Have you taken the module off and compared that? Stupid question, but since I'm not sure fast fire does anything, you may have an issue there.

I should try it with my ASRM6 module, too. It feels faster, but I can be subject to the power of suggestion like anyone else.

Tried that, even tried placing the module in both of the available weapon slots. Nothing works.

It takes around 100 shots to desync and resync both weapons in every scenario.
So It clearly has no effect whatsoever.

this is from memory so I may be forgetting something minor, I am sure someone else will correct me if I am,

go to www.mwomercs.com
log in
click download now
run the program
install following the onscreen instructions
when you click patch it will take a while, be paitent
after it has finished installing/patching click play
login
do the tutorial (optional but recomended)
select a mech
go to the training grounds, select a map and try to get used to moving and shooting at the same time (optional but recomended)
click play now
be prepaired to die quickly until you get used to the game
first 25 matches you will earn a lot of money, suffiscent to purchase and almost any mech,
think about what you buy carefully as your earnings slow down a lot after the first 25, and you may still need several million to upgrade the mech after purchasing it (a light may need 6,000,000+ to fully upgrade but the bigger the mech the less you are likely to need to spend on upgrades)
use http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab to design and work out costs of a mech before purchasing (that site makes it much easier to workout what you are getting)
if you need any further help please ask

edit: spelling

The game is not played on "the site", it's a downloaded title. Head to http://mwomercs.com/game/download to download the patcher, run that program and hit the big blue patch button. Then wait a few hours depending on your download speed.

When it's done the blue patch button will say PLAY instead, then you can pick a trial mech and hit play now at the upper right.

To start with, you get access to trial mechs. These are reasonably upgraded versions of basic mechs. Throughout your first 25 matches you'll get a large influx of c-bills (cadet bonus) that should get you set up with your first "owned" mech.

Advice: try a lot of the trials and ask a lot of questions. You'll never see that many cbills that fast again, you want to make that first buy one you're happy with.

Welcome to MWO!

You'll need to earn some C-bills by playing matches before you can buy your own mechs(and after than you can begin upgrading and outfitting them)

The first 25 matches give you a nice bonus, so hold onto it until you know what you want to buy :)

With PPC and ER PPC and the amount of damage they deal to the opponent.. Do they deal Heat Damage to the target as well or was that completely negated? I've been hit by PPC before and it's like getting hit by a round from an ac10 but haven't noticed my heat gauge reflecting any heat damage received.

no, there is no heat applied to the target from the PPC or ERPPC

the PPC has the following affects:
10 damage
Clan ERPPC also gets + 2.5 damage to 2 adjacent parts of the target mech
shuts down any ECM unit on the target mech for I think 4 seconds
regular PPC has a minimum range of (I think) 80 meters

90 meters minimum range. Other than that, I think it's all right.

Are you sure about that? I think PPC/ER-PPCs will inflict some heat damage in large quanities (eg: 4-6 PPCs at once), that aren't noticeable in smaller amounts (1 PPC). Requires more testing to make sure ,but I'm not sure that' answer is entirely accurate.

It does NOT do any heat effect on target.
PPCs did this in MW4 only.

I understand where the misconception is coming from as the article on the PPC on Sarna (the battle tech wiki) mentions PPCs doing thermal damage to the target, however in MWO that does not happen.

Also there are now heat penalties in MWO for firing more than 2 PPCs at a time if you try firing 6 PPCs at once your mech will shut down, I just tested this with the following build
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9e71715ece3d258
in the training grounds on most maps the Mech powered back up with orange CT internals about 30 seconds after firing, the Mech blows up after ether the second or third shot
alpha striking with more than 3 PPCs is a big risk

Does using an arty strike in tutorial grounds waste it? Or do you get it back after using it?

Pretty sure they are not consumed in training grounds.

Regarding the new permanent upgrade to 30% XP boost on Champion mechs:

-Does the XP boost apply to the GXP that the mech earns (in addition to the MXP?)

-(Because I'm lazy and forgot) Do Hero mechs have any sort of XP boost?

As the amount of GXP is based of your XP per match, the increase is basically also increasing GXP.
Say you got 1000XP, then you would get 50GXP with normal mechs.
with 30%... well, thats 1300XP or 65GXP.

Hero mechs have 30% Cbill bonus, no XP at all.

Premium Time boosts both XP and CBill by 50%.

Small addition:

Hero Mech/Champion Mech/Omnipod Set Bonus & Premium is additive, not multiplicative. So you get (for instance, with here and premium) 80% bonus c-bills, not 95%.
