No underslung laser. Disappointed. Head looks a bit big too... And the SRM 2 looks like it's a bit bigger than it should be. I also think that the arms are a bit big and too far out maybe, or the LRM pod isn't big enough. Dunno how I feel. Might just be the angle...

It's a large laser, actually. And I knew where it was, just disappointed that they didn't leave it under the arm. They did the same thing to the Battlemaster. Such a shame.

yeah i was pretty excited when i saw the concept and it used the underslung gun.. which was different in gun placement from their other designs.

Yup. It detracts from the uniqueness

To be honest, underslinging the weapon hampers it on ridges, places the weapon that much lower and therefor you have to come over the ridge that much higher, thus taking you longer to gt back behind said ridge. I'm rather ambivalent about it.

But looking at rhe head, all I could think of was, "TANKOR SMASH!"

I really don't care if it "hampers it," I sort of expected them to make concept art and stick to it when they made the model. It was pretty cool looking and made the BM and the Thud interesting looking.

Oh no, the Thunderbolt doesn't look like the concept art! Stop the presses! Halt the Phoenix release! God forbid they make alterations to a drawing made only to look good and give a general idea of the 'Mech design!

Wow.

Seriously, could this community be a bigger group of crybabies? "WHAAAA!!!! THIS 'MECH HAS MINOR ALTERATIONS FROM A CONCEPT ART DRAWING!!!! WHAAAA!!!!". It's f**king CONCEPT ART, for giving the general CONCEPT of the design and nailing down key features, for later modification as needed.

YEah, comparing it to the concept art, the top of the torso isn't sloped, which is probably why the cockpit looks bigger. It also looks like the whole front of the torso is flat. The arms look a little high too.

Also, in regards to the underslung laser, it might come if you put enough lasers on the right arm. There's on one of three laser hardpoints being used on it.

I like the concept art more, but what they did with it isn't all that bad. Just one thing though, why no decals from the concept art? I mean, designing its structure is one thing, but these are decals, part of the paint job. :)

arn't you the only one making it as a big of a deal as it is?

the guy is just expressing his opinion that he no longer thinks the mech looks as cool as it did in concept.

hell even if he did want to refund the phoenix pack because of the looks that's completely up to him too. you're the only one making a scene here

I think the torso looking flat and not sloped is probably just the angle. (Thunderbolt is looking up, camera shot from below)

Also, there's only one energy hardpoint in the arm, I believe.
