....And what shall they be spending their C-Bills on during the next 8 years as all those Mechs PGI promised them are slowly released to everyone else? The developers will need to invent yet another money sink! Good times.

I hold respect for PGI right up until the part where I'm supposed to part with my hard earned cash.

You must be joking... Endo-steel and double heat sinks would be the biggest cost there, easily recouped by selling parts of the Mechs you don't want / need and playing a few games.

I easily spend 4 million or so initially building a mech. I spend even more tweaking it further to my liking. My DDC has gone through a dozen or so iterations alone. There will be no shortage of sink for my c-bills, I can assure you.

If you were thinking of saving up cbills to buy the same amount of mechs, (18 with saber pack) @ 10,000,000 credit average = 180 MILLION C-bill's thats a LOT of grinding bypassed, not worth $120 but a nice bonus. :)

Only bought the Talon package and mainly bought it for the bonuses and mech bays, tbh.

12 mechs WITH mech bays and a custom paintjob + cockpit items for $80
Versus
4 Founders Mechs with tundra paint job and their mech bays also for ~$80

Economically speaking...
It's a no brainer :)

Even if you only end up liking 1 of the mechs; mechs are mechs you can always put funny builds on them

By the way I didn't like my Founders Atlas until about 4 months ago, and I didn't like my Founders Hunchback until about 10 months ago.
Mechs grow on you if you play them long enough.

Bought Overlord the day it was announced. Waiting to see how the next couple months of development go before I pop on Saber.

Have to note that I havn't seen any posts calling people that didn't buy the package fools, but that those that didn't are quite happy to chuck a few insults about

Well, comparatively at least. The pricing in some cases simply seems absurd when $50 back in the day net me +30 mechs. Of course this is a different beast and with +$30 assault mechs I have a feeling that you'd easily spend more scratch buying the 3 Battlemasters separate (plus bays) then you would on the package alone.

Of course value comes down to liking the mechs etc.

Those foolish fools! Freeloading on this Free to play game and/or it's website! I also hear rumor their mothers are promiscuous!

Yeah I really don't see the big deal. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean someone else is wrong for liking it enough to throw optional money at it. Though I do get the frustrations and disappointment, insulting any of the players isn't going to really accomplish anything anyway.

I got it for the loyalty point boosts and C-Bill boosts as the primary motivators; the other stuff is just extra. There is no way in hell I'm going to endure the entire grind to level 60 Wolf's Dragoons Clan tech the free-way, and any of the "special content" that will be available from owning certain planets (will most likely be game-changing items that are 100% necessary for survival in the meta against decent opponents). Project Phoenix gives me a lot of mechs to grind through while working up to Clan tech and the Phoenix variants will help me acquire it faster. If the Phoenix mechs turn out to be viable in the end, that's just a bonus.

I bought primarily on the value. I'm working and going to school, so my free time is worth more than my money. This pile of stompy mechs will keep me busy for months.

I got the full deal. For 18 mechs the price seemed ok with the premium time. Main reason is i need more mechs to grind. I got 71 mastered and nothing new to play. Well some bad variants left. Dont want to wait for 1 mech a month. Hopefully this keeps me going for a while.

Got the Overlord for the good deal on mechs, mechbay, PT and stuff.
Bypass the grind time needed to buy the mechs in cbill so I can spend the Cbill on tinkering them.
Plus I like the game enough to continue supporting it financially.

Also got the Saber pack because Im a medium mech junkie.

Bought it, and the Saber pack within hours of it being available. Why?
* Unseen 'mechs. UNSEEN!
* GREAT value for money.
* $110 isn't outside my gaming budget.
* I've actually pined for a 20-ton light (especially since the Flea was put on indefinite hold).
* I've always loved the Thud.
* The other four are also classic TRO:3025 'mechs, which for me is the golden era of BT.
* And finally, because I enjoy MWO enough to play it just about every night, despite its warts and shortcomings.

Exactly this.

I got it a while back, before the chaos, and I am sure that I will enjoy it. The game is still fun and I look forward to new mechs. Some of the pheonix are going to be harder to find the right loadout for my playstyle if it is set in stone but chalange accepted!

Got Guardian initially as Assaults don't interest me. But later weakened and upgraded to Overlord but that's it for me

Don't think Sabre is as good value and the interpretation of my fave Medium from my table top[ days (Griffin) does NOT thrill me at all!
