Fielded one variant. All the others incorporate tech that isn't currently available.
MAL-1K needs Snub-Nose PPCs and Light AC/5s
MAL-1PT5 is probably an Apocryphal variant, and more than likely the Linesman
MAL-2R has Ultra AC/2s and ER Medium Lasers
MAL-3R is the best bet, but still needs C3 units.
MAL-C also needs C3 computers.
The Linesman never had more than 5 built, 3 of which were destroyed. The Daboku did have more produced but were considered "both a laughing stock and a virtual death sentence for Kuritan pilots."
I don't think we'll be seeing the Mauler for a while. Even if they manage to add C3 variants or the Daboku, just having a 90 ton mech that can mount 4 AC/2s will be bad enough. The fact that it can then strip out the LRM15s to swap to AC/5s is going to be bad enough.
The only good thing about this design is that it comes stock with an XL Engine and Ferro-Fibrous. Granted, most people are going to strip out the FF for Endo-Steel and 3 extra tons of spare, but that still means limited upgrade potential. Oh, and the hard points for the Ballistics and the Missiles are all in the side torsos, so there will be limited space. You can't say go with dual AC/20s and bunches of SRMs. People will be able to go XLs with Gauss & PPCs though. Or quad-AC/2s or /5s with PPCs which seems to be all over the place these days.

This is one mech where the stock loadout would be a hell of a lot of fun.

But what if those pods disappear if you don't load missiles? The ballistic + energy combo possibilities are nearly gamebreaking under current rulesets.

Ironically, the stock load out is rather crappy in TT.
As for someone saying you couldn't mount AC20s and hordes of SRMs, there's enough crits in a side torso that you can mount an AC20 with 2 crits open. Depending on hardpoints, you are looking at 6 to 8 SRM tubes per side torso. The idea of 2 AC20s and 12 to 16 SRMs is rather daunting, that's the guy you peg at range with light ACs and LRMs.

You might have a point there...unless PGI does something like put 1 missile hard point per side torso, which will limit it to just a pair of SRM6s (...just a pair, man sometimes MWO is OP). If it's 2 per, yeah, this thing is really going to need sized hard points, it's just going to be WAY too strong a boating platform otherwise.

I don't have a problem with it. Hell, half of the bigger mechs in the game have a fairly anemic number of hard points.

Pretty sure there is a Zeus in there.
That said that ending always felt a bit silly, as I was always piloting the Kodiak by the end.

The Zeus gets wrecked within the brawl by missiles....before the mauler drops down
poor Zeus.... dies within the intro AND the outro

In MW:LL, they have the version with 4x UAC/2. So many Dakka (and better uac's in that game).
