Well you can tell the weather is getting colder and more people are staying indoors (the temps around here are hitting -17 F today). I've noticed that the number of regular players on line have been steadily increasing along with a consistent influx of new 201st recruits has been making for plenty of pilots on line almost all day long.

I want to extend a warm welcome to all of our new recruits and invite those pilots still looking for a place to warm their toes and hibernate for the winter to come on over and join in the fun.

See you on planet...
I know exactly what you mean Goof...yesterday morning it was like 63 F. I totally had to wear a sweatshirt over my shorts and t-shirt to work. :P

Yeah, it's been unseasonably warm here, too. The snow all melted for Christmas :D.

I fear you're misunderstanding me Mag. Here on the island nation of Hawaii, 63 F is so cold it's nearly a "cancel school" condition. Weathermen go outside in thick parkas to show the populous how truly awful the weather is. Some of the homeless even have to put on shirts...IT'S NOT EVEN ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! Oh, the humanity...

I think the coldest I've ever seen up here was -22o C (-7o F). I know there are plenty of worse places, but that was cold enough for me...

Lubbock, TX! That whole video is actually shot while driving through the center of town, not outside on a highway, you just can't see any of the buildings because the dust is too thick.

At about 3:50 I'm driving through the Texas Tech campus, actually.

Blessed Blake protect us. I wonder if that's how Dustball got its name.

Oh, I think we may have forgotten to mention that we have our own ComStar representative...come to think of it, that little tidbit may not help recruiting as much as I first thought...

Bah, I wouldn't trust those pseudo-religious ComStar nutjobs as far as I could throw them. Which is probably pretty far in Emily's case :(

Have you ever had a friend who was so deeply religious that you find yourself wondering "This person seems completely normal, but I can't shake the feeling that they're going to wake up one morning and do something bat-**** insane because they think God told them to"?

I know this is only tangentially related, but so far I'm only aware of knowing two people who thought God had spoken to them (both outside of the 201st). Neither of them actually did anything sinister; one became a priest in the Church of England and the other one cleaned up his life and went to university. There was also a very religious Malaysian girl I knew who just vanished one day. No idea if that was related to her religion, however, or if it was something else.

Those both sound like good outcomes to me...

I jest about knowing somebody who's done something claiming that a deity spoke to them. Sorry Clas, no good story for that.
