The all energy loadout one seems to do just fine for me. Odds are, if you travel with any one of any other mech, you are not going to get the aggro. Then, you can pretty much pick your engagements at will, find the back of a heavy/assault mech, and remove all his aft end armor. You're not going to top the boards, but you can certainly give good credit to your team if you pick targets right. I.E. dont charge a streakboat.

That, and I've found that dual AMS and high speed seems to do surprisingly well at countering less than 4xSSRM2s.

I've had some good games in a 3M with 4xML+TAG.

Of course, I use CB/XP earned as a metric for what is a good game, not enemies killed or damage done:

My averages are 537 XP and 102,982 CB/match, so anything topping that is a good match in my book.

I know I said at the start that I dont care but I just pulled 418 damage with just a small laser and 2 ssrn2, Bap and a a target info gathering module.

Hugging thunderbolts and battlemasters is fun.

And I am still about 1000 exp away from speed tweaking it.

At the risk of over-feeding Omega's ego...I thought I had a pretty decent match until I saw what he did with a mech that was a quarter of my tonnage. :P

I wanna see more NON 3M scores on here, the laser boat is just too easy.

85% of light pilots can effectively pilot a Locust.

Actually you should be aware ELO matchmaking will make the games terrible for him. At the very least MM is going say his Locust = A Spider or Jenner.. At Worst... An Assault mech. :P

I did this last weekend... MUAHAHAHAHAHAH !! :P
No GXP or Premium Time required !!

Heart Breaking Loss...
The unlucky Locust.. If only he wasn't legged at that exact moment or the last heavy and assault mech NOT use the base cap against him.

Locust eats Spiders after a long long chase around Mordor.

Have you guys noticed that SSRM locks seem to take much longer when targeting a Locust? It could just be an issue with their small size and my poor framerate slash aiming, but in a number matches now it's been basically impossible to get a lock (in a Raven), or it's taken maybe four or five times as long.
This isn't a complaint, as shooting them with anything else is still so effective, but it's just been very obvious that there is a huge locking difference (for me at least) between the Locust and all the other chassis. Even a Spider or Commando with ECM can lock quicker if I'm not countering.

Hmmmmm... Nope... Tried Artemis ? :)
But I gave up on putting missiles in the S though... Settled with the ERLL so, I can more directly useful in battle. (As per the video above.)

Locusts are hilariously fun free kills. It does strike me as kinda odd though that those who paid money for them did so merely to entertain me at the expense of their own enjoyment...well unless they're masochists. :)

And here I've been entertaining myself killing people in Locusts and winning matches for my team, have I been doing it wrong the whole time?

My 3S with 3x Streaks and a Md Laser always pulls 300+ a game. But, that's because Streaks are lame and easy to use while requiring no skill.

3M is always 300-500.

Not 3M matches then, although I have pretty much same results in that variant. These were all matches last night. Leveling the locusts now that I've finished the other Phoenix mechs so was playing some games in each to get the EXP bonus.

Died, but thought 400 odd damage was acceptable (4x SRM2, 2T of ammo,1x ML)

More kill stealing!

There's probably better out there of course, but thought more evidence the locust is actually pretty damn fun couldn't hurt :)

Edit, also here's a 3M shot from last night to show how broken they are (read, awesome) compared to the others locusts.

311 damage with just 2 srm2 2tons of ammo and bap on a max speed locust.

Got a kill via death by a thousand little papercuts on a hunchback lol.
