I don't happen to have a scale, but the K2 weighs just a bit less than that pewter stalker pictured.

I wish I could test out all the materials! Printing out the models in simple white plastic at that size would only be 10 dollars or so. Steel, on the other hand, is pushing 40-50.

As for the files, PGI already gave them to us! With respect to 3D printing, if you're not interested in poses like other model makers have, PGI has already done 95% of the work for you. It's just a matter of cleaning up the model and making changes to your liking prior to printing. If you scroll down on the forums there's a good post describing how to extract what you need.

If you look at Iron Wind Metals, you might actually find the mech you are looking for. If you are really adventursum, you can ebay for the unseens and 80's variants.

I would and do. But some TT designs are just plain ugly or bland or PGI just made a cooler version.

It's sad really. Yesterday I started doing 'model evaluations' to find out which IWM/Ral Partha minis look good enough to be displayed/played along with potential 3D printed MWO minis, and I died a little inside.

I found (rougly) 10% good enough, with another 15% or so 'barely plausible'

Of course, this is not IWM fault - I've never had problem with actual quality of their minis (except scaling). Problem lies elsewere - in the horrible, horrible artwork that haunts battletech like Freddie Kruger (well, both are nightmares from the 80s) since the beginning of IP

Welp, the cicada is a COMPLETE and utter ******* failure , so do not try to print it (same one in the folder). I give up on the cicada, very time I fix a issue another ******* one pops up, so **** it! As of right now only the phract and cent seem worth a damn, and the awesome is as of yet untested but cleaned up. BUT yet they printed the cicada the first time around without the cockpit and a hole in the back just fine? BAH! Maybe someone could ever be so kind as to help me fix the little *******. HBK ANGERY , HBK SMASH!

Yea, I do not blaim IWM. In truth I tend to get the minis that I like the look of or ones that I find nostalgic from the old MW games. In truth the only TT battletech game I played was the one by wizkids, and good god I have alot of that stuff around and in storage. However it has been AGES since I have played it, or at least feels it...

Nope, the catapult gave very few problems compared to the cataphract. I did have to manually remove the missile boxes and add the PPC mounts, however.

As for the cicada's open spots, why not try creating simple rectangle objects in Blender and fit them 'underneath' the windows? You can do that with the cataphract as well, to cover up the open spots on its arms and torsos. And howcome you haven't made a hunchback yet- seems like one of the easier ones to do :D

I did that for the cicada, but in doing so I made it unprintable because somehow a compeltely unrelated section was listed as wall too thin and not connect, that section wwas really, LT, RT and the whole legs. Not outside of me looking at and fixing, but just pissed, and I just found out what happend today, and it was not really something I did myself, but changing guidelines.
I tried the HBK, but been lazy about fixing it. All I need to do is make the shoulder thicker and done, but eh, I am going to redo it all but the wasit , head and CT because I hate that ugly *** pose. ALSO.

Have a Victor and a fixed YenLoWang. And Yes I know I messed up on the Victor a little, 39 meshs with me doubling some.

Still in pending to be printed. 28 bucks to print.

18 bucks to print. Still in pending and the ****** better print. The changing guidlines has made printing this sob a nightmare almost. And yes, CNT9D and CNT9A versions too. I intend to rebuild the victor and correct errors I made in pose and mesh problems. I might redo the cent into a walking pose, maybe add some firing action. I will be doing a HBK, ALL of them, but only after I get this **** done. THe first YenLoWang and Victor will be going to Overki!!, but non of you should know him as he is not a forum goer.

EDIT: Also, I am going to do a Urbie bobble head.

Lookin' good. You are using the automated method provided by the guy over in the PGI art thread for pre unassembled mechs, right? And then just posing from there?

Yes, for the most part. The Victor though had to be pieced together from 39 other meshs.
