Could be valid... Using a dead mech as a shield? Sounds like a pro tip !

You can actually waste your shots on dead mechs.
I'm not sure if that wreckage is always on/in the same position, so it might be different for your opponent and his shots go through.
Best to not shoot stuff if you are right at/in the wreckage and risk your shots going into that.

Using friendly/enemy mechs or wrackage is also part of your cover, not just terrain or buildings :)

My guess is it has to do with how it looked when the mech was standing on uneven ground. As it is now, one leg will hang in the air while the other goes into the ground. The feet don't conform to the angle of the ground because it was too computationally expensive on some machines so they turned it off. If there were rocks as well, it could have given the appearance they were kneeling.

I swear I blew up a tree in River City one time, but it wasn't destructible in subsequent matches. I used to hear rumors about a destructible tree, so I wonder if maybe I wasn't crazy.

I believe it was possible in the early beta, but there are still lots of crazy stuff.

Could be, River City is weird. There is a position there where You can hurt enemies and receive hundreds of hits without damage. There is a price - your eyes will bleed from high frequency screen flashing because your mech will be caught in loop jumping at extreme frequency (no way out).
.
@TheCaptainJZ: Your explanation is closest, that was on a way up to caldera from lake side, path between the rocks. It looked so real , my eyes popped out.

Some days ago I saw a Raven which felt on its back, sensors did not show him anymore, so it was like "out of order" or "killed".
However its AMS kept firing. Is that normal? That distracted many players (noobs like me) and they kept firing on that raven, while other enemy mechs kept firing on them.
Is this normal? Or a very unfortunate bug which costed us the victory?

it is a bug, it does happen occaisionaly, I am guessing about 1 game in 1,000 I have seen it happen with Jumpjets, AMS, Flamer and Machine Guns..

It has happened to Mechs which still function as (I once had someone on teamspeek with me whose AMS would not stop firing, he ran out of ammo before we found the enemy) well as dead Mechs

That would be a bug. I only recall seeing it with someone who disconnected. You may also see it with jump jets.

This seems to be unclear for me and other players. Is target/paperdoll info shared between allies? If i gather target info really quick, do my allies that are targeting the same enemy receive the target info as fast as I do?

Once a target info is gathered, anyone switching to that target will receive the info instantly.

Rank 5 is 10% better range to both optimum and max, so 401.5m optimum and 803m max, and the cooldown gives you 2.86 seconds recharge (again, rank 5).

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...eptmodule_range for all modules.

Today I won 1 out of 20 games (PUG as mechwarriors call - it as far i learned) ... i dont do team kill, so how is it possible to have such bad win rate?
Statistically if i would be "average" i would have nearly 50% win rate.

Are there any conspiracy theories about MM?
I play bad, team plays bad we loose -ok
I play better, like 563 dmg one kill, multiple assists - we loose....
I manage to kill a jenner and a dire wolf (200dmg) with my locust (which is a big achievement for me) - we loose (at that point that achievement gets a bad taste) ....

In CW I won like 3 of 30 battles so far. I am individual for fun player, do not want to "organize" drops, want to have spontaneous fun. But in CW it seems i am always in a team of 12 individuals which are matched again a organized team/lance (however you call it here).
Why is the Matchmakin so stupid??????
No possibility to match 2 lances with filling up empty spaces with "individual players" like me?
Finally - the ceasefire- WTF?!?!
Ronal needs help, sure I can help, then I wait 6 minutes in a queue to get info that cease fire has started?
How annoying, What is this ceasefire for?
When i play on evening eu time, i can/want to play 1-2 hours. 40 min of that is ceasefire, 20 minutes is waiting for queues.
Today I was ill and was at home and tried to play on afternoon - again ceasefire....
Am I the only one annoyed by that? What do you against that?

Matchmaking isn't stupid, but you get every single bad desicion with interest. It's not that the better team wins, it's the one that makes the least mistakes. The MM conspiracy theories are just that, pay them no mind or you'll turn into the same kind of bitter old man as they are.

There's no real remedy to the EU ceasefires but to wait patiently until they have passed. If you don't want to wait for ages on a drop then look for a planed that already has large ques going for it. Empty plantes attract just as few attackers as defenders.

I got a quick question about purchasing packages: Can I simply go and buy a Karma Koin worth a package I want and use it on site, or do I need to use Pay-Pal?

That sounds stupid, but I think the money is supposed to directly go to PGI. So Karma Koin wouldn't be accepted, right? But if they were though then I'd probably go and buy one Clan package.

Ok, the ceasefires are in effect at the same times every day. There are 3 of them at 8 hour intervals. The purpose is to stop all action (CW matches last 30 mins and give 10 for matchmaking prior) then recalculate the map and give control of planets to their new owners if they claimed a majority of the zones at that time.

There is no matchmaking in CW except for forming groups of 12. It will not do this on a first come first serve basis however. If you have a partial team and then a 12-man jumps in, they will be bumped ahead of you since they form a complete team already. Likewise, small groups will be Tetris'd together until they form a team. A single player may make up the missing man or may get bumped to the next group. It really just depends.

The reason it works this way is because not many players play CW overall so the matchmaker doesn't really have enough players to do anything creative with matching. It has a hard enough time simply forming teams as it is. Pro-tip--start playing about 2 hrs before a ceasefire begins, then use all the queue information at your disposal to pick which planets to try to launch on. Look for active planets with the majority of a team waiting in a queue. Read the above posted thread.

Ok, as for the first part of your post, over a long period of time it should balance out nicely. But can and will have long streaks of winning or losing. Question, are you new to playing lights? Have you played a lot of lights already? Do you do better in those over your Locust? Are these matches even all in the same mech anyway? You have 4 Elo scores--1 for each weight class. If your team wins, and the MM predicted you'd lose, your Elo score goes up. The reverse is also true. But if the MM's prediction was right and you won when it thinks you will or vice versa, your Elo score will not change much if at all. It's statisically possible that it predicted your team will lose several those times and as such, your Elo score didn't change much. But there really is no way of knowing what it predicted. And also, it's not based on your performance alone but the team as a whole. In this way, some players may find themselves pulling up the rest of their team (or their team is dragging them down) but that's not how it's intended to work. It does try to get everyone with the same Elo score within both teams. It uses the average of both team's Elo scores to make the actual prediction, but it doesn't try to put a great player with a poor player to meet a certain average. If those are the only 2 players available, it will have to grab them though.
