I think I will cry if its a Banshee. I know some of y'all love them, but can we honestly say it won't quickly become another awesome?
I hope its not a cyclops either, we don't need another mini atlas, unless there is a variant with ecm.
So what does that leave us?
Zeus?
Bleh.
Here's hoping that its a scary ballistic assault or the superurbs, the imp.
Thoughts?

Sadly.
We could really use another 100 tonner.
Crustacean Monarch would be sweet. Don't want to derail my thread into one of those threads though.
I have to look at the banshee variants, but my understanding is that it would end up like the orion, underwhelming.

Clyclopse banshee and Zues all fit the bill of awkward and doing nothing thats not doable already in game so they are the most likely contenders, Thug is also pretty likely though the Hatamoto-chi would be nice but visually might not be what PGI is looking for - its variatns however allow for alot of wiggle room.
EDIT: I stand Corrected about the Hatomoto

I don't want to see a 'ballistic' mech though
Cyclops, Banshee or Zeus will do me fine, the rest to can keep in storage until Terra Therma freezes over.

I can promise you that.
The dual UAC20 direwolves are going to be nightmare fuel the likes we have yet to see.

I get the feeling its going to be the direwolf pilots crying more, I should imagine the jam rate will be massive, and the recovery time, or one weapon will completely break the game.

Really fits the lore over 5000 were produced its 95 tons. Massive 380 Eng.
Basic Banshee:
Energy and ballistic hardpoints.
PPC, AC 5, small laser
BNC-3s:
285 eng. 2 PPC, AC 10, 4 m lasers, SRM 6, 2 small lasers.
BNC-3M The 3M was the first attempt to truly alter the original Banshee and increase its raw firepower. Produced by the Capellan Confederation the 3M replaced the Autocannon/5 with a second PPC and installed two Medium Lasers. While this does increase the firepower of the 'Mech, it puts an incredible heat burden on the machine as well.[
There is custom variants including:
BNC-5S Vandergriff A custom BNC-5S piloted by Solaris VII duelist Victor Vandergriff during the Solaris riots. The weapon loadout is similar to a standard BNC-5S. Two ER PPCs are the main armaments, one mounted in the left arm and the other in the right torso. A LB-10X sits in the left torso. The two medium lasers of the original are retained in the left arm. The right arm contains a small SRM-4. Finally, four jump jets are added for increased mobility.
- Marshal Sharon Bryan piloted a Banshee during the invasion of Huntress until it was destroyed by a Smoke Jaguar Cauldron-Born. Her variant used two PPCs and one Gauss Rifle, likely a -5S model.
So I think this will be the next assault. Not confirmed in any way but the fact that there is a ton of written lore. Plenty of choices for Hero and Champ mechs. Also 3 variants that are viable right out of the box With a few modifications like double heatsinks.
Thanks
