I have to wonder if there's going to be over-exposure of the brand now, 2012 is the Great Flood of Battletech.

I am very worried about this to be honest. Always having more battletech is indeed a good thing, but my wallet can only be abused so much.

It really sucks when it comes down to having to make a choice of what to play.

Yeah, but my time wallet... think of my TIME wallet!! ;)

Plus the wife is nagging me about kids. They don't need a father to spend time with them though right?

Nah, I hear they are pretty self sufficient.

Sell them for money and then buy mechs...

Also have to remember that even though its free to play it wont stop me from somehow spending 60$ in each (retail title value) to support it.

Considering a brand new retail game over here costs $100-$120.

$60 would be great.

Moreso for the fact it will be the first game in a long time that deserves that pricetag. (no copy and paste then release for premium price, cough modernwarfare)

Anyway....You cant be telling me you want you're new standard of how much a new release game title to cost should be $100 for Xbox, $120 for PS3 and $99 for PC? :P I believe the retail giants over here laughed and said "We charge so much because they're willing to pay it!" publicly once when a news station decided to go investigate why the prices were double that of the US :D

Or 2012, the year BattleTech got greedy and F'ed it all up by not controlling their license correctly.

Especially if the titles are similar in quality and design.

Then we get to go another 10 years without a new title.

Friendly reminder to get those questions in for the next podcast! Also; what will we see? New Mech (4th Wend, of course!) and if so what will it be?

I think they are overdoing it a bit with all these BT (games and TT) releases coming on top of each other but would see MWO and MW Tactics as complementary to each other so hopefully it will be fine (and have no interest in anything iCrap or otherwise Apple related). Just do not want a glut of BT stuff now and then another eight year drought.

... hmm.

Shameless plug: http://mwomercs.com/...post__p__126882

For all the Tech-geeks who love battle mechs and really want to know about them. I hashed it out as a service to the community. May my burnt braincells serve everyone else.

...and no, You don't have to read it all at once!

I broke it up into sections that, for the most part, build on each other.

Reading chunks of it now, good stuff I got to say. Along with your manifesto I seriously hope you continue to write stuff like this.

We've only received "glimpses" into the game economics so far. That's a shame. When do you think this will be moved to a discussion subject, and what do you think the "planetary economics" will be like? I can foresee Daeron saying "I want it all!", and I would have to agree with him on that point. However, I don't see house/faction warfare needing the economic structure that Merc warfare would need. Do you? And LW's, what about them?

"No Bucks....No Buck Rogers."

Just trying to be the johnny appleseed of the MechWarrior franchise... Plant a tree (ideas, in this case) for the future generations to enjoy the fruit of as it grows... and I didn't write the tech writeup. Cray did all the source; the kudos are his.
