Crimsom Straights conquest. If you spawn on wrong side it's GG.

I frequently win on both sides of the map, but it all comes down to who you drop with that makes it work or not, and knowing the basic strategy of that map. That said, on my {Scrap} maps, I haven't the slightest clue how to survive them, but I'm getting better.

An excellent solution to this is also to drop with a group. Even a single person with you makes it worth while.

Anyone who quits due to the map is a pansy. There is no other reason. It is too hard for them, they do not like it because it is not easy, they would have to think, or adapt. Every time I see a disconnect right after the map is announced I know I have just witnessed another player from the shallow end of the gene pool. They just can't hack it and bail.

There are maps I don't really care for, but I'll never DC for that. I'll play wherever I'm dropped.

This is the only correct line of thinking, at least until they have map voting in or some other way of avoiding those maps you don't like without it "costing" your fellow players a defeat.

always when i have to play the same map 3 times (or more) in a row, i have the urge to have an unintentionally game crash...

cmon, how hard is it to create a rule in the match maker that a user do not have to play a map 2 times in a row?

Get ready for all one map campaigns unless they're piling up a ton of stuff for release with CW in regards to maps and just not saying. Oh look, all Terra Derpa or Alpine Peaks! It could very well happen.

And since with MM's current state, Suicide is the only non-penalty way of opting out, you may as well not lose base XP/CBills for having your time wasted.

Although this is for solo drops advice only. If you're with your lance, butch up, Sally Frillypants. You've a job to do.

Well, I only ever intentionally DC if I accidentally clicked the launch button, but If I get Tourmaline, Terra Therma, Tourmaline, Alpine, Terra - or something to that effect, essentially nothing but maps where slow mechs run around for 20 minutes getting left behind or being unable to personally RTB, then I do shut the game down for a while and do something else.
Basically, It's a mix of mech selection + huge/hot maps + team behavior that goes bad several times in a row that makes me sick of the game and ready to quit for the day, after the match. But I never leave a team in the lurch if I can help it.

Generally speaking I never quit once deployed because it leave the lance short on firepower; however if I had to say which map makes me cringe when it comes up, it would have to be River City Night. It's the Night aspect in a FIBUA environment that I find distressing.

No I never quite a MWO game for any reason, including what map I get dropped on. Games are so short it really doesn't matter. I also happen to enjoy all the maps, although some more than others. However what does annoy me is the rotation of maps. I seem to be stuck with an abundance of Terra Therma, Forest Colony, River City and Crimson Strait. The odd time I'll get Frozen City or River City Night. I haven't seen Caustic Valley in almost 2 weeks and played on both Frozen City Night and Alpine Peaks once each in the last week. And I usually sneak in 4-6 games a day.

Putting newer maps in heavier rotation makes sense, but Forest Colony?

my 12 man had 3 terra therma matches last night - 2 of them were back-to-back, vs the same team, on the same spawn. ZZZZZZZ.
I'm starting to hate the layout for that map.

Ok I wont ever actually quit, but I hate river city/night. its just to darn small for 12v12 and you get stuck on everything.

I just don't like terra therma. Even though it is a gigantic map it features only very few open fields that are suited for sniping. It is so big but visibility is terrible because there is mountains everywhere.

Tourmaline has a much much better design. It has a lot open space but also many canyons, depressions and obstacles. It is a healthy balance of both worlds. There are covered routes for brawlers or mixed builds and great positions for snipers.

I might try to rationalize why I just dont like it. But for the above - or other - reasons I just don't like it at all.

Before Terra Therma I hated river city at night most. It still is ugly and bad at night but I dont have this 'oh nooooo' moment when it starts.

I don't quite games but when I get Terra Therma 2 times in a row then I just can't play it a second time.

If I could modify the map pool to my personal taste I would completly drop Terra Therma and River City night. Third place would be Frozen City Snow Storm. But that isnt nearly as bad as the first 2.

Rest is all fun and good.

Never quit a match before...

I dunno, map choice never bothered me. It can be tiring when you do a bunch of the same maps in a row... but you know, learn to swim girls. You might even have to change your strategy once in awhile!

I guess I wasn't alone in that decision. Not that I ever quit a match, unless the game forces me to.

But Terra Therma is getting on my nerves, the game really loves to give me that map 3-4 times in a row.

Crimson Strait = beautiful map, but why did they concentrated artificially, that only really two ways ? and alternative routes are blocked? Most maps are designed for quick close combat, and Terra Therma is against the concept art a tight maze where ever all stand in your way, why not everything and walk a little flatter? why everything narrowed by huge steep rock? the same as in Canyon, the most maps I feel like Pacman: (.. why can create other games which of course good maps (BF2/BF3/BF2041/MW4) do not work but MWO...only very good Maps =Caustic and Tourmaline
