considering the specs they are requiring, why is it only DX9?

I would think its due to the fact they want to attempt to accomodate lower end systems so as to attract as many people as they can to play.
I do beleive that DirectX 9.0c is highest available for XP users. And there are no doubt alot of folks still running XP OS.
Just a guess I could be entirely off base on this ofc.

Okay European players, here is the answer you have been looking for: Yes you can buy the Founders Package and you will never be blocked from continuing to play on the North American servers. Also if we are able to set up servers in your region you will be given a onetime opportunity to transfer to those regions servers taking everything you own with you.

I will hold you to your oath!!! - Legendary bought :-)

Yep, would have to agree completely... Of course, its also because the game engine is CryEngine 3 which is DX9 plus (same as crysis 2)... but at the end of the day, choice (or development) of a graphics engine that allows XP users to play is a good move.

Actually Shattered Horizons supports DX10.

Minimum specs points to the 5600/5700 series, so you might need to upgrade.

You are 100% correct friend :P My bad and I stand corrected - it was actually the first fully directX10 game (i.e. not dx9 compatible)

Uh Oh!

Now I am shopping for a new computer to run this! I can run WoT fairly well, but I don't quite make MWO's minimum reqs. I suppose I could risk it, but then I get to spend all the money at once! and may will miss days of gaming as my new computer ships.
Ugh!
What to do what to do.....

yea, I'll have to upgrade my system also to a quad core for this game, as well as 'Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm', but I'm not complaining too much as my XP system lasted a good 5 years with only 1 problem (an overheated video card). I figure that's a good life span for a computer. ;)

How do I update my Beta Profile? I've ordered a new computer (current computer would be fine but I want to rock this game) and I bought a founder's pack (originally ticked 'no' since I was going to wait and see).

If I don't get a reply here then should I send a PM to anyone in particular?

Thanks,
Hax

I think I just meet the system requirements but am slightly unsure

Windows 7
AMD Athlon X2 250 rated at 3.0Ghz
4 GB RAM
GeForce 210 1 GB DDR3

What do you guys think?

Geforce 210? What recent games can you run on that thing? That's a pretty low end card, even when it first came out.
