Grind, especially since us mercs r goin to get TAXED on match earnings, and it costs 18.88million c-bills for each of 12 people to start one up... THE GRIND WILL BE WORSE

taxes is OPTIONAL. this stupidity all the time. dont join a group which does things you dont like. if you get friends which tax you and you are not ok with that then maybe those are no friends?

also the grind is your only motivation to play this. if its removed the game is boring. think around one corner please.

It was a tossup between Grind, Performance (I'm on a lower end machine), and Balance.

I see content coming, so I'm fine with that for now, and HSR will get better eventually. The Grind is just nuts, where I'm unwilling to spend money on items for a build because it's just too much time to earn it back. And there are a few balance issues I'd liked fixed (heat issues and energy weapons specificaly, though the gauss mechanic can die in a fire)

I've got to side with MadTulip on cbills here. If we get what we want too quickly, the game loses all sense of progression. Cbills aren't the issue though. It's the proficiency system. Right now I'm taking time and getting all three of my Jenners to elite. I'd much prefer to be getting 3 -different- light mechs to elite though, and there lies my problem with the progression.
At the moment, to level up 1 jenner to master, you either need to play 3 different kinds of {scrap} jenner (don't get me wrong, I like jenners, but there's only so much interest you can pump from one make of mech), or you play 3 different variations of 3 different light mechs to elite, which you'll see is simply 3 times the basic grind. PGI doesn't make any more money out of me, because it's not about slots or anything buyable. I just have to grind the same mech up 3 times, and that's when we see the problem with grind.
This grind isn't about money, real or virtual. No-one wins or loses a penny, it's just ridiculously {scrapping} dull. I'm bored playing my three jenners. I want to try a Commando, or an ECM Raven, but I can't, because then I can't get anywhere else with my jenner, even with all the cbills and xp in the world.

You can buy the mechs with MC and you can convert your extra mech xp from previous mechs to gxp with MC. You can master your jenner and you don't ever have to ride a single jenner before mastering it if you don't want to.

all of these things listed are basically the massive glaring deficciencies in this game. mostly the matchmaking, as a whole the matchmaker just blows chunks of nasty nasty #*&*#$&#*. honestly i find it a total failure and cannot wait to use CW/lobbies/contracts at least then i will feel like im playing mechwarrior. also not being able to choose the map or any kind of lobby system is a total travesty simply because the matchmaker is a boring idea, its the "instant action" button.

I am a little concerned that the current heatsystem is so bad that stockloadouts are not even considered good enough to pass as trialmechs by PGI -or is there another reason that we have C(ustom)-trialmechs since launch? There need to be adjustments to the heatsystem so SH become a viable choice again. It simply makes no sense to buy most new mechs with heatsinks that do no even allow them to fire a single ML repeatedly on hot maps without overheating.

I mostly agree, but personally I am actually happy that DHS is the only option with the upgrade system as-is. I would not like the situation where if I wanted to switch between two optimal builds I'd have to pay 750kCB for SHS and then 1.5MCB for DHS again each time.

I don't use dhs on any of my mechs, because they aren't needed. My Awesome has enough kick, armour, and since upgrading to XL, I'm fast to boot! One map has serious issues with heat, but by and large, if you're not alphastriking every shot, most mechs are fine.

We've got problems with the Cbill system beating balance to second place now. Possibly so many of us got used to the Cbills being slow to earn we didn't complain during the earnings change with the switch to 12 v 12.

they received the same buff that all the other classes did...2x table top version...they only reason they seem to be OP is because you can't hit them. try aiming a bit and you will be surprised how quickly they die.

Cant hit them... You mean like this?

You missed my 2 biggest issues:

Lack of competitive support.

Even WarZ, the jokiest joke of all games, put in player clan support almost a year ago. It's absurd we don't at least have clan tags. The competitive players are going to keep the game going. The guys who want to win join groups that will spend MC to get it. Some units even require MC purchases to stay competitive. Those guys, not the random pug, are going to pour their heart, souls and money into the game.

My biggest issue is hit detection. I want what I shoot at to take damage.

Other: New player experience. not specifically the grind, but the systems to introduce & reward a new player. I tried War Thunder and they gave me solid tutorials, REAL rewards for playing the tutorials, and significant freebies and 'welcome mat' bonuses to make me feel welcome and to help get me situated in combat airframes.

PGI said they will give us a similar system, but I feel they could very easily introduce free mechs for new players even if the tutorials are not ready yet.

Host state only working one way. High to low but not low to high. Don't wanna hear I don't understand it cause it happens every drop. A higher ping player always hits someone with lower ping but my shots still don't register 30% of the time on higher pings. I'm tired of my 55-70 ping being a detriment cause those with high ping are still legging me after I'M in cover and I take three steps but bam there goes a leg cause of host state. Tired of hearing well that's the only way those with high ping can hit lights. Tied of those of us with low ping being screwed by our good connection. If I'm behind a building I need to be behind a building when the shot comes in not where I was when they fired. Make it fair for all.

Umm... we can't hit you either. You're probably being hit by some guy with high ping getting fed up of nothing hitting you when they shoot you directly, then lead shooting like they used to and hitting you.

Host state allows high ping to hot low ping. When I'm behind buildings and other cover there goes a leg but when I'm point blank and my lasers show on my screen to be hitting CT and doing no damage ya Host state sucks.
