Correct.

And in answer to your Crab question: http://metamechs.com...pisode-41-crab/

Thanks kindly, cleghorn6 - I have to get ready and leave for work in a few minutes, so just browsed the link you provide. Will give it a thorough read-through when I get back in morning.

And thanks as well, RogueJedi - the jump jet Crab is one I a particularly interested in, so that will be the first of the series that i plan to buy. Back in my MW 2: Mercenaries days, I used them almost exclusively as scout/ medium-range 'Mechs, bt that was against CG opponents, not multiplayer, so will have to see how I go with them in MWO, if those tactics still work efficiently or not.

it says the Assult performance pack contains 4,000 MC, as in buy the performance pack in the gift store and you also get 4,000 MC and the other stuff, no-where does it suggest they are available for MC.

Yeah makes sense now thanks. I blame alcohol on this one!

Hmm...I think it was on the public test server, or in a dev update, maybe the last vlog. Haven't seen anything about it going live, but I do vaguely remember hearing that.

For those players who own the CRB Crab (the Medium-class 'Mech, not the Assault-class), I was planning on buying three (3) of them (all to keep) to Master them all up, since they are my favourite 'Mech from the days of MW 2: Mercenaries, so I was wondering, for those who own them so far, what (C-Bill) Crabs are the best to fight with with and the best armour and weapons to load them up with?

I already have enough 'Mechs with missile capabilities and the CRB Crab (being primarily a laser 'Mech), I was wondering which energy (laser) weapons work best when in a battle? And if the are better off as medium-range support 'Mechs or,, as history has taught me, are they best to use as scouts, since they are perhaps one of the fastest Medium-class 'Mechs produced in the IS?

Thanks kindly any and all who take the time to read and answer this for me. :-)

Oh and one more thing - anyone who actually owns one of the CRB Crabs, do they handle better in solo drops or CW Events?

(Going by current standing stats for the Crab, with it's quirks at the moment of posting.)
Including links to my own builds. Use as reference, or not. (27 and 27B has the same exact build for me, but slightly different roles.)
The 27 is good for increased range.
The 27B is good for better cooling.
The 27SL is good for jump. I have mine set for some jump sniping with PPCs. Up to preference.
The 20 is good for faster shooting lasers, and it's large engine cap, but requires an XL engine to utilize said engine cap. XLs are risky in the Crab, but can be a solid choice depending upon how you play it.

Personally, if you want "they work similar so you can play the same style", buy the 27 and 27B and then either the 27SL or the 20. If you want "each mech to be different", then get the 27B, the 27SL and the 20.

Personally, I love my Crabs. Just be aware of their large side torsos, and don't forget to twist! It's really easy to shift damage around to different components on this mech.

Thanks kindly for the additional information on the CRB Crab; it is one 'Mech that I most want to get, to the point that I would even sell off my Hunchback-4J, Harumi (my current favourite 'Mech in the game) and have been reading anything and everything about them to find out which of them I should buy first, since I really want to use it as much as I did in the old days and all info on it is invalunable to me, so thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to provide me with as much relevant info on it as possible.
Since I am stll learning to use jump-capable 'Mechs (even though I own a number of them already), my current thinking is that I am more than likely to buy the CRB-27SL first, since I want to start utilising jump-capable 'Mechs as my prime force in both solo and CW Event drops.

Does using consumables in testing grounds use them up?
Do you have to pat c-bills for new consumables after using one in testing grounds?

You don't consume consumables on testing grounds. No c-bills are spent, so test away to your hearts content! :)

When is this requirking/revamping taking place exactly that's supposed to change how the game is played (the meta at least)?

I've seen differnt dates on the forum such as the first of december or when the game is released on steam. But I can't find any mention of it in patch notes.
Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place.

TheCaptainJZ is correct, 1 Decmeber,

if you are after estimated dates for something check the roadmap posts in command chair or look up the Developer posts in the Announcements forums.

Patch notes are usualy not release until 24 hours before the patch, and until a few months ago they were often released the day after the patch (UK time anyway), patches are almost always on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, occasionally there is also a 5th Tuesday patch, at 6PM GMT, with downtime usualy being 2 hours

until the December Roadmap went up on Saturday morning (from my perspective at least) the PTS 4 thread in announcements was the only place to find that information.

I cannot say for certain but I would be surprised if something like that, the way you describe it, was not allowed, if all it does is allow you to use a different control (the microphone rather than Keyboard, joystick or mouse) to perform a few functions it should be fine

Hi there fellow MechWarriors,I remember before the game got going, when the forums were the only thing you could access and post in, as well as being able to choose the House/Clan affiliation that you wanted to join, but I was just wondering if the option was still available to change your affiliation wit a House/Clan via forums alone, or if you could only do it when you were signed into the actual site?

I would like to change my House affiliation to leave House Liao, but have no access to get into the game for at least 3 weeks, so is it still possible to change to change to change your House/ Clan affiliation via the forums alone still, or if you can only do it in-game itself?

It would be good if you could if you can you change your affiliation via the forums like you used to, but truthfully, I will be back very soon, and would change it there, but was hoping you could change your affiliation to Houses or Clans via the forums, like you once could?

Does anyone know if that option is still available to do via the forums, since it would save me having to wait several weeks before i get back into playing the game and change it that way>

Thanks for any and all replies and advice to those who chose to answer my question, it is very much appreciated, because I really want to drop my permanent contract with House Liao and go lone wolf (aka mercenary) but have not been able to find any way to cancel my House Liao contract via the forums alone.

Yeah, I have to agree with Rogue Jedi with what he said, since that kind of thing tends to be frowned upon in multi-player games like MWO and would be considered cheating,

The general rule of thumb in game like multi-player games is that if you are unsure of something, it is best not to use it, just to be on the safe side, or else you could well find your account deleted because of use something like that, especially when it comes to bots - MWO tends to frown on using bots of any kind, to keep the game fair for everyone else, so just do yourself a favour and not use any bot programs, no matter what they are.

Short answer. No. You can only change your faction in game now. There is no way to do so on the forums anymore.

When you do break contract, you will have to pay a fine in C-bills. Then, you will also have a wait period before you can sign your next contract. (I believe it's 24hrs between breaking a contract and being able to get a new one.) Meanwhile, during wait period you would still remain Liao and continue to fight in their name for CW.

Damng, well thanls for answer my inquiry; it would have been nice if you could still still change House/Clan affiliations via the forums like you could before the game got started, and would be great if that option was implemented again, but I guess I will just have to wait until I get back into the game to do it personally. Althogh going going lone wolf (or mercenary), it does not change the fact that I will still defend my Home World of Boardwalk, since my Unit is based there) but was considering the last few few days of joining House Kurita, since they are the House reputable and respectable House that I have come across (and near enough to Liao space) to support them in the defense of their World from invading Units, since they are show a lot more compassion and helpfulness in helping other Houses in their wars, and from my experience with a lot of Kuritans and dropping with them, would definitely turn away from defending any Liao planet in response to helping the Kuritans maintain their Worlds that are under threat of attack, because I have few great friends who are Kuritans and after what they have done to to send units to help Liao in Liao's battle against the Davions and Clans, I really would like to pay them back for their bravery in defending Worlds that do not even belong to them. Even Marik (in some cases) I would be willing to help defend their World from invasion, but my main mission is to protect all of Kuritan space, both from their Clans and the internal political objectives of conquest in CW Events since they have put their lives and 'Mechs on the line so much for other planets belonging to other Houses that I would be grateful and pleased to help fight on the Kuritan side against their enemies.

Apparently, you and I have had different experiences with House Kurita... However, since NKVA has moved out (apparently), relations with Kurita have greatly improved.

By all means, if you have friends there, and feel it's a good move, then go for it. There are a lot of good people there (and in all the houses).

(My Davion sources still tell me never to trust Liao. But the Combine are cool when they actually are honorable. )

yeah, I have quite a lot of Kuritans as friend on-game, if not in the forums and each time I was part of a unit with a umber Kuritans, they were were nor cowards and actually put themselves on the line, especially in the CW Events against the Clans when they gad atacked Liao planets or planets near the Liao border without regard to their own deaths, so they have gained my respect in a lot of ways, and I was one of the first to propose an alliance with the Kuritans, which aIl would like to see grow stronger to become an eventual alliance against all threats from both IS Houses and Clans alike, and most do not care if they sacrifice themselves for other people's planets outside their own space territories, which is why I am one one of the biggest supporters of House Kurita, so that is the reason i will rally behind them in any drop against any threat they face, for their bravery and willingness to sacrifice themselves for the good of the match (both solo and CW Events), so while I have now officially denounced my affiliation with House Liao, but still have my unit defend the planet Boardwalk, home world of the Boardwalk Defenders (BwD), near the edge of Kuritan space, it gives me an optimal position to help come to their aide whenever the need calls for it and will fight tooth and claw for them on any of their Worlds. Marik, I do not mind, but not much as strong ties ass with the Kuritans, I would help help also, if I can.
Now that I am not longer in House Liao, if I choose to go and join the House Kurita, then I would still go back and defend my home world of Boardwalk and, hopefully, have a few Kuritan friends join me in its defense, should it be attacked or threatened.

And yeah, you are right, over the past 6 months or so, House Liao has proven to be untrustworthy, rather looking after after their own territory and ignoring anyone else, which is the main reason I have denounced my Liao affiliation.

I do not not much like Davions all that much still, but if you attack Liao territory, you will not have to fight me at all, unless any of you target the planet Boardwalk, so I hope that House Davion will leave it alone and just go after everything else in Liao territory; the BwD will focus only on Kuritan defense and the Liao planet of Boardwalk from attacks, but not get involved at all in any other Davion invasion (or Clan invasion of Liao space... and not attack Davions unless it is absolutely ecessary, so I do not think you will ever face me and the BwD in a fight, or very rarely.

One last thing, then I will leave you all alone in this thread and stop anooying/bothering you all - but how exactly do you raise your Tier ranking system in the game/ Before I stopped playing because my computerhad a meltdown, I was on level 5 tier, and now that I have not played for a good 6 months, what is the best way to raise your tier ranking system, at least to get to tier 4 or 3 (since level 1 and 2 tiers would be pretty much out of the question for me)?
