Not much else in the pre-clan timeline can pull a 1:1 Damage to Weight.

When I first read this sentence, I thought you were sarcasticly suggesting that a commando should be expected to average about 25 damage per match

I think that expectation might be a bit high. :)

And LoPan, I thought you were a Commando pilot at one point. Was it Commando, Raven, Locust? Is that the order you went in?

I started as Raven, then my next Lights were Spiders, then Commandos, Locusts, Firestarters. I have never actually piloted a Jenner in my life becuase I like a challenge.

Aren't Firestarters the same weight as Jenners, but with more weapons slots?

No. Because...no. Also, the Huginn is not what the hero Jenner should have been while the Oxide is not what the hero Raven should be.

Am I right in thinking that those two and the CPLT-A1 are the only three 'Mechs in the entire game that have no energy slots?

There is a Shadow Hawk and a Wolverine (and others, I'm sure) that only have one energy hardpoint...

My Wolverine has a face laser!

Introducing the first ever King of Strykers Tournament! Have you ever wondered who’s the best of the 201st? Does a little bit of friendly competition sound good to you? Do you just really really really want to show that ******* LoPan that he’s not such hot ****? This is your opportunity!

The King of Strykers Tournament will be held in the Month of June and is open to all 201st Strykers members. There is no entry fee, though for some stages of the tournament there might be a C-Bill cost requirement if you don’t have a ‘Mech that meets the specifications.

KoS will take place in four stages, each lasting one week. Points will be awarded for achievement during each of the stages, and at the end of the month the highest point value will win the coveted title King of Strykers along with a custom forum signature for use on the 201st Strykers forum and the MWOmercs.com forum. If I can convince him we might even get Clas to give you a special Teamspeak server emblem.

This is not a bracket style tournament like those losers at PGI put on. This is WAR! Prepare for a multitude of challenges the likes of which you have never seen! This is competition 201st Style!

WEEK ONE: BRAWL FOR ALL

Mech Requirements: No ECM, No Lockable Missiles (Streaks/LRMs), No Modules
Team Size: 1
Location: Crimson Straits
Goal: LAST MAN STANDING
Awards: 1st Place 20 pts, 2nd Place 10 pts, 3rd Place 5 pts.

The Brawl for All is a simple affair that separates the men from the boys. The competitors will form a circle on the island in Crimson Straits. They will then turn their backs to each other and turn off their HUDs. On the word go it’s every man for himself. Failure to remain on the island will result in a disqualification. This is in close and cut throat, so BRING YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES CAUSE THIS IS GONNA BE BRUTAL!

If there is more than one ‘Mech left standing at the end of the round due to a team victory then those MechWarriors will immediately drop into a duel in the exact same ‘Mechs they just piloted.

WEEK TWO: TERRA THERMOPYLAE

Mech Requirements: Competitors: Any. The Horde: Stock Mechs, No Assaults, No Modules
Team Size: 2
Location: Terra Therma
Goal: HOLD THE LINE!
Awards: 1st Place Team 30 pts, 2nd Place Team 15 pts, 3rd Place Team 8 pts. +2 points per kill.

They are coming. Are you badass enough to stop the horde? Grab a friend, hop in your best ‘Mech and get prepared to try. You and a friend will be all alone against a full team of enemies running stock ‘Mechs. Your goal? Hold Theta for as long as possible. The competing team move to the crater while The Horde arranges themselves at the access to Mount Doom’s bridge in the valley below. They can only approach from the bridge. On go the competing team must hold off this horde of stock ‘Mechs for as long as possible. The match is over when The Horde caps Theta or destroys both competitors. Scoring is based on time. The longer it takes the better you’re doing. YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE!

WEEK THREE: BACK TO BASICS

Mech Requirements: No Modules, Stock Mechs From The Following List:

LCT-1V
COM-2D
SDR-5V
FS9-H
JR7-D

CDA-2A
BJ-1
CN9-A
HBK-4G
TBT-5N
GRF-1N
SHD-2H
WVR-6R

DRG-1N
QKD-4G
JM6-S
TDR-5S
ON1-K

AWS-8Q
VTR-9B
BLR-1G
STK-3F
BNC-3E
AS7-D

Team Size: 4
Location: River City
Goal: WIN THE DAY
Awards: 1st Place Team 30pts, 2nd Place Team 15 pts, 3rd Place Team 8 pts.

Back in the day we didn’t have double heat sinks, or 360 degree target retention. We didn’t have air strikes or XL Engines either. When Battletech started it was stock ‘Mechs, no variants, no optimization. To brought it, you fought it, you died in it. ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO PILOT A 3025 STOCK PRIMARY VARIANT?! Get in your sucker and ride. Lances will be assigned based on a draft format, with the lowest score in the tournament so far getting first pick. Once teams are assigned it’s as easy as a four on four skirmish engagement in River City. Try not to embarrass yourself.

FINAL WEEK: DUELS OF DESTINY

Mech Requirements: Any
Team Size: 1
Location: Alpine Peaks
Goal: BE A BADASS
Awards: As Follows

Winner’s Awards:
Win Your Duel: +10 Points
Don’t Lose A Section: +4 Points
Win Against Heavier Weight: +1 Point per 10 Tons
Win Against Higher Ranked Opponent: +2 Points per 10 Points Higher Ranked Than You
Win While Legged: +2 Points
Win While Out of Ammo: +2 Points

Losers Awards:
Per Enemy Section Destroyed: +2
Per Weight Class Higher Than You: +1 per Class

CHALLENGES:
Begin Match Legged: +2 Points
Two on One: Double All Positive Points Bonuses
Three on One: Triple All Positive Points Bonuses
No HUD: +2 Points
Win With Headshot: +6 Points
Win By Legging: +2 Points
Kill With Machineguns: +2 Points
Kill With Small Lasers: +2 Points
Kill With Flamers: +5 Points
KIll With Collision: +10 Points
Win Without Ballistics: +2 Points
Win Without Energy: +2 Points
Win Without Missiles: +1 Points
Win In Stock Mech: +6 Points

PENALTIES:
Win with AC/20 Shot: -2 Points
Win with UAC/5 Shot: -2 Points
Win with PPC Shot: -2 Points
Win Against Lower Ranked Opponent: -1 Point per 10 Points Lower
Win Against Lower Weight Class: -1 Point Per Class
Piloting a Jagerbomb: -2 Points

The Duels of Destiny are simple. Pick your ‘Mech. Call out your opponent before the match. You may declare which weight class he is to bring if he has a ‘Mech in that class he considers competitive. This is a one on one duel to the death. Only the MechWarrior making the challenge earns points for this fight. This will continue throughout the week until each competitor has made two challenges and fought them, win or lose. The fighting will take place on the open fields of Alpine Peaks. THIS IS THE KNIFE THAT CUTS THE UMBILICAL CORD! BABIES WILL BECOME MECHWARRIORS! EN GARDE!

Note: Stock Mech means you buy it, then you don’t touch it. The loadout must be exactly as it was when you bought it. No Endo-Steel, no Ferro, no Double Heat Sinks. No Moving ammunition or switching out weapons. No increasing or decreasing armor. No modules. The only thing that can be changed is the paint job.

I want to be part of the Horde! Also, Back to Basics looks interesting...not sure how long it's been since I piloted any of those 'mechs in their stock load-out.

...um...join us now to be eligible to compete...or something...

Indeed!

Also, inclusion in The Horde does not preclude anyone from participating in the rest of the tournament.

Also, please note that the CPLT-C1 Catapult has been added to the list of acceptable 'mechs for the "Back-to-Basics" 'mechs, so...yay!

I still have no idea why The Bretheren are advertising on everyone else's threads. Any idea?

It's not even and advertisement for them, really...if his signature weren't there, you'd have no way to get to their page. Maybe he wants to be part of the Horde!*

Wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a blessed and safe Memorial Day weekend. Please take time while gathered with loved ones, competing in the Faction Revenge challenge, or whatever else you may be doing to reflect on the sacrifices made on our behalf by men and women in uniform around the world. From the greatest generation to the current one, I was privileged to stand shoulder to shoulder with people who were alike in character to men like Richard Winters and Michael Murphy.

"All gave some. Some gave all."
