It's not just lights.

I run at 350ms constantly (thanks Australia) I can be moving at full speed in my 5D. Fire at a stationary Atlas with an ERPPC, on my screen i hit dead centre of the back but he takes no damage. Anyone spectating me (even Australia friends) see me miss by a mile, due to server lag and my shots not landing where my screen says they do.

I can also be spextating others, watch their feed and according to my screen they are missing by half a screen or more, but the mech shows damage where they apparently hit.

Its bullshit on both sides all the time.

What I'm mad about is the screwing up of the hitboxes.

We shared the pain.. oh well..

check this one out, it's from about a week and a half ago, maybe 11 or 12 days

https://www.dropbox....a/spdhitreg.wmv

watch that.
i hit spider on apex as he's flying upwards (but otherwise motionless) with 31.5 dmg (three large pulse lasers) on his front side, even if i miss one third of the shot (maybe it goes between his legs for a fraction of the beam duration) it would still be about 20 dmg on his front side.

i made a point of targetting him after i had shot him, look at his armor!
there is DEFINITELY not twenty pts of dmg done there, not even ten!!

i send a very similar video to support and the guy tells me basically that it is intended functionality....
HAHAHAHA intended my ***!

if you don't understand what's going on, then go to smurfy's and max the armor on any spider model.
31.5 dmg should completely strip armor or at least put a few of his components in the orange armor.
but watch the video plz and tell me in your own words what's going on there

edit: my ping is about 116 - 149 usually

Bad HSR/HIT Reg + The best Chassis in the game. What do you expect ?

On another note I from reason I found ARTY to especially useful in deal damage to capping light.
Below is bad example since I died early without much of anything, no thanks to Proton.
Apparently I did 112 out of 210 damage on LawDog's spider ? LOL.. I am not sure how the heck he survived...
I guess I maimed him really good since he didn't play the game after that single strike.

My current trick is to sneaky up on capping unsuspecting light.. Drop ARTY and about <=1 sec before the ARTY drops.. Alpha one of their legs... ARTY drops... Light get legged... Easy pickings... :)

Vid quality was too bad for me to objectively judge, and the music was so horrible, I'll never open that link again.

i understand how you might get that impression from not hearing the whole song.
the bassline by john glascock on this song (heavy horses - jethro tull) pretty much inspired iron maiden's bass guitarist Steve Harris' whole career - in fact it was a milestone in metal music.
iron maiden goes to cover at least one of their songs (cross eyed mary)

and if you think iron maiden is lame then - you are beyond all hope i guess. - you're probably that kid who listened to the first minute of stairway to heaven and just closed it and went back to listening to dave mathews band or whatever you think is great.

prog rock tends to be slow at the beginning of each song. that's just how that genre works.
as for the quality, i have a ver that is 2.1 gb with great quality, but i am simply not spending 6 hours uploading that. sorry

if the novelty of how "bad" the song is gives my vid more clicks then i welcome it

Best as in Ninja class chassis... I believe the amount of tears here affirms that. :)
Second runner up is the Commando. Eg. Death Knell.

what i expect when i play a first person shooter is the shooting part to work!
if it can't even do that then it has failed in the most basic sense as a game

i guess this is pgi's idea of rock/paper/scissors balancing.

having hitreg so broken you need to have lights supporting you or you're done.

very good game design principle guys!!

Not referring to you in particular.. Referring to the 17 pages of tears collectively. :)
If this a LAN game.. Lights will probably be bottom tier...

Seeing how PGI wasn't even able to setup a LAN version of MWO at their launch part event 1-2 years back... I never expecting that to happen..

Um... those flashes your were seen registering? ya, that would be lasers just grazing over the spider.

Yep, there were also lasers, together with ACs rounds and missiles. They registered, the flashes, but werent harming the mech the way they should.

However... Lookie here... You need to L2P and L2A on dealing with lights...
Always aim for them stinking legs that is the hard part.

1- I wasnt shooting the Spider. I was inside the mech, following its camera, and seeing it resist a beating that would make assault class mechs evaporate.
2- Already aim at legs when targeting lights.

The people shooting at the spider don't know what they are doing.
Also as mentioned before... That was a zombie spider.. Not shooting it's legs off was even more silly on the part of the attackers...

I am also wondering whether Spider have that 50% damage resistance when shot at arm stub ability that Cents have.

Basic rule of the game: If an attack hits a component that is destroyed, 50% of the damage is applied to the next component over. Works on all mechs.

I guess... That's probably why the zombie spider appears to be able to take more damage than it should.

1. It was relevant because this of 'weenie'-esque handling of this LONG TERM issue.
2. The audio quality, in of itself, is much more tolerable than in that other video.
3. It's funny.

So, yes, MUCH better.

I did laugh listening to the song. It took me a few seconds to make sure that what I heard was actually what I heard.
