Think they'll be released on time? I suppose no news is good news, since we haven't heard of any release-date changes.

I think they will, I mean, without actual screen shots being released, who is actually going to put up with a delay

They said they won't have hitbox issues... I am highly skeptical.

Says right there in the patch notes:

"And remember! Project Phoenix Talon, Storm, Guardian, and Overlord Packages are dropping next patch! Now is the time to get in on the action with these awesome packages."

Though I think we should make a Feature suggestions and suggest they release all the hardpoints and mech info on all of them to entice more people to pick them up.

And by extension unlock the flame pattern. =)

I'm still thinking the SHD-2D2 is going to be the stand-out Shadowhawk. All the basic hardpoints of the original (probably will lose 1 or 2 of the ballistic points), and gains another energy slot on the left arm? Nice.

They're probably either already done or close to. It's highly unlikely there will be a delay.

i just looked at the phoenix page and the flame pattern is nearly unlocked! i really hope we get it! would be so awesome. also i cant wait to get a new light mech and also get my first assault mech because for some reason i have been constantly delaying buying my first assault mech. it seems for some reason the highest i go for weight is the Orion. but that's ok because i LOVE my Orion and am now buying more so i can master my protector.
Also excited for the thunderbolt as for some reason it seems to be getting less love than the others (no one is really talking about it at all) and after taking another look at its hard points to looks like its really good for a support role of any kind (2 ballistic, 4 energy, 2 missile.) when saber drops in December though that's what i'm really waiting for. those mechs are so cool, will be seeing them a lot when weight limits come because they will be the lightweight and affordable attack mech.

In TT the Thud is feared and respected.

But it may not get an extra hardpoint. As is, the 2H has 3 missile hard points for 2 racks. I'm wagering that the extra arm mounted energy slot will cost it in other slots pretty heavily.

It's still important to note it though, since it's in the CT. While that limits it's size (well, being 55 tons limits it's missile boat viability anyhow) it allows it to be a decent take on a Zombie, since even torso'd it'll be able to carry up to an SRM10, which is twice the potential firepower of a zombied Centy.

We'll just have to wait and see. Phoenix gets released in 2 weeks, we should see by then.

If one of the Thunderbolts has ballistic + JJ, it will probably be pretty solid. However as far as I can tell, this isn't the case.

I want to love the THUD. Problem is, look at the art. Not only are the hands atrocious, but it appears to be a bigger barn door than an Awesome. Hard to get excited over the prospect of another Iconic Target.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the third variant, the 9SE have jump jets? From Sarna:

"The 9SE variant of the Thunderbolt is based primarily around an energy weapons arsenal and maneuverability. The 'Mech is armed with an LRM-10 missile launcher for long-range combat. For close to medium ranges, the 'Mech carries a Large Pulse Laser and three Medium Lasers. Of note is the shifting of the missile launcher from the right-side torso to the left. The additional mobility of the 9SE comes from its four jump jets giving it a jumping distance of one hundred and twenty meters."

It's an upgrade of the 5SE, which does not have MGs. There's a very strong chance it will not have ballistic hardpoints.

Another point of note from sarna.

" Of note is the shifting of the missile launcher from the right-side torso to the left. "

I wonder if they will modify the chassis for this variant? Mirror it?

I've never had a problem hitting mediums and larger mechs. The size might not be as bad as you think if the mech is short for it's weight.

The main thing is that the CT is very skinny on the T-bolt than the side torso. The Centurion lives longer than most due to that, because of the whole 50% damage transfer for shooting a side torso that is technically gone.

The T-bolt looks like a slender CT, so it should be survivable.

Very true. Missed the word "ballistic". My bad.

Ah dyslexia my old arch-nemesis I see we meet again. *shakes fist*

That said, you couldn't really give the 9SE ballistics, not unless you wanted to make the K2 cry .
