed that problem. It is the most easily identifiable of all the "heads" in the game.

only noticed on the founder's atlas. DDC seems normal. the founders atlas head hitbox is registering as the ENTIRE head

yep it seems to be confined to the founders atlas, but the whole head, is the head hitbox. Its absurdly easy to take them out in 1-2 hits.

Ah, yes...of course. Probably to stimulate more sales of Boar's Heads to Founders now that our preferred grinding Atlas is useless.

That was the original Atlas cockpit hitbox. Accidentally rolled back the hitboxes for the (F) variant when they put in the weapon deformation code?

I'm almost getting the feeling it's like the Phoenix Project's promise of "special geometry" for the specially designated PP variants. PGI is "doing you a favor" by making the Founder's Atlas hitboxes "special".

I will consider gettin' some Atlai head in the meantime...

I'm not sure, but before the patch my lancemate had zero issues, today for some reason (after the patch) he was headshot twice in the matter of 4 rounds, in his Atlas.. He said that this never happened before..

I also noticed that some of my shots seemed to be landing better than the previous days leading up to the patch. even on Jenners, but not Spiders..

Maybe it was just me, but something seemed different in the way I was damaging "LARGER" enemy mechs.

Someone probably grabbed the wrong model when editing. I can see something like that getting missed by QA.
