How are the quick match teams divided up? Does it try to make the tonnage equal on each side?

it tries to match by equal tonnage (within a margin of error) and equal average PSR for solo queue matches. the 3,3,3,3 Raubwurst mentioned has been phased out of matchmaking, with 3,3,3,3 it was possible for one team to be 240 tones heavier than the other.
for group queue there is no tonnage matching as tonage is part of the balance for larger groups (2 player groups can have 100 tons per Mech while 12 player groups can only have 50 tons per Mech)

Is it possible to reset or archive my stats? Want to start again now I have learned more about the game. Slowly dragging my K-D up, would be easier to start fresh though. I sucked pretty hard for the first few matches.

sorry, no,

the only way to reset your stats is to start a new account.

however the stats are only visible to you, so do not really matter except maybe as a way of gauging if your skills are improving

PGI have reset the stats a few times, they were periodically reset during Closed Beta, and were last reset I think in early 2014

I have a question about buying a Raven 3L. I really like the Raven 3L (C), especially due to the fast movespeed and dual large lasers, Is it possible to buy a "normal" Raven 3L and make it work like a 3L (C) or do I have to shell out money for it?

Don't know the build, but you can create the exact build. It will cost you c-bills for the engine, structure/armor upgrades to make it happen though.

That's fine, I was just worried that I couldnt fit 2 ER LL for some reason on the normal 3L. Thanks for your fast answer!

All the (C) variants are just pre-customized versions of the base chassis. You will always be able to duplicate the builds with the base chassis.

The only thing that the Champion builds get that you cannot build exactly the same on any chassis is the 30% XP bonus, but that doesn't help once you have the mech mastered anyway.

I am sure this question gets asked alot but: I got 16 trail mechs in my bay, but I cannot buy anything without real money, why is that?

You are wrong. You can buy all 'Mechs with Ingame currency, with the exception of HeroMechs and ChampionMechs (which aren't better, but gives you additional CBillrewards/XPrewards).

Ingame go into the store -> Battlemechs and there you see all 'Mechs and can buy them without real money.

TrialMechs are only predefined 'Mechs to let you try out builds and collect money till you have enough to buy your own first 'Mech.

The only battlemechs that can be purchased solely through real money are champion mechs or hero mechs.

If you haven't finished your first 25 matches though, wait before you buy your first mech: the cadet bonus awards will give you around 10 million c-bills that you can use to buy and upgrade your first purchase.

You may want to try and build your desired mech before you try to buy it in the Smurfy mechlab here so you have a good idea how much the battlemech will cost fully set up to your liking.

What would be the result of the mechanics between Mech A "LRM Launcher" with a target decay module and Mech B "Sneaky Git" with radar deprivation when A loses sight/lock of B?

If memory serves correctly, they effectively cancel each other out. The targeting would act as if neither mech had either module, or at least close enough that you cannot tell the difference.

not quite, my numbers may be off as I am working from memory, but I think normal target decay is 3 seconds, Radar Deprivation means those targeting you loose the lock 3 seconds faster, Advanced Target Decay gives something like 1.5 seconds extra lock time so if you have advanced target decay and are targeting a Mech with Radar Deprivation you keep the lock for 1.5 seconds after the Mech breaks line of sight.

The numbers may be wrong but that is how it works.

As an LRM user... YES. Advanced decay is great, and really helpful. Radar Deprivation cancels out more than Adv Decay grants you. It's highly annoying, seen as each module costs "roughly" the same (and thus should be doing "roughly" equal work).

Another question: Is the 5x cSRM6+Artemis Stormcrow build still viable or does the overheat changes make it kinda worthless?

How do I break my affiliation with a faction?
Back story - I joined a unit in my first week not knowing what I was doing, it's a clan unit. I have bought all IS mechs as I just prefer them. I want to drop in CW using my own mechs. Every time I hit break contract it says I cannot as I have less than 3 days on my contract. But my contract keeps refreshing with out interaction.
What do I need to do??

depends on what you mean by respectable, if you want single or double figure ping probably never, the oceanic server is I think based in Singapore which was apparently the best compromise for the region PGI could find.

I doubt they would put a server on Australia, or the other nearby islands unless the local player-base increases massively, based on figures Russ (head of PGI) mentioned last year shortly before regional servers came online your region makes up about 10% of the player base compared to Europe and North America which are both above 40%, so unless you can convince a lot more Australians (as in 4+ times as many) to play it is probably not financially viable for PGI to put in Australian servers, sorry.

have you left the unit yet?

While you are with a unit you cannot break a contract unless the unit has given you those permissions.
there is a "leave unit" button on the "faction play" page ingame.
