I dont have a confirmed answer yet. Premium accounts will either start on Aug 7th when founders get in or they will start at Open Beta.

Russ, with all due respect mate, why on earth is premium access kicking in during a closed beta? As you stated a lot of the features will still be missing and slowly introduced.
Do we, who sacrificed our young to pay for the Founders package, get this premium time back on full open release?
I'm all for beta testing the premium system but certainly not at the expense of losing out on F2P public release. That is, in my opinion, when premium access will really matter.

I appreciate getting in on 7th August and, to be honest, it couldn't come quick enough for me. But it is a closed beta! Not a complete product and still in testing. Please tell me I'm not paying good money to have premium testing access.

was posted that there will be resets after 7th of aug now and that all founders rewards would be reset each time.
so there is on idea when you premium will really start from (well maybe more the point when the last reset happens)

Still, it's a bit strange to we pay for get premium in the open beta. Not on a released game...
So even if RaNDoMPReCiSioN make a mistake on this matter (not in the closed, but in the open beta), the whole point is valid...

I think there is a misunderstanding - at least I didn't pay "for get premium", I paid to say thanks to game developers and it's never too early or too late to do it.

I didn't pay to say "Thanks" to the game developers, although I am grateful. I paid for the package on offer while helping them invest into improving the product. Sure, we who are fortunate enough to get the legendary will have our names forever etched into the game credits (and yes, I will be vain enough to go searching for it at the time. :D) Sure, we'll get very limited edition mechs to parade in the game. But Premium member access is just that - a fully commercial product which should only be used during "commercial release" - and that includes any Free To Play. It is a residual income generating mechanism that has all the time it needs after release to make a formidable fortune. Closed or open, a beta is a beta! I do believe my point (and original question) is a valid one.

Thanks to all for their thoughts so far :)

The reason that premium accounts would be enabled (free) during the beta is speed up the rate at which players acquire new mechs and equipment so more can be tested in limited time frame. I image the Premium Account status you will recieve from being a founder will actually start after there are no more resets (so Aug 7th).

During the WoT beta players were given gold (the real world money resource) daily to speed up their climb through the tanks.

If premum is enabled (free) as you say, during the beta, then that in turn implies all will have it whether founders or not. This in turn implies the premium membership is only a sales gimmick.

Free during Beta and Free after the reset are not the same thing here. It's been noted, that Founders privileges will be endowed after the last server reset. If everyone has a premium account before the reset, there's no impact on whether your premium is worth it.

"Okay European players, here is the answer you have been looking for: Yes you can buy the Founders Package and you will never be blocked from continuing to play on the North American servers. Also if we are able to set up servers in your region you will be given a onetime opportunity to transfer to those regions servers taking everything you own with you."

Thanks Russ but....Will the game play be the same? will we (euro players) get the boot if our ping rate slow's the battle? I have played "MWLL" and there server's will auto kick high ping's...please could you clarify this for us Russ.

P.S Great Update...Thank you MichaelR A.K.A BoomerZ.

Well I have better then the min specs but the game is barely playable on the lowest settings for me with a quad core. After buying the founder package I can only hope the performance improvements come sooner then later -- love the mechwarrior series but cannot afford a new PC when I just bought this one last year :-(

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
System Model HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

Processor Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz, 2001 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

Yes, they said so.

Dymitry,

Perhaps next time you can respond in a positive way that is helpful to everyone. Since you choose not to take that approach let me help you in understanding what an NDA is and why I am not in breach of of it. See below for a formal definition - hopefully you can learn something.

I will apologize to MWO for mentioning beta entry since I missed that text during my excited entry into the game. Excitement that only last a few minutes since my comp specs can't play this game without significant framerate issues. Since it was this forum thread that stated my computer was above the requirements needed to play the game I shelled out $120 for the founder package. Since that is obviously not the case all I got for my $120 bucks was having to deal with individuals like yourself that choose to be destructive on the forums vs. helping a person in need figure out why his comp won't run this on the lowest setting. Lucky Me.

However, again that is not in violation or breach of the NDA since I am not giving away trade secrets. If there are any good educated people out there I would love your help with this problem since this does have potential to be a great game.

For Dymitry:
A non-disclosure agreement (NDA), also known as a confidentiality agreement (CA), confidential disclosure agreement (CDA), proprietary information agreement (PIA), or secrecy agreement, is a legal contraact between at least two parties that outlines confidential material, knowledge, or information that the parties wish to share with one another for certain purposes, but wish to restrict access to or by third parties. It is a contract through which the parties agree not to disclose information covered by the agreement. An NDA creates a confidential relationship between the parties to protect any type of confidential and proprietary information or trade secrets. As such, an NDA protects nonpublic business information.
NDAs are commonly signed when two companies, individuals, or other entities (such as partnerships, societies, etc.) are considering doing business and need to understand the processes used in each others business for the purpose of evaluating the potential business relationship. NDAs can be "mutual", meaning both parties are restricted in their use of the materials provided, or they can restrict the use of material by a single party.
It is also possible for an employee to sign an NDA or NDA-like agreement with an employer. In fact, some employment agreements will include a clause restricting employees' use and dissemination of company-owned "confidential information."

A nondisclosure agreement can protect any type of information that is not generally known. However, nondisclosure agreements may also contain clauses that will protect the person receiving the information so that if they lawfully obtained the information through other sources they would not be obligated to keep the information secret.
