This is the saddest news ever!
First of all, no one needs to progress faster in experience, and it will prevent people from playing for 5(!) days. Secondly, weekends do not last 5 days, if you do not know.

Please reconsider driving out people from your game with ridiculous experience gain, PGI.
Thank you very much.

Yeah, this. I'm really, really confused as to the OP's thought process here. Boggled, even.

Its probably for the best, though. I don't think there can be an adequate explanation that doesn't cause blood to pour from my ears.

Does it matter? I can earn more and more excess XP that I've got no use for (as I'm not buying MC to convert it to general, and can't afford the three variants), while watching the c-bill counter creep up with agonising slowness. Yay?

Of course, by pure coincidence, 1 hour after I read about MWO's Double XP weekend, I get an e-mail saying Hawken is doing one. Hmmmm...

Double XP weekends are a chance to reduce the experience grind for some. Business wise, they are good for PGI, since it means people "finish" their mechs faster, and want to buy new mechs, meaning an C-Bill grind or using MC.

Works out nicely for me. Not needed, but not useless.

well.. ive got 19 more mechs to get to full elite from my current stable, and wouldnt mind being closer to getting that done before phoenix mechs come out, so with regards to double xp weekend: yes! bring it!

Have no clue what you are talking about there, OP. Double EXP isn't going to run anyone off or discourage them from playing. It fact, it encourages people to play more as it reduces the EXP grind. Now a double C-bill weekend would be nice too and I'm sure that many would prefer it over double EXP. But that does not support your position that a double EXP weekend will drive players away.

While I agree that double XP isn't exactly helpful, I'm not going to complain about something free. Maybe I'll want to convert 500,000 GXP some day. Who knows?

Gain 2x the EXP, gain Basic in Chassis, realize must gain another chassis to advance, didn't make enough c-bills for new chassis, Buy MC to gain new Chassis, Priceless.

I see where the OP is coming from. If new players are already discouraged by the low c-bills gain, this will get them to that state of discouragement faster.

UNless you are absolutely terrible every game, C-bills rise faster than GXP.

It's a long weekend in Canada, so it works out better for me and mine. The only thing they could have done better is nother weekend sale with 50% off GXP conversion. I've got about 80,000XP that needs converting.

Anyway- why in the world would anybody complain about getting something for free? You aren't losing anything by double XP, you just gain more XP. PGI isn't restricting you to a certain chassis or variant, simply giving twice the XP for every Mech. It's a standard way to play games anymore- most online games will do double XP weekends, especially before a big event such as the Phoenix Project.

You know what would make me want to buy new mechs? Better prices, haha. Seriously. Not a joke. Even though I laughed. I'd love to buy ALL of them if they weren't priced like real world miniatures cast in gold.

But yeah, not sure why anyone is upset about the double xp thing. If you need it, then great. If not...I don't see how it hurts you.
