Crimson Strait, The Best Map In The History Of Maps Ever!

Crimson Strait is the best map ever. I wish all maps in MWO were this good. Its got everything.
The only problem with Crimson Strait is sometimes I drop to Terra Therma.
I LOVE CRIMSON STRAIT!!!
"Well why don't you marry it then?" I hear you say.
Maybe I will. Maybe Crimson Strait and I will elope to Vegas. Crimson Strait will climb out the window because Crimson Strait's dad don't care for my type. But then we'll drive to Vegas in my uncle's beat up old Plymouth, straight to the Elvis Chapel to get hitched. Maybe some craps at the Luxor. Maybe Crimson Strait will hit it big doubling down on odds. Maybe we'll kick around New Mexico doing odd jobs before we settle down and buy a little ranch home in Scotsdale. Maybe Crimson Strait will become a K12 teacher while I dabble in day trading, ultimately building up a nice little savings which we'll use to backpack across europe after our kids go to college and we're officially empty nesters.
I love Crimson Strait. The best map in the history of maps anywhere ever of all time.

You're doing it wrong. I've fought all over Crimson Strait. Or rather I've fought all, over Crimson Strait. Because I love Crimson Strait. The best map in the history of computers and big stompy robots.
Also, you're just mad Crimson Strait didn't go to prom with you.

The obvious first choke point around that main corner is where most battles are going to play out until people learn the map. I would suggest the back way over the hill, and the flanky tunnel for those caught up in the corner grind, if you want to get the drop on people who continue to grind it out there.

I just had a match today that was probably the most fun conquest game I've had played.
It was down to 1 fresh spider vs 1 spider and 2 jenners on our side. I was in a Jenner and all 3 of us were cut up badly.
The spider had 3 caps and was taking a 4th with their points steadily rising.
We had to split and decap.
Our closest one to chase down the enemy spider also happened to be the most damaged.
He made it to step on cap just as we had decapped and then proceeded to tangle with the spider.
We BARELY stopped the cap at 744 when our spider died and their started to cap again.
I was the next closest.
Went in tangled with the spider, he was a beast pilot and almost killed me too.
It was beautiful.
You should have been there to see all the GGs thrown up.

It's great if you are a sniper or long range mech but you most decidedly suffer if you are a brawler.
There simply put is no way to get into the fight if you are a brawler due to the massive expanses of OPEN areas where all points lead to.
Underneath the docks where the tunnels are even there there is virtually no cover.
Sorry but this map is nothing but pure frustration for me, every other map out there at least allows you to be clever and use cover to advance on the enemy.
Otherwise you just end up sitting in the back doing twiddling your thumbs or trying to advance and forcing extremely bad situation.

I disagree. I am a Jenner Pilot. I HAVE TO find sneaky ways otherwise I die in a Jenner sized ball of twisted armor and heat sink goop. I have played it twice and have found it to be a sneakers haven. IMHO this map can be suited to any play style.

You also go a 150 Kph which makes you largely immune to LRM's and can cross open area's in a blink of an eye.
Try doing it in a brawler hunchback going 64 kph with 5-6 enemy mechs turn your little mech into the Metal Duck at the carnival that people shoot BB's at.
What other option is there? Sit back and watch your team get sniped and whittled away and hope they come into range? Or charge and get lit up.
Sorry but I am not a fan. Even Aspen has better avenues for me as a brawler to approach the enemy and get into range without getting murdered.
Every map in the game gives brawlers a means to advance on the enemy, EXCEPT for CS.
I can't get behind it.

Point of order. Missles fly at 120 meters per second. that is 393 feet per second. At 150 kph my Jenner is going 136 feet per second. So 393 vs. 136 is a little bit of a difference. 3-1 in favor of the missles. ..... Not trying to tell you to be a fan. Just saying that there are numerous avenues of approach or retreat on Straits that you have the option to use.
