Where the sam-duckery is the quirk information for owned mechs in the new mechlab? I swear with each new layout while they get some things better they tend to make other things worse. Yes, the Expanded Display (dropdown menu from Column Display) is fantastic. But even then, still no quirk info.
Its on your right down corner upon expanded. Small white icon. You need to click it.
Its fairly hidden.
Asap in no power to make a screenshot.
Edit: http://mwomercs.com/...ug-with-new-ui/
Thats how it looks like expanded. Its the lil white icon on the left of that box. Its not collapsed on default.
I never would have thought to click that. PGI's pretty well known for rather useless icons and 'thingies' so to be honest I didn't even 'see' it. I can't fathom why they would have this hidden/collapsed in the first place in ~either~ view mode.

Also thanks.
If you want an extra challenge, try renaming one of your mechs without looking at the spoiler box in this post.

Select a mech, go to the mechbay, and in the LOADOUT screen, you'll see it's name in the top right corner, with a pen icon next to it. Click that to rename

Weirdly enough, I stumbled onto that completely intuitively. Like, I took one look at the screen and was like, "Oh, I forgot to name my LCT 3V. Hey look, a little pencil icon." Bam! Done.
That is a mean build, and I really like it. You don't see many Raven pilots going on the front line. However, I recommend you play as a satellite.
The Satellite role is where you pick a big mech to "orbit" you stick close to them, hit what they hit, and chase away any backstabbing lights.
Thank you I have been messing around with quite a few designs lately mainly Ravens and other lights. Also sometimes I try designing heavies and assaultshttp://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=50&l=d38f3b906e5ffe37bd76478f944916b68395a525

the Stalker tends to loose a side torso long before its center torso so I would not recommend an XL engine. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...31efba5b95bb2cb
in the above build I removed 1 laser, and swopped the XL310 for a standard 300, the build now runs cooler and will be far more survivable, by rearranging the heatisnks you could add Endo Steel internals and add Artemus to the SRMs (Artemus tightens the missile grouping) http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5579801f08503b1
or you could add some more lasers, instead of the Artemus

You want to use a STD engine. Jedi made great modifications. You almost never use an XL engine in a Stalker, because of the Side Torso hitbox. For SRMs, Artemis is a great addition on SRM6s because they spread more than other launchers. The SRM build is actually an oldy but a goody design. We called it the "Death Barrel"
One good kind of general rule to follow regarding XLs is never in a brawler, and usually never in an assault, although there are some that can take them well, but the Stalker isn't one of those. Although I do have a friend who uses his Stalker as an lrm boat and swears by his XL.

For indirect fire LRM mechs, XL engines are irreplaceable. Even on Stalkers. Of course, the problem is that you need to learn to stay in cover, and pack a seismic module, to make sure no one surprises you from behind, or the side.
Is there a purpose to renaming a mech at all? Or is it just for your own benefit?
Own benefit.
Having a ship named the U.S.S. Enterprise has no real benefit over another ship of the same make and model...except that personal sense of pride.
Now I worry when I see a mechbay with mechs that have names like ****, *******, or ********.
You can tell there isn't much pride there.
In my mech's HUD there are four roughly L-shaped brackets that form a square/rectangle in the center of the HUD. Sometimes when I am in combat the "edges" of that box (actually parts of the edges) glow red. What does this indicate? Is it a direction from which I am being attacked? Is it an indication that I have been hit from a certain direction? If it is an indication that I am being shot at/taking damage from a certain direction, which direction? Lets say that the bottom left corner is glowing. Is the box like a clock and I am taking hits from the 7:30 position? I so, then is that position based on where my torso is pointed or where my feet are pointed? Hope that makes sense.

That's an indication of damage received. If it's glowing from the top, that usually means the damage is coming from the front. If it's glowing from the bottom, that means the damage is from behind. If it's a side, then the damage is incoming from that side.
It's also in relation to where your torso is facing.
Check this video. At exactly 1:23 Sean gets hits by his teammates from behind, and to the side (I recommend seeing the whole thing, and if you want to just see the indicator, jump to 1:22)

So about 2 minutes in to the vid this guy shuts down after alpha strikeing. When he comes back up, if I am understanding him, he says something about getting a headshot [kill]. How does he know it was a headshot?
