The exclusive patterns they were referring to were the paint and cammo patterns on the Exclusive Hero mechs that come with the PP. It had nothing to do with the flame pattern. Which BTW did not even come into the equation untill long after the PP went on sale. It was a bonus. Are you people really so dense. They give you something for free, to say thank you for buying our stuff and you complain that they are going to have the nerve to SELL this item to other people? Which is that they had obviously originally planed on doing in the first place. The people complaining about this prove that the two most abundant substances in the universe really are hydrogen and stupidity. On a side note why does it feel like myself and about 5 other people on these forums are the only people that can rub two brain cells together and do something other than find a reason to complain about things that don't even effing matter? /rant

flame on.

Actually it does effin matter, as the description in the toast, pop up on the pheonix page, clearly state its an exclusive pattern for any of your owned Pheonix standard variant mechs.

It doesn't state anywhere that it will be on sale later on or that is the intention, and the founders mechs are an exclusive design also.

Under trading laws it would come under people not getting what they thought they we,re it doesn't matter that its free on an extra, its advertised so, once again pgi's unclear message have dropped them in hot water again.

Now PGI could get away with this if its only put up for sale for Pheonix Chasis, if its say made available for me to buy, for my Kintaro, customers would have the right to demand refunds, even after the 11th october.

However, nowhere in Bryans post does it say it going to be available for all mechs, just that its going to be available, so people might be jumping the gun abit here, and the people that think its on general release, could be the ones getting the wrong idea.

We now all wait for the 15th october, with baited breath, to see which side is wailing and nashing teeth

Might be an idea to post again Byran and clear this mess up ?

Wow! Have the Comstar HPGs being fixed and updated the last couple of weeks? There's all sorts of transmissions coming in

Good and well structured post. Now if implementation follows the plan, this is gonna be a very pleasant high gear shift :)

Though Iam a bit sad about the current standing of the game progresswise, I am more than thankfull for the honesty and above all for information.
Thank you PGI, it is appreciated.
Carry on.

Phoenix Program Injected October 15th - What to expect.

If you pre-ordered a Phoenix package (excluding Saber package) before October 15th you can expect everything to be delivered into your account during downtime on the 15th. Players who have purchased Overlord or Guardian packages will be able to select and redeem between 2 and 4 cockpit hanging items from the 6 available factions. You will be able to select any combination of hanging items.

The Storm package includes 1 Faction Cockpit Medallion; why is that not listed here?

perhaps they were saying it will be free exclusively for Phoenix mechs.
Did you get the Phoenix package just to get the flame patten?

Thanks, but we are both guessing. I wish the Devs would realize we don't know all their lingo :( *sigh*

Guys don't let the term "stakeholder" mislead you. He does not mean that there is some shadowy group of billionaires pulling the strings. He is using it in the more broad sense when talking about an organization where you have different people with a stake or role in a feature's development. So for example Alex Iglesias is a stakeholder when they bring him in to draw up some concept art.

But seriously Bryan, let's try to avoid using words like this that will be easily misinterpreted by the public at large. Especially when the misinterpretation will only inspire paranoia.

Damn... and I was thinking that it was all the folks with Fire, Pitchforks and stakes (incase there is an undead in the office when the mob arrives) :(

Methods of destruction

Methods of destroying suspected vampires varied, with staking the most commonly cited method, particularly in southern Slavic cultures.

What does ("LOD" pass) stand for?

LOD pass means they have either manually or automatically gone through the mechs in question and created versions of them for use at various distances, with varying "Level of Detail". This is a technique used in all games, on pretty much all resources in the game, to reduce load on the user's hardware.

So what they did was do some optimisation to the complexity of the reduced quality models used at a distance in place of the high-detail ones you see up close.

Automatic LOD generation can screw up big time and create models that have little to no reduction in the load it puts on the desired part of the rendering pipeline. So going through it could provide dramatic increases in the cases where a problem was present. Dramatic could mean you get a couple FPS extra when seeing distant mechs.

Big thanks (and like :() for the info being provided in advance!
Although I am not happy with the timeframe for the UI2.0 and CW implementation, I am glad we are (finally!!) getting regular updates on these topics.

Keep up good work keeping Mechwarriors updated!

Kudos for giving us an update on the production pipeline. I hope that this latest plan for getting the new UI and community warfare in proceeds more smoothly than it has in the past.

Re the word 'exclusive' in the Pheonix cammo pattern, nothing in the post contradicts the generally understood meaning of exclusive, so I still believe it will be exclusively for people who pre-ordered pheonix. If they make it generally available for MC purchase that would be a d*ck move, though they could fall back on the interpretation "It is exclusively available to those who have bought it!". This would be like saying that McDonald's is an exclusive restaurant since it serves only those who have bothered to show up and buy something :(

I love techies who just assume I know what the ***** abbreviations mean. I suppose it doesn't really make any difference, when new stuff comes out I'll be able to work out what it does. Meanwhile I'll just keep playing in the (probably vain) hope it'll get better one day.
