Historically the Thor (Summoner) and Uziel were my favourites in past MechWarrior Games however as the Cicada and Jenner are my current favourite MWO Mechs I am most looking forwards to the Shadow Cat

edit: spelling

Seems there are two types of gamers here. Those who like battletech and those who like to shoot.

Many might take the Timber Wolf because winning is easy in those and it is presented very prominent all over the battletech universe as THE battlemech. For me boredom starts here. A mech that makes winning easy? Buzz off with that!!! For me with the struggle comes the fun. If I win and it wasnt clear before the battle began, thats the way I like the most!

- Thats the reason why I wont pick the Thunderhawk TDK-7X. That mech brought me so many kills on the tabletop because I have a strange luck with rolling double sixes.

- Thats the reason why I wont pick the Dire Wolf. First, i dont like fascism-like societies hence i am not a fan of the clans. Second, running it in MW4 was way too easy. Specially with two UAC20 and an LBXAC20 fitted into it. Perfect brawler in the arena but it got boring very very quickly.

- Thats the reason why i wont pick Jägermech JM6-DD nor a Cataphract nor a Victor fitted with three AC2 (what sense makes that anyways to fit three long range AC that make nearly no damage and go brawl with it?? I saw it so often and still dont get it..)

The most fun I had so far with the Talon on the tabletop. very very fast mech with an ER-PPC and two med-lasers perfect for hit and run purposes. Second, even tho its a clanmech, the locust IIC for the same reason as the Talon - light, fast and if it comes close its armament could have a devastating effect on the enemies armor..

At MW4 i would go for the Owen. Remember the mission where u had to go out scanning enemys facilities and only one light mech was allowed? thats the one i had the most fun at. It was thrilling to run into an enemies base with no weapons shut down sensors as fast as possible and go out again trying not to get hit too badly..

In MWO I dig the Hunchback HBK-4G. I never liked Hunchbacks much but here they are fun. Not at the start tho. I had to make it faster (mine runs now 83kph) and add a ton of ammunition. Its not what people here declare at a good build but it is fun. run, hit, hide, run again, trying to get in the atlasses back, leaving some rounds, yelling out loud when a spider runs circles around you faster then you are able to turn. its nice to run out of a friendly assaults back and pump an alpha into the enemys face and rund for my life afterwards... or to flank with a couple of lights surprising the enemy in their back..

I would love to see the Viking in MWO one day. Bad *** looking and a decent LRM boat by nature.

Supernova, because its a heavy mech with a not cubic bulky, quite sexy design.

Mad Dog and Executioner. Mad Dog because it is my favourite since MechWarrior 2, aside from when they ruined it in MechWarrior 4.

Executioner due to being a wonderful blend of speed, mobility and firepower.

Also a soft place for Firemoth... Because you have got to go fast!

I love this bad mamajama almost as much as I love my Piranha.

Four Clan ER Mediums, a pair of clan ER Smalls, two SRM 2s and hell of a nice movement profile in 35 tons of absolute DS/SF terror. Say what you will about Dark Age, but the Tiburon is a mean machine.

I had a costum built Marauder in our campaign. When I started I loved the looks of it, but... I wanted to personalize it. So, removed the AC on top, put two big, white fluffy bunnyears on it with two SRM4 in each, painted it all white, and put a huge fluffy bunnytail in the back. Yes, fluffy, I had tons extra because that thing caught fire almost every time we played. We changed tail on it more often than we repaired it. I LOVED that Mech. Mech Name: Thumper. Callsign: "Bunny"

Second favorite: Homemade build with GM, with a Rasalhauge viking character. Mech: Berzerk. 55 ton 4/6 jump jet. Twin Hatchets with a PPC in each. It was Insane. I jumped straight into groups of mechs, and chopped them to pieces.

But yeah, in the existing universe, the Marauder will always be my favorite. Now, if I only could put bunny ears on them again... A man can dream.

Aesthetically I like the Zeus a lot.... from a gameplay standpoint the Gallowglas is one of my favorites, one of my first characters rolled it and after a couple campaigns I really grew to respect its simplistic effectiveness.

Archer

ARC-4M

An upgrade using rediscovered Star League technology, the 4M is built around an Endo_Steel chassis and increases the armor by half a ton. The 'Mech upgrades its heat sinks to double heat sinks for added heat dissipation capabilities. The 'Mech upgrades its twin LRM-20 launchers by adding Artemis IV fire control systems to the launchers and still mounts four Medium Lasers, two of which are still rear mounted. This design also incorporates CASE.

This is the mech I played the most in for TT. I remember was seeing the clans for the first time in the thing. A mad Dog/ vulture that fired LRMs at point blank range and damage me, augh! I had no idea what the clans were until that gaming session. The best part, we owned that Nova (5 mechs and 25 elementals) with only a Banshee, Gunslinger, Archer, Stealth, two Rommel tanks, Two Patton tanks, 12 APC's and three platoons of infantry.

Mad Cat MK2, Annihilator, Raven, Mad Dog.. I've got a few others.

For me it's been partially a mix of asthetics and just firepower/utility. I definately favour assaut and heavy mechs by and large but I've got a few lights and mediums I'm fond of as well. I'm especially fond of the Raven since it's a bit of a swiss army knife of light mechs which seems somewhat rare in IS mechs, and it looks spiffy!

I'm not sur, the Vulture is one heck of a nice mech that I really enjoy.
If I had the choice, I'll choose a vulture.

I'm going to say Warhammer and Vulture - my favorites on the tabletop. A close second is the Hunchback - there's just something about the light-mech-with-huge-gun genre that appeals.

I think that's why I'm in love with my Stormcrow-C - UAC/20 + support weapons is brawly fun, and I'd have done it on a tabletop in a heartbeat. :)
