I'm not likely to pay $100+ for Win 7 to play a game when my other games run on XP.
No I won't buy a gray market copy nor will I just torrent a free copy.
A proper legit copy of Win7 is not cheap.
You can get a fully legit copy of Win7 Home Premium OEM for $85 USD. You don't have to, but you really should consider upgrading.
Edit:
You guys realize that by clinging to Windows XP, you're restricting yourself to DirectX9. Which is probably why it's not supported. Crytek 3 engine is beautiful (and surprisingly compatible with lower end rigs) but I believe it uses some DX10 shaders. Fewer games are going to support DX9 in the future, and this is far from the first to drop it.

" The same can be said for the Founder’s ’Mech’s (playable starting Aug. 7th) -- they will be unique on the battlefield marking you as an original founder of MWO, as well as providing a boost to C-bill earning for the lifetime of the product."
Are these special Mech's something along the lines of a 'gold' mech (something thats more powerfull than anythnig gained threw normal gameplay) or simply re-skined/new-shaped mech who has a direct (albiet not as shiny) counterpart in-game?
I love the currently on the rise F2P market model with micro-transactions built into it (its great for people like me who are stuck without a job at the moment), but running onto a game which has a 'buying power' model added into it always seems to ruin the gameplay and 'fun' factor, nomater how much i might like the game itself. World of tanks did this, APB did this..., both games i enjoyed playing, and even purchased some eye-candy stuff in. But they completely lost their 'fun-factor' when i started getting rolled by people in 'goldy' tanks or useing 'goldy' guns.

As for the rest, no surprises for me there. Work in progress etc. As anyone with realistic expectations or beta experience would know.

My assumption has been that the Founders 'Mechs will look special in some way (body paint/decals? a unique loadout?) that is either entirely cosmetic or just different but not more powerful. Also, I'm assuming that the c-bill bonus will be had while in that particular 'mech. Then again, I probably mis-read the c-bill/xp boost explanations, so maybe the boost is tied to account and not 'mech? Would be kinda cool if there was a perk to piloting the Founder 'Mech other than, "check out my bad *** 'mech!" (which is still damn cool, regardless!)

Can we consider Crysis 2 as a good benchmark for MW:O performance?

the sub-section you're looking for is Graphics card heirarchy chart...use that to draw your comparisons....then do your own research. i will not be held responsible for your dropping a whole months wages on a card that doesn't do what you want it to do.
My reaction to the post was initially quite welcoming.
Beta stuff - exactly what i envisioned to be fair...
Founders stuff - When exactly will the founders package be withdrawn from sale? Will you be able to buy multiple founders packs for the same account?
Date move - We've been waiting 10 years for this...it'll be painful but I'm sure we will survive.
Everything down to the euro players paragraph was as expected...yes even the community warfare delay...I would rather they get it right than put it in and then work on it.
Euro players section. This intrigued me....
You will never be blocked from continuing to play....that is good to know even though that means us euros will be playing at a 200ms deficit.
If we are able to set up servers in your region you will be given a onetime opportunity to transfer to those regions servers taking everything you own with you......This worries me. Alot. Its also brought up more questions than I had yesterday so, Mr Russ Bullock and associated parties, I would like to ask you.....
Does this mean that if we chose to transfer to a closer pug server we can never play with our american counterparts?
Does this mean i have to make a choice between latency and friends?
Why is it not possible to have a global account and then a redirect to a server depending on if it is with a pug or a match with friends in a group?
How about a simple switcher in main menu or the mechlab that lets you, me...ie the user, CHOOSE which region server to connect to?
Will i even be able to have my american friends IN my friends group?
How is having regioned servers going to be affected by the community warfare implementation in X months time?
Where abouts in the US will the servers be located? Somewhere central I hope because, on personal experience, connecting to a west coast server from the UK is akin to shaving my nethers and then applying tiger balm instead of soothing lotion.
I would love to drop sixtybux on your product but I am still worried about limitations concerning playing with my friends...if i wanted to drop with randoms then i would still be playing WoT.
Not much chance of you seeing this, i know, but i feel that i have to air my views and concerns somewhere, so instead of creating a new forum thread that gets buried in 5 hours...i would drop it here instead.
Respects and Regards,
St1x a.k.a. Nic
You could say it much better than I.
Exactly my concerns here in germany with my many friends in NA.
Oh i like copycat from the mmo-champion forums. The highest package cost a bunch, but is 120% able to play this awesome game
