I ask because I've noticed that every time the 2X bonus resets (which is usually once a day, but I've had days where I've gotten in twice), I get into at least a good 5 - 10 game losing streak, with the first 3-6 of them absolute steamrolls.

Then, after about an hour of constantly losing, the MM will suddenly take a ridiculously long time to find a match, at which point I start winning again.

This can't be coincidence that I have these mysteriously horrible losing streaks EVERY single time the bonus resets...

Anyone else notice this?

No, it's just a coincidence.

Would it helped if I collected concrete results for every day for the next 3 weeks?

If you'd like, but I doubt there's any correlation. I'm not saying it's your fault or I'm trying to troll you... I simply believe it's only a strange coincidence, possibly related to the time it occurs (8PM EDT) which is North America primetime for this game.

Collect the data, and see what turns up. Can't hurt.

It wouldn't be the first time their matchmaker was totally busted.

PGI's matchmaker runs on hate, pain, and the tears of PUG players.

When fewer people play, they need to crank up the anguish to keep it running at all.

IMO, this is what you are seeing.

Also, I think they have some sort of "seeding" algo that kicks in when to find your Elo faster after big moves... welcome to streak-town.

PS- They can also modify matchmaking on the fly, for what it's worth.

I don't really know. But, it looks like a lot of urban legends are starting to form with regard to the MM.

That only happens because of the lack of real information about it, especially the lack of visible Elo scores.

Lol also it's the weekend. Weekend play is like MM Hell. Compared to normal week play it is a wreck of imbalance. The good news is I hear there is a lobby type system coming not sure when but there is some whispers and I hope they are accurate.

If they showed Elo scores, people would just complain that their Elo has been artificially lowered by the broken match maker.

As to the OP, I haven't noticed the losing streaks you speak of. My play times straddle the reset time, so I often gets two shots at the bonus with several mechs.

Which just proves that some people will find an excuse to complain about anything.

As the OP describes I will say I see the same. It is more than weird how I can doo 500+ damage with every mech then just as suddenly I will have 20-25 losses with little damage. I assumed it was just because i was facing a storm of premades but maybe it is MM.

I know somedays I am off because of my disabilty but this is too random and seems to happen in one day then back again.

I'm just saying that I do not see what the OP does. I have just as many days that I start with a long win streak as a prolonged losing streak. On Saturday I won in 5 different mechs in 5 consecutive matches. It kind of refutes what he is saying and I was trying to state it as succinctly as possible.

I have not noticed any correlation to outside events in my win or lose streaks other than time of day and the actual day.

No...people will just say it's anecdotal evidence anyways.

I also see long losing streaks (usually >5 games) too when solo PUGing.

I trust the matchmaker about as much as I trust an Israeli lobbyist in a closed room with Obama.

I have better matches when I pug than when i group up. Why is that? Because the matchmaker, like every other feature coded by this company, is half-baked.
