He knows the same way I know. Wild Hog, along with myself and anyone else who's spent months or more at the HUB knows the other players that play here with us. I can look at any end-game and say: okay, those guys are from the hub, and the rest are not. Even if we weren't there, we can TALK to the people who are involved in the drops if we know them. When someone accuses our friends of something they are not guilty of, we defend them (as long as they weren't purposely being douches). And before we defend them, we talk to them to figure out what is up before we open up our mouths/type.

Sounds like you've been fisted? If so, it was probably because you were running away...

Go troll someone else, please, Texas Merc. Or, if you ARE going to troll, at least THINK before you make groundless attacks on people.

So you guys aren't sync dropping? cuz i have been apart of similar events(weekly) and its very easy for 10-12 to get on one side.

I think the debate you're picking up on is in regards to whether we're using Oktoberfest as a way to sync drop to our advantage, and that's simply not true.

1. The guys are all mixed and matched when they show up. Players aren't paired with each other for effectiveness in combat; rather they are paired in the hopes of building the Steiner community as a whole. I tell my Devil Dogs to spread out and NOT form all Devil Dog four mans for Oktoberfest. I tell them to get out there, meet people, and have a good time - and we have a GREAT TIME!

2. The sync drops typically don't work to any advantage, though sometimes we do luck out and get 3 lances on the same team. But I can tell you that twice we had a sync drops where 3 of our lances were vs. 2 of our lances. In both cases, the 2 lance team + 4 pugs beat the 3 lance team. I know that my lance dropped against the SAME lance 5 times over the course of the evening. It became quite amusing as the other team groaned and moaned. (We were beating them senseless every time.)

Texas Merc, I'll tell you what: join us next week. See what it's like. I think you'll laugh a lot and have a great time like the rest of us. In fact, I guarantee it!

hey man im not saying it isnt fun I do the marik madness and the CI drops all the time and sometimes we fill up a whole team. I am saying that dismissing that these things happen and getting mad at dudes for posting screenies is wrong.


PGI cant give us lobbies or whatever so all the community stuff is way cool. Add me in game and i will def drop with you guys.

e: I guess what im getting at is that the approach to someone who gets on the other end of the drop is wrong.

Guys, I accept that 12-Steiner PUG-stomps are not the intention of this community event. I also now know that 12 Steiner PUG-stomps are less frequent than they seem.

They seem frequent because more Steiner-aligned players happen to be on the servers at the time of day when I most frequently play.

I trust this can put the matter to rest and that everyone can go back to enjoying their beer and schnitzel .

I had some fun with the synch drops this Friday. We achieved our goal of playing with new blood. I think I enjoyed playing against the other synched pilots more than facing a group of pugs. I think if we get enough interest up we can try doing the 12 v 12 synch drops but it will require more participants.

In the mean time chatting with folks while blowing up mechs is making Friday a fun night. I suggest more show up to play and enjoy the friendship and the beer.

I see a lot more Steiner PUGs than I do most the other houses, maybe with Davion and Kurita up there as well. It's not uncommon for me to end up in a 4 man Steiner lance when I solo drop.

Between the party atmosphere, and folks running weird builds or just piloting drunk, even a 12 man synch drop is rarely super effective (I think last friday I ended up in a 12 man vs 8 man all from the HUB, it was a great fight)

And personally id like to thank you Peiper. You run a clean show and its always alot of fun. The cringe i get when i hear the map call out and 4 lances get the same map. Its like a roulette of who is about to get the 12 man boomstick aimed at them. And then share a laugh at the end of the match.
