Can we please have the side bars reduced to about 1/2 their size? it really makes me feel like i have my zoom turned on when piloting these things due to the limited field of view. Mind you the entire top of the cockpit is wide open....

I'm vouching for a second seat with a tilting back so i can have my girlfriend beside me and we can gaze at the stars.

The stupid cockpit design makes me play 3rd person only in that mech.

ya know given PGI track record wouldnt put it past them for that to be their goal. Seeing how its the mech that EVERYONE has access to right now.

The cockpit is almost useless in fast pace duels with other mechs. I can't even see unless I go to 3rd person. Can you please scale it back some and remove all the clutter that makes it impossible to see? If not I may just use all my general exp to max them and bench until corrected.

It's really not that bad...
It's a small mech, it's a small cockpit.
Hop in a thunderbolt if you'd like big open cockpits. I hear there's an extinguisher for each window.

I always thought that the main role of the locust is scouting.

When i hopped into one I thought

Aehm...why is this the cockpit which is blocking more sight than any other cockpit?

I kind of immediately disliked it.

Sorry I gotta put a vote in the like it box (which will probably end up being a lonely box to be in!) for me it really adds flavour to fact you are sitting in the smallest thing on the battlefield, plus you do still have some peripheral vision it's just a little crouded... plus as touched upon above, the view through the top is awesome, as a bird watcher I have to appreciate a mech that meets my hobby needs as well as my combat ones!

You do realise that the pilot shouldn't change size with the mech, yes? Thus the struts in a Locust have no reason to be thicker than the struts in any other cockpit, and they are very noticeably more so than in my Raven and my Jenner. Given that the only thing it can do non-atrociously is the already kneecapped scout role, it would maybe make sense not to specifically hobble it in that department?

they need to let lights and med not have 10 heat sink limitations aswell.
cant build anything on the locust with 20 tons and those hardpoints.

I do. But the cockpit can. In the books, the Locusts cockpit is always described as very narrow and tiny.

I agree. The cockpit is opresive. At the start of the first match I was unable to believe it.

This is a fast moving paper mech. You need to control the battlefield and change directions all time to survive. Having a tunnel vision is a incredible pain.

Thats all part of PGIs masterplan:

why do u expect that Locust's cockpit should offer any kind of "view"

this mech was constructed by PGI to suck hard, like the other Phoenixes

players should spent their money on Phoenix, than recognize how worse these mechs are, and spent money on the next mech-sellers

thats why we have:
Locust, the "easy to kill" suicide runner
Shadowhawk the "easy to kill" tallboy
Battlemaster the "easy to kill" XXL centre torso

It is rather silly that a fragile mech that depends on situational awareness to live has the worst cockpit visibility in the game. But, hey - play 3vp and buy more mechs... I really can't believe this was an accident, anymore than the latest in oversized mediums (Shadowhawk.)
