1) Perfect weapons convergence is a terrible idea.
2) Ghost heat was a silly way to deal with boated alpha strikes when the convergence was the big issue in the first place.
3) Poor netcode combined with no European servers makes life more difficult for people who live far away from North America.
4) Lack of community warfare
5) Attitude from developers seems disinterested, if not dismissive, of concerns voiced by many players
6) Attitude of developers to community suggestions is usually to tell us how it's a bad idea, without really explaining why, and telling us that they're working on something better.......and then delivering something that's worse, or simply unwanted.
7) Lack of game modes. I'm sick of assault mode, in particular. At least in conquest mode you understand exactly what's going to happen. Current assault mode is annoying with the cap mechanic tied to pointless bases on opposite ends of the map.

Netcode can improve. Community warfare will come. More game modes will come.
But they need more players.

That's not going to happen as long as the devs keep ignoring community requests to fix #1, #2 and hit detection.
If players see PGI swallow their pride and do a 180 on their position, take back ghost heat and perfect convergence, then maybe the community will believe in the devs.

If the player base believe in the devs, then they buy themselves more time to implement stuff.
Because all they do is say "soon", but it never comes.
At least if they fix the core mechanics, then "soon" might actually be ok with people.

Maybe then, and only when these start to happen, the player base will rave about this game to their friends.
And we'll get more players :(

Ecm is still broken. I dont feel like piloting any other assualt mech in pugs because it is so invaluable. It basically makes lrms obsolete. When I get into a pug without ecm sometimes you totally get wrecked based on what the other team rolls. Early closed beta when Ecm was implemented it felt like it totally broke the game. I stuck around for a few weeks only having a stalker at the time with my main weaponry negated then quit for a few months because of ecm. Coming backs it feel like the is almost no reward for winning and you barely make any c bills without piloting a hero mech. Fix buggy lag shielded lights. a spider usually being the last one alive should not survive for a minute running around out in the open through close quarters with the other team. Back shotting and ecm aside a light being able to provide spotting and distraction with a ton of damage avoidance is unacceptable. I really dont mind how high the lights alphas are. I had some good 700 dmg matches pretty much 2 shotting enemy mechs in the back and being proper recon but when I ran through entire enemy squads with barely a scratch they are broken. They need to take proper damage when shot. Collisions need to be put back in so we can get rid of teleporting lights running through mechs. I really don't know if I want to buy the 80$ project pheonix. I skipped founders because I was dissatisfied with the lack of improvement early closed beta. There have been improvements enough to come back buy I question why would I want to run any of those pheonix mechs except for the c-bill boosts. I would feel gimped running anything but my D-DC unless I am playing with friends and they have the ecm covered. ECM is broken just going to say it again. Clan/omni mechs need to come out. The Nova, Timber wolf, Diashi etc. It is also displeasing that Double heatsinks only provide 1.4 heat dispersion outside of the mech but take up an enourmous amount of space.... 3 slots is ridiculous. I think they should either bring them up to double or reduce the slots or both. You can't even put them in your legs at all. Also the lack of weapon variety is getting to me. I want my Mech 2 stuff. Where are the ER medium lasers, varieties of lbx and everything else. It feels like we are going into inner sphere succession war phase but I mean it was supposed to be 3050 and cthe clan stuff was coming. Extreme let down. Clan weaponrys and mech are very much wanted very soon. I don't know if I want to buy project pheonix or Battlefield 4. If I contribute something like 80$+ to this game I dont want to have to buy another 110$ clan invasion package. Also the hero mechs having unique variants IS Pay 2 win. Maybe I should skip out on buying it and just buy a few mech bays. I don't even think I will run the mechs. Alos the cbill reduction is actually causing me to spend less money on the game because I dont make cbills so I dont buy more mechs and mech bays. Its to be determined if I will spend money or not. I love mechwarrior have been playing since mech1 but I question id I want to put money in the game especially with bf4 here. Terra Therma is the worst map I have ever seen by the way. We cant even destroy building cars or anything like on the old mechwarrior games.

P.s Fix Game freeze bug. May also be called another fps bug before hard freeze. I get it every day or two but it's really annoying it still going on.

p.s.s FIX terrain boxes. Most of the time you cannot shoot anywhere near the top of some hills without it colliding with air. I tried shooting through the huge crane gaps on the new map on top of the highway, definetely didn't go through anywhere. If I shoot to the outside of the endge of an ingame object it should not collide with air. I could be shot while not being able to return fire in some location even and this was not a hardpoint location error from where I was firing from.

P.s.s.s Pay to win hardpoints, Engine ratings. Cbill income disparity makes using consumables lean heavily toward hero mechs and premium users. If you ever want to purchase another mech without these conditions you honestly cannot use consumables. Cannot destroy, knockdown or burn trees. Also shooting through some of them besides that point. Terrain hit collision buggy, most weapons collide outside of where the terrain actually is located. Really questioning if I am going to be putting 80-110$ + for propho + some mc for more mechbays before phoenix comes out. Night vision sucks, thermals seem to cause a little bit of lag on my system, not as smooth as normal vision for some reason but that could be a hardware issue. Occasional freeze bugs midgame or end of game freeze bug before end of game debriefing pops up. The bias toward hero mechs and hardpoints really bothers me. When I am thinking if I want to put money in the game in the future I think how much I will actually have to put in down the line for future releases and what not to be competitive. Currently I would have to buy an Ilya for the hardpoints, Boars head for the points + up for 400 engine rating which is not available on normal atlas varients. This makes me wonder just how much I would have to put into for future mech variants I would want. Definetely not cosmetic, definetely pay to win free to play model. Even if I had a decent cbill income to buy more mechs it would be Approx 15$ just for every 10 more mechbays. I could easily see myself wanting over 60 variants of mech in the universe and to me that's enough to pay into most games. The game is in danger of being an extreme money grab/sink. I can understand the developers need incomes and want a profit but if there is going to be a needed package or hero mech to buy to be competitive every few patches they are going about it the wrong way. It destroys player retention and creates friction in the community. Make some excusive skins for the deep pockets who want to buy more and more if you want to. But keep the competitive advantage pay to win aspects out of MWO. It just leads to a spiral of decline and if your player base isnt large enough to keep from resorting this method I dont know what to tell you. More game modes and a TDM or real base war with turrets and such type of fight, just more game modes in general is needed. Most players don't want to win objectives they just go into a match locate the enemy and shoot mechs win conditions irrelavent they just want to shoot mechs. This degrades the game mode oriented tactics when you mix the players who just are there to do that. Also the reward for doing anything but blowing up mechs is not there. If I take say my stalker or atlas and stop at a node in conquest for 2-3 minutes after having to walk over there while the rest of my team is playing TDM it just is not fun. I come out of the match with 30-40k cbills probably doing that if I don't see action and that is just a no fun waste of time. Playing defense on assualt often has the same result even if you win it doesnt feel like a win without rewards. Toggling back and for from structure upgrades or heatsinks, Artemis after purchased without wasting cbills is needed for different loadouts. With only making 80-100k in great games with high damage and kills/assists those prices are ridiculous. Engine prices feel ridiculous paying 3-5 mil just to try a different speed and playstyle when you have that kind of income. We can't even buy a stripped mech chassis. We have to get one with one with and engine rating that is not optimal to us, Then sell that engine at a loss and afford another one.
Also minor issue notices Why is the 70 ton cataphract so much larger than a 75 ton orion. It's pretty ridiculous how small it is I haven't really noticed that problem with any other mech except the spider. It feels like it both takes more shots and it a smaller target than relative tonnage mechs.

"All of the above" would be cheap (but true) so my main grieps in order:

1) CBILL nerf+grind intolerable. Not getting rewarded for performance, and not earning enough ingame currency to buy/elite 1-2 chassis a month EVEN WITH PREMIUM FFS: made me stop playing. No reward ingame = no $$ for PGI, that simple, kkthxbai.

2) Mech hitboxes and mech scaling are in general wrong. PGI used a system which is not adjustable on the go (for clarity: instead of 1 "slider" the can only adjust every bit separately and then restart with textures, see ATD42/6/7?), and every time they release a mech, it is borked in some way, for better (stalker small and damage is spread between thin CT and wide ST-s) or worse (Awesome, Trebuchet, Kintaro, Orion CT, Catapult head); and even "established" mechs can get their hitboxes borked up between patches, like the recent issue with Founders' Atlas.

3) Ghost heat, lol, goes under the heading "poor game design". Heat system is flawed from the start, it's like the "original sin" of the game, bandaids made it convoluted and counter-intuitive. Just have a look at smurfy's table on heat penalties, and you will cry.

4) Matchmaking broken, topped with low player count (user experience = feels like pulling teeth with the cbill nerf and all the unintuitive crab).

5) Zero real content aside from 2 (really? one) "game modes" and ... there is no "and". Nothing new developed for 2 years, CB/OB. Mechs and maps? You can't really play a mechwarrior game without them, so I think they are just requirements, not avenues for player/group progression. Ranked and unranked matches, free group sizes, leaderboards, meaningful metagame, skirmish/solaris mode, etc. The possibilities are abundant. But no, PGI does not need our money or better than 5/10 reviews.

6) Disgusting money grab. If the above points were empty, prices would still be high. But with all the problems this mediocre game has, the prices are really ridiculous. Even from the periphery, I could afford them, and I've bought premium several times, but game is simply not good enough to warrant spending a dime on it at the moment. I've spent money before the cbill nerf, because premium was worth it, but after cbill nerf, it's totally useless. So yeah, if you want to support the devs for being and remaining mediocre and untrustful for years, go ahead and pay, prance around in your heroes, but voting with wallet means no $ from me until **** gets done and done good.

TL;DR: FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU Cbill nerf. The rest is pretty meh too, but one can live with the few actually usable weapons and chassis for a couple of matches per week.

PGI managed to shape this game into a MW game which I'm NOT addicted to: a remarkable (under)achievement on their part.

I only have two gripes:

- Poptarting still being too good and too important. Look at high level playing.

- Only a few 'mechs and builds are viable for competitive high level playing.

I would add that we need wight limits, but those are coming so there's no point in adding them to the list.

There's a long list of things that could be better about this game. But numero uno rage inducing uninstall tempting thing is the hit-detection/HSR and/or hitbox issues. PGI has been failing to fix this since closed beta. Just last night I put 3x lbx-10 in a row into a standing still SDR for a light flash of armor, and little dmg (panels remained yellow). He goes on to drop my 55tonner with machine guns...

And the thing is THEY KNOW IT's A PROBLEM but just aren't able to fix it and refuse to take any measures to compensate. (like just removing broken **** until they do fix it.)

So we end up with a good portion of games ending in some anti climactic SDR chase. Fun?

PGI: The fact they will COMPLETLY ignore this thread and/or they will do nothing 'that works' about the issues brought up in this thread.

Major concerns:

#1: Hit Detection.

#2: Ghost Heat.

Gauss changes (a weapon used for sniping does not classify it as a "SNIPER_ONLY waepon" (properly mis-spelled for emphasis and IQ of FPS-players).

CommunityWarfare: Missions (contracts), salvage rights -- all need to be reminiscent of MW1 and MW2:Mercs

Collisions: Contact with enemy units causes ~1second loss of frame-rate. Lights repeatedly contacting me causes repeated loss of game-play.

Clan implementation

Minor concerns:
Unit Logos, decals.
DX11
Contacts (I invited myself to my friends' list in ~Sept? 2012 to see if it was having trouble displaying contacts. I can still accept or decline my own name, yet it returns 1 minute later regardless of what I had chosen - though, this isn't a deterrent, just an annoyance).

7. No way to rearrange your 'Mechs in the Mechlab, they just show up in the order you bought them. What if I want to arrange them by weight, or by some other means? Would that be so hard to implement? It's also slow to scroll through the bays if you have a lot of them.

This would be nice if they would let us sort our mech list. Oh and light mechs are lil ******** :)

This game should have a tourney mode like wow. Where you can play any loadout or any mech you want.

These type of games can never be balanced, its why rpg games can never have 1v1 like quake was famous for.

There is a reason the stats and loadouts of other players is not public. Because what usually happens is people just play the meta team and loadout builds and the rest of the game gets thrown out the window.p>

If you think like John Carmack, that people prefer to grind in a multiplayer, your another out of touch nerd. Society wants something that is e-sport valid like LoL, some common sense sportsmanship and fair play. This game will not have a big playerbase. But who cares as long as a dozen rich people keep the cash flowing. They can feel a sense of ownership with this game with their small little tight knit community and their elite pwning. Teaching young kids how to grow up in a fake society of slavemasters.....thats the only thing simulated in this game. IMO the beauty of video games is to make them MORE FAIR then real life. Not to immitate slaverr and the rich killing the poor.

IT amazes me there is no singleplayer or coop mode for this game, beause this type of grinding and highly customizeable attribute multiplayer is usually only a failed afterthought.</p>

EDIT: OH and whats with the team killing!?!?! not even a warning, autokick or account suspension? There are some real obvious trolls in the game, and killing your teamates is alot worse then talking trash.

ECM, Ghost Heat, Lack of robust collision system, pop tarts, True Skill's poor team balancing (should match good players against good players, not a few good players with new/bad players), LRM's are basically useless (poptarts, lack of scouting pugs, ECM), C-Bill Nerf, Poor hit boxes (spiders running more rampant than ever)

This is just a few in my opinion.

This game is very well balanced. Just the gauss that is useless now. More ammo per ton please.

Few things to add.

High Ping being paired with Low Ping MM should try to pair similar ping ranges.
Lack a report button to the ESC menu.

NO PENALTIES FOR AFK'ers

Death runs are the most efficient way to gain C-Bills and EXP. Players should be forced to stay in a match till it's finished or receive no rewards. This would make players care a little more about a win and staying alive. Opposes to pug runs into the enemy hit as many as he could (assists give more money than kills...) then quit game run another mech. (How about you give us bonus C-Bills for still being alive at the end if the match?

No Voice

Mech stops walking when I check map or type after I hit 0 on the number pad.

Thermal Vision causing FPS issues? Just started this week for me.

More game modes. This is just killing me.

Mechs seem like paper still. No one aims for weapons or cockpit. I always die from center torso being blown out. Increase the center torso armor of mechs medium-assault 10%, 15%, and %20.

Shooting people in the front registers the back sometimes (still)

Range if all weapons needs boosted 20% maps are huge. Sniping doesn't even feel like sniping.

Maps seen bland and generic. Lack of good atmosphere. It still snows inside of ice cave. Not sure how that works but whatever. Why can't mechs be affected by the terrain? 100 tons on snow hill I bet would slide and fall. 100 tons on a map with rain going down a mud hill would fall. Mechs traveling through water should be slowed. Etc. Weapons should have unlimited range on a space map. (Maybe not all energy)

Cockpit doesn't show visible DMG or weather effects. (Frost, rain, dust, and cracks in the glass.

Lack of explosions. Mechs just don't go boom. Missiles don't even really explode. All the rounds just seem like generic FPS {Scrap} from N64 days. Weapon effects are pretty important to me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Force me to stay in a match after I've died because I made a mistake in the first 3 minutes and I'll either quit completely or be a gigantic waste of space, poke all the things once and then purposely die so I can alt tab away from the game.

Forcin people to stay doesn't get people to want to get better. It makes them wonder why they're playin a game that doesnt let them play the game.

Biggest issue for me is hitboxes right now. Its so stupid that hitboxes continue to be as bad as they are and they keep releasin mechs with the same stupid hitbox issues.

Why is the pelvis always considered CT? Why does the CT encompass the entire area that pokes out of the Dragon/Jenner/Cicada? Why are LT/RT so small on so many mechs compared to the CT? Its ridiculous that this problem keeps poppin up in every single new mech necessitatin a hotfix patch to new mechs to address the issue (and it never actually fixes the issue either!). How many mechs were released and required immediate patchin to fix a head hitbox issue? How many needed their CT shrunk (and yet it never shrinks enough) because they got cored ridiculously fast? How many of the PP mechs will have these same damn issues that have been goin on for the last year? Its so incredibly dumb and there's no end in sight to this garbage.

I can agree on the hitbox suggestion the crotch should not be CT. They do need to find a way to reward team play and trying to stay alive. This "I'm the best lone wolf ever" mentality {Scrap} needs to go!

1. Matchmaking - By far this game has the worst matchmaking I've seen in any game. If matchmaking is meant to push balanced teams, why am I seeing 90% of games ending with one totally blitzing the other? And it comes in waves; you'll win 5 matches in a row that feel like training, then ELO will decide you must be a gun at the game now and that you're good enough to balance out a team of predominately newbies still in their training wheels against a team of veterans rocking their optimised builds with custom paint jobs all on your own and then you'll lose your next 10+ matches in a row. It feels like your experience of the game is being disctated by the matchmaker. Overhaul it or take it out completely please.

2. Grind - Too long to scrape in enough moolah to afford anything. I don't think much more needs to be said.

3. Convergance - Sick of having my CT cored out while the rest of my mech is untouched. Sometimes I wonder if I even need to put damn armour anywhere else seeing that it's only my CT that seems to get hit. And please don't tell me to twist my torso; I do that and whoever is shooting at me just waits for me to twist back around and expose my CT again before alpha-ing my CT some more.

4. Hit detection - this is particularly bad in my case since I'm in Aus and my avg ping is around 300, but it's no fun when even an assault mech is in front of me pounding away at me and I return fire only to have NONE of it register (it's happened a number of times). Don't even get me started on lights.

5. Content - More game modes please, the same 2 got old last century.

There's numerous other bits and pieces, but these are the main ones I feel need to be addressed.

- missing collision
- ecm/bap/narc/tag implementation far away from the tt use of them
- scaling of some mechs
- ammo explosion has to low chance happen
- weaponhardpoints to open (let there be hardpointnumbers and max-crits for them)
- SHS/DHS implementation as moneysink

- mechtrees are just copys (where is the aws 3. ppc quirk?)
- mechquirks are against the balance between the wheigtclasses (speed, heatcontainment or dissipation)
- consumables without autorefill from the stash
- consumables half of them not worth the money and the moduleslot.

- missing r&r (maybe as part of the hardcoremode?)
- 3PV in "normal" games

- bad implementation of battlemap, command and order system
- no quickchat (voicechat would not cross the gap between premades on their own and pubs on the games ts)

- MM missing wheigt matching (there should be a max. and min. weight for every lance.)
- MM not enough even matches
- MM stange premade/newplayer mixing

- Borderline to p2w with some hero-mechs
- Not F2P as promoted, there are not only cosmetical items you can buy only for realmoney.
- Not enough involving of the community in the developing (pools that the devs ignore dont count to it!)

- And a lot of things they have promised, moved to the future, taken out, ...

You want my money? Then give me more then a working alpha without any content ....
