just because I read someting regarding it around page 106 of that nice topic.
Cooldown 10% means longer cooldown = slower shooting or 10 % faster = faster shooting.
Smurfy's mechlab is contradicting to the stated answer in that topic, cooldown 10% is bad while green is good, because Smurfy's mark positive cooldown values green.
For example Hunchback 4 SP:SRM 6 COOLDOWN: 20.00 %
I hoped so far that SRM6 on Hunchback SP fire 20% faster (or should switch to SRM4?? )
Or Stalker 4N: LARGE LASER COOLDOWN: 10.00 %
It seems 10% cooldown mean indeed 10% increase of rate of fire...
A indication for this would be also that never a particular weapon gets a nerv, but a buff, while only some type of weapon gets a nerv on a chassis (energy cooldown on some chassis)
I have large lasers on that Stalker 4N, all that buff quirks seem to stack nice for me. Firing large lasers feels nearly as fast as medium lasers on some other mechs.
Can you confirm? Or is it just wishfull thinking from my side?
And from my understanding 10% cooldown means i can fire faster, but of course when i keep firing asap, the heat will raise also faster, right? Or has this cooldown also some positive influence of the overall heat?
regards!

Hi.
Cooldown 10% means:
The time the weapon takes to "cool down" and be ready to fire again is reduced by 10%.
So you can shoot 10% faster (or sooner, to be precise).
This increases your damage output over a given time period (or DPS), but it also increases the generated heat over that time period. So your heat will raise accordingly "faster", or again, sooner, and you'll ring the shutdown bell faster
There are other quirks affecting heat generation.

THX for confirmation, exactly what i was expecting, however felt not sure about that.
EDIT: as i didnt find any, is it right there are no heat or ghost heat reducing modules for mechs?

If you mouse-over a mech in the mech bay /store you can see the quirk list on the popup details.
Green = good, Red = bad. (e.g. 20% increased cool down speed for SRM on the HBK-4SP is green = it is faster/better than without)
There are only range and cooldown modules. No heat modules available or currently planed.

So, with that in mind....
When it says "laser duration", does that only apply to regular lasers or does that quirk apply to pulse lasers and ER-lasers as well?
When it says "energy _____," that applies to PPC/ERPC as well correct?
For those clarifying/answering this one, anyone got a link that explains this fully by chance?

All lasers are affected by "beam" quirks.
and "energy ..." includes PPCs and flamers too, they use a energy hardpoint

Since the game has FF enabled, accidents can and will eventually happen. We had one match where 3 people in our team ended up dying because of accidental misfires (one of those caused by me accidentally swiping one of my beams on an exposed component, triggering a chain reaction).
Please only report a person when there was a clear malicous intend. Support is already pretty busy with a very large ticket backlog.
