as of the time i am writing this project phoenix is just 9 days away and boy i bet that the forums are going to be one hell of a fire fight with new players running about wondering whats with these new mechs and why cant they have them, trolls once again trying to convince those who bought phoenix (like me) that their purchase was a mistake, and the floods of people saying that these mechs are "op" even if they turn out not to be. so with that i say...

whats your prediction on whats going to happen on the 15th of October? respond to the poll above and answer what you think will happen on the forums and in game. or press other and describe your prediction. personally i think all of the above will happen.

I've been shot at by teammates in-game for mentioning that I bought Overlord. There are a lot of dumb, loud people that really hate Phoenix buyers.

I chose All of the above for what will happen on the forums because, well.. Those are just the kind of people who skulk around this game's forums. In the tidal wave of whining and complaining about everything else, you can expect at least someone to throw in more nonsense about the Phoenix mechs.

I chose None of the above for what will happen in-game, however, because the people I see in there usually tend to differ from the types of people you encounter on the forums. I've never seen anyone call an early-release MC 'mech OP, nor would I expect anyone to go out of their way to target a Phoenix 'mech over another unless the pilot of said Phoenix 'mech was doing something that would give them reason.

As for teamkilling, it's certainly not something I expect, though it's also not something that I feel couldn't happen... It just seems unlikely, given that someone doing it intentionally can have their account suspended.

No, but there will probably be enough, secure in their internet anonymity, to make enough noise that it appears to be an issue.

Every single weapon, mech*, or equipment has been called OP by somebody, guaranteed there will be threads complaining about the Phoenix mechs.

well if you look at certain topics like the announcements for the saber reinforcement package and the project phoenix loyalty update there are a lot of posts that support people not liking those who bought project phoenix. i'm not saying EVERYONE hates phoenix buyers and i wasn't implying people hate the buyers themselves. its just that looking at the history of this game its a sure bet that lots of people will be hating anything that requires a penny to leave their pocket in this game.

the whole point of this was to have some fun and talk to other people about stuff like this and share how we think everything is going to explode with "Project Phoenix is OP" topics exploding like fireworks set off in a dynamite factory.

i was not saying in anyway that people hate those who bought phoenix i just thought it would be interesting to see how things are going to go crazy in 9 days.

also Wilhelm if this topic came off like that it was 100% not intentional and once again this is just for fun. im not trying to act like a self entitled *** hat because i spent some money on a game i play often and support.

Understood thats just how it sounded to me, I get the idea of what youre saying but i dont think it will be any different the me shooting the brightly colored mechs first. Some mechs just look like Pinata's.

I voted that people will cry them to be OP, but that's because people are stupid. I've checked all of the mechs on sarna and looking at their weapon loadouts and knowing what hardpoints they will get, I'm not seeing anything powerful. I mostly expect them to be things that will overlap with other mechs. Kinda like orion, you can see ppl use them but if you are looking for the most efficient mech in the category then you would never pick it.

As someone who got shot at by my own team when piloting the Boar's Head and the Protector... I agree.

People even saying: "Why would you give money to PGI?"

I would've liked to have replied something like: "I'm not giving them money. I'm paying so you can play this game for free"
