What happens when people load up in deathmatch... and run away and/or hide when they are outnumbered at the end? Turns that 3-6 min match into a 15 min search and destroy or waitfest. Will there be cries of "Give us something to end this!!"
Then the few will point back to Assault.

According to their rules if someone tries to hide and doesn't engage the enemy in a game you can report them and they will be 'moderated'

So, you're saying that if I'm "last man standing" I need to engage the enemy til I get destroyed and I can't hide and avoid enemy and thus live til the end of the round ?
If that's what you're saying then you're just plain wrong.

I'd like to see a link to that ruling. I imagine if someone is a K:D freak, and they are losing, they would interpret the situation in their best interests not to die, regardless.
Also, I'm pretty sure that is not true currently, as the cap mechanic is designed to negate exactly this. You could however possibly be reported for giving away a friendly position if they are not wanting to have said position be given away.

At this time, the Company's standing is that you cannot call people out (re: your teammates) over All-Chat to report their position to the enemy if they are hiding from combat. If they are legitimately disconnected or have remained motionless at their spawnpoint and they are the last man standing, then it's kind of assumed among players that it is alright to say over All-Chat that your last teammate is motionless at base.
However, there is an Official Thread about In-Game Griefing and the Uniform Code of Justice that outlines several of the general policies regarding what kind of behavior is acceptable/unacceptable. I believe that, in the future when a DeathMatch Mode is enabled, they will update the Griefing Thread to reflect any new rules/guidelines regarding the calling-out of your teammates in a stalled deathmatch. I assume that calling your teammates out over All-Chat [if they are hiding from the enemy team] may still be frowned upon, but you will rather be encouraged to report them to support@mwomercs.com and let the Administrative personnel contact them and take action against their account.
It will most likely be considered a form of Griefing to hide in a DeathMatch where the point is to fight to the death, hence DeathMatch.

You guys really didn't read the Uniform Code of Mechwarrior Justice?
Under Non-Participation.
If you actively fail to engage the enemy then I can report you for moderation. Sorry, I'm just a law abiding citizen doing my duty.

What if they did engage, and then stopped engaging? The rules aren't clear here. I don't think suicide is the ONLY viable option. It is, however, the only one you are presenting us.
Then again they could take potshots at 2000m before finding a new "ambush spot"
I think that rule is more against AFK farming than it is against 8v1 odds...

(Many edits required to reword post due to site scripts that change your post's vernacular - post whatever you want as long as it's in their terms. Didn't see that in the T&C, glad they took the time and effort to develop that before things like CW and game content.)

When people ask for things, sometimes they don't know what they are asking for. If you enter a DeathMatch, you're not signing up for a Death-or-be-Saved-by-the-Bell Match... you're signing up for a DeathMatch where the point is to fight to the death. If you want to be in an environment where the last man can still pull a victory, then you should try fighting in the Conquest or Assault game modes where base Capture is a viable mechanic for an outgunned team to still achieve victory.

You mean you were engaging until you realized you were going to lose and now you're not participating because you don't want to die? That sounds like it falls under willfully not participating in the game.
