I'm not sure if this question has been answered already, but where are the Uziel and Star Adder Mechs?

The only previous experience I have with the BattleTech universe was with MechAssault 2 for the Xbox, and I would love to play as those mechs again. Good times.

Also, I would love to see the Mad Dog and Thor mechs make a comeback. Is there an equivalent in MWO that is just under a different name?

Mad Dog, Star Adder and Thor/Summoner are all clan mechs which are under development right now (not sure about those 3 exactly though). Uziel if they stick to the timeline is 4-5 years away (but if they get all other available mechs in they can jump the timeline a bit).

Current year in-game is 3050. Uziels don't enter production until 3063.

The other mechs are all Clan, so far the game is entirely Inner Sphere. TPTB have said that the Clans will be in-game, the question is when. My guess is late next year.

Whoops Escef is right, I for some reason though it was 3060! And yeah the earliest I imagine we would see clans would be April.

No probs, I had to check the Master Unit List because I didn't know the date off the top of my head, I just suspected that it was later than you said. I was a bit surprised that you were off by almost 10 years. Figured it was closer than that. ;)

Its even worse than that the Uziel didn't hit production lines until 3065 (is it sad I went off and pulled my tech journal from the cupboard?), 15 years away on current timeline... Always count myself lucky that my favourites have already been catered for... cept the Uller (Kit Fox) soon tho... soon...

about a decade away for the Uziel. Timelines my friend. This game takes place before the MechAssault games.

Clan mechs in the initial wave. They are the original 16 clan Omnimechs:

Clan name / IS Designation
Firemoth / Dasher
Myst Lynx / Koshi
Kit Fox / Uller
Adder / Puma
Viper / Dragonfly
Ice Ferret / Fenris
Nova / Black Hawk
Stormcrow / Ryoken
Mad Dog / Vulture
Hellbringer / Loki
Summoner / Thor
Timber Wolf / Mad Cat
Gargoyle / Man O' War
Warhawk / Masakari
Executioner / Gladiator
Dire Wolf / Daishi

Then we have the Clan support Battlemechs and Omnimechs:
Hunchback IIC
Clint IIC*
Jenner IIC
Shadow Cat**
Highlander IIC
Orion IIC
Guillotine IIC*
Arctic Cheetah / Hankyu**
Huntsman / Nobori-nin**

* Possible but neither chassis has been announced on the IS side.
** Appears later during the Clan Invasion but currently in service during the timeline

The remaining support mechs were known to have been used and the IIC versions do not differ in weight making them relatively easy additions to the game. Whereas other IIC versions differ in weight and thus make things more difficult. There are multiple other desgins I haven't listed but more or less enough to equal the IS in terms of variety.

Also the Star Adder doesn't exist outside of the Mechassault games. What you're looking for is the Blood Asp, which doesn't begin production until 3059 by Clan Star Adder (where they got the variant name from).

Mechassault's variant system was weird, naming different variants as if they were totally different mechs.

Quote

  • Catapult / Bowman
  • Mad Cat / Timber Wolf
  • Thor / Summoner
  • Loki / Hellbringer
  • Vulture / Mad Dog
  • Cougar / Puma
  • Blood Asp / Star Adder
  • Uller / Kit Fox
  • Nova Cat / Wendigo
  • Raptor / Stiletto
  • Atlas / Prometheus
  • Raven / Corvis
  • Uziel / Belial
  • Owens / Hackman
In the case of the Mad Cat, Thor, Loki, Vulture, and Uller, they used the Inner Sphere names of the mechs separately from the Clan names. Some of the names of variants were never used as other mechs outside of Mechassault and some of them (ex. the Bowman, Puma, and Stiletto) took the name from a completely separate mech.

Edit: Should also be noted that the Ragnarok/Ymir never existed in any fashion outside of Mechassault and has so far not been made canon through any other means.

Uziel doesn't begin production until 3065 and doesn't have 3 variants until Jihad era which is so far in the future as to be beyond consideration.

There is no canonical "Star Adder" mech however clan Star Adder does produce the Blood Asp mech which is what the Star Adder mech in Mech Assault (which is an unholy abomination) was likely based on. It was introduced in 3059 so you can expect it in 9 years if pgi maintains the 1 to 1 timeline.

The Mad Dog, Summoner, Hellbringer, Storm Crow, and the rest of the TRO3050 clan mechs will likely come out next year.

I also suspect the first batch of clan mechs will include the Clan Tech versions of the Shadow Hawk, Locust, Jenner, Hunchback, Orion, Highlander, and possibly Griffin as well as 2 or 3 of the TRO3050 omnimechs from each weight class (like the Timber Wolf, Summoner, and Mad Dog).

Master Unit List says 3063 for the model 2S.

Fair enough, sarna said 3065 and I didn't bother to look further.
