My top 5 reasons I've had to get a refund from PGI and stopped purchasing MC.

1. HDR: Spiders are broken, again. Le sigh
2. Medium Mech viability: 40-50 avg armor does not cut it in Assaultwarrior Online.
3. Matchmaking/Lack of weight class restrictions for mechs: Welcome to Assaultwarrior Online
4. Mechlab allowing any weapon installed into any hardpoint: Lets load everything into one arm for pinpoint accuracy!
5. PGI's lack of communication and P2W hero mechs: Self explainatory.

PGI, are you reading this thread?

We are not a vocal 'minority' , even the 'proper' reviewers have given MWO low scores.
Atleast check metacritic and the Meta score, its only 64, and the user score is only 5.3 and that hasnt changed.

1) they probably aren't reading this thread.
2) It seems to be "working as intended"

For whatever reasons they seem to be totally commited to their present course.

The OP suggests that describing balance concerns is tied directly to losing interest in the game. As such, I think you're probably dissuading some people from responding because of the underlying nuance of what posting in this thread suggests. Balance issues aren't making me lose interest in the game, even if I do think there are some balance issues to address.

This. I really do, for the most part, enjoy the {SCRAP} out of this game. I've just been hesitant to throw down any more monies lately due to the fact that we seem to be heard but not actually listened to by the devs. Will i stop playing? No. Will i stop paying? Already have.

Balance concerns that are making me lose interest? Nothing honestly.

The only balance issue I have is matchmaking with tonnage and ELO ratings. Thats it honestly. If the meta shifts, shift with it. But I aint lost interest in the game though, not at all.

While obviously the terribad matchmaking and apparent complete lack of ELO are not helping, I am upset that nothing but ballistics win games anymore.

Everything is autocannons and the still viable gauss. Almost every match is decided by who has more Cataphracts and Jagermechs, and one lance running muromets and miseries is going to thrash everything every time.

Of the 24 mechs in my first drop this morning, 19 were running ballistic builds, be it AC/20s in every atlas, dual gauss and ac/20 jagers and cataphracts, K2's, gauss dragons, miseries, or dual AC orions. Basically, by not owning and playing one of these mechs constantly, I get sunk in every fight, every time, because pinpoint damage and hide is infinitely superior to anything which uses long-burn lasers or missiles.

I have two things that have the tendency to ruin the fun for me and they have stayed the same since ages.
First thing is the horrible hitbox detection on static objects. The hitbox detection on static objects is utterly flawed or at least the way the engine renders things. Projectiles hit an "object" despite visually flying around 2-5m past the object, yet the projectiles get stopped. At some points I notice that this is probably due to how the engine handles distant objects, i.e. when in advanced zoom a rock seems flat and my projectiles should go past it, but when I come closer - suddenly detail appears and the rock gets more defined and I can see why my projectile did not make it through. On the other hand that also happens on objects 50m or closer to my mech... squared objects like houses...

The other thing would be hit detection on my mech and enemy mechs - which ****** me off but is probably caused by bad-ping due to me dialing in from Germany.

Then why did you post here? I can't mislead anyone who has reading comprehension. Don't derail or post here if the title didn't agree with you. Make your own thread. I play the game less and less every week. My wallet get tighter and tighter every week. I'm not the only one. I want the game to succeed I want the game to get better, but PGI needs to hear the concerns. If I just left then I guess I must not have cared. This is me giving them a chance to fix things.

I give them till summer next year if these all of these issues are still issues I may leave, but they will know why.

1) Matchmaking. I am constantly placed in matches that are short 1-2 people on my team. I am constantly in matches with people who are DC farming. I am constantly in matches with 4-6 new players which leads me to...

2) ELO. I think ELO is a myth. I love how everyone likes to act like an authority on ELO, when no one really knows anything about ELO. I think if they're going to use ELO they should tell you where you rank (like most games do). I don't have a freakin' clue what my ELO is, but I know I get 3-4 kills a game, usually top the damage chart for my team... and usually end up on a losing team anyway.

3) 3rd POV. I understand why they added it, I am not one of the people crying "You swore you'd never do this!" It's a terrible implementation. If PGI added it so that people could understand how to control their mechs, they didn't bother explaining to the players how much better being in 1st person view is. When I am placed on a team with 3 trial Atlas' and they're all in 3rd POV the entire game, I know we're going to lose. I try to explain to these people (especially in conquest mode) how important being in 1st is so they can see their map... and they act like it's news to them, they didn't know they could do that. You're doing a terrible job of teaching new players how to play the game, and unfortunately I don't have a constructive suggestion to say better. I've been playing MW since the i386 days so... I just jumped right in and understood.

4) C-Bill earning. Don't tell me this is a Free To Play game when I've spent $339.65 on this game so far. I'm sitting with 21 mastered mechs, 8 of them are hero mechs... and I don't have enough C-Bills to start a new set for mastering. Why? Because one it's a grind to earn C-Bills even with hero mechs and because if I want to tweak one of my toys, like change an engine it costs millions of C-Bills to do it. Why would I buy more mech bays with real money when I can't afford to buy them in the first place... oh and another thing.

5) I'm sick of buying mech bays when I buy hero mechs. If I am going to buy a $30 mech, it should come with the mech bay. That's just ridiculous. I've been complaining about this from day one. This is one of the reasons why I won't buy hero mechs unless they are on sale, because I've gotta buy a mech bay to go with it.

6) Getting stuck on the dumbest stuff on maps. When they added the extra physics to hills or whatever they called it... suddenly the smallest little things will make some mechs just stop, and there's no logic to it. It doesn't seem to have size or speed involved, it seems to be unique for every mech. For example, if I take a blackjack to terra therma, I get stuck EVERYWHERE... all my other mechs are fine. Then there's other mechs where I'm cruisin' along at 105 kph and get to like a 10 degree incline and suddenly I'm going 40.... then I get to a hill and I'm going up the hill at 105 again... makes complete sense.

7) LOGGING. Everyone wants logging. Just yesterday I hit a spider with dual AC/20's, and I saw it register on his paperdoll but he didn't die... and then he killed me. I was like... WTF just happened, but there's no log for me to look at. Without a log, I don't have a reasonable explanation, and that makes me want to come to the forums and whine about it... With a log I could actually realize that I didn't hit the spider like I thought, or perhaps there is an actual problem and I could report it... which would be way more constructive.

-Utter inability to balance weapons, we could expand this to 10+ bullets

HSR: certain mechs are borked

Cbills: Grind should be content, discouraging to some new players

Modes: a. Conquest timers should be between old and new.
b. Assault should be as stated. One team defends, other is "assaulting".
c. KOTH.. Remove all the bases from conquest but Theta and reduce points. Fast and easy

Graphics: DX11, object walls are terrible (if you can see it, you should be able to shoot it).
Filmgrain?

Maps: River City night go into Sandbox and slide that "time of day" scale to dusk.

Weapons: My only issue is cockpit shake on some weapons is a little steep.

Balancing: weight balance seems to be more of an issue than skill balancing. 4 weight classes, 3 of each in match and rock on.

CONTENT: CW not here is most of your retention issues. EVERY player I know that has lost interest in the game is from the "3 month" timeframe set a year ago. Now is 6 more months a year later. You really need to be ALL hands on deck with this.

You try to sell a car with scratches and torn seats people will pick it apart. But you put a dragster engine in it and they will say "ohh this other stuff can be fixed". Put the engine (CW) in this ride and you will see the complaints over little stuff not focused on so much.

I never said you weren't part of the community, but you can make your own post or find a topic that is closer to your views. When you go into a topic and say none of this pertains to me but here's my opinion, It's not a good way to get heard. I'm not attacking anyone. I just don't understand why people go and post in topics when they don't agree with the topic. Your not helping anything and just derailing the topic, makes no sense.

The ghost heat and weapon linkage. I am a stalker player and since the energy weapons been uber nerfed and now missiles have hit resgistration problems, what the hell am i supposed to do with them ( STK 5S/ 5M/ 5F). Since they cant mount ballistic (Misery can but they are not getting money from me as long this is around) those mech are on the same page with the Awesomes, not as bad but really close.

That is a deal breaker for me, phoenix project is comming out in a matter of days now, i m still not sure if i should go for the refound or not since i m not having that much fun anymore... To think it was my favorite game before last july :/

Interesting, You say that my PGI not listening statement is off topic and needs to go somewhere else, and then you say PGI needs to listen, as if they're not listening... My point was that the imbalances and the flaws and the woeful mistakes in attempting to re-balance the game after they unbalanced the initial balancing errors, haven't made me lose interest in the game; hence why my reply was an affirmation of Gallowglas's post. Which, because it was actually discussing the topic, was on topic. Unless of course this thread is only for those who had lost interest in the game due to balance issues and anyone not agreeing with you need to go somewhere else... In that case, I yield you the floor.

lack of a more interesting game modes or CW are probably making me lose interest more than balance issues, if I had to pick a balance issue it's probably hit detection/HSR

If you're not happy with that response for some reason, sorry. When last I checked, there was no restriction about who was allowed to have an opinion and who wasn't. I'm not trying to drown out your criticisms. I'm just telling you there are other people who might contribute to this discussion who won't because, while they are critical of gameplay elements, don't want to imply they're giving up on the game.

Why am I losing interest in this game?

Not any bug or "Feature" in particular. In fact, I've never experienced any kind of ELO hell or MM issues at all. I've gotten stuck once and haven't disconnected in ages. I've seen continued improvement on the HSR front and I'm liking the direction of the weapons balancing.

THE ONE and only reason that I've lost interest in this game is because I am bored of the same old game mode OVER and OVER. This is a fantastic game... but I can only take so much of the unimaginative Assault and Conquest(Assault) that we have. I'm REALLY holding on until CW is released. That will make it or break it for me. If there's no content, then I will have to move on. Holding my fingers crossed.
