Please speak for yourself sir. I have as much fun PUGging as I do with the Law... except I laugh more as a Lawman, cause we joke with each other. But if I get 600 damage and 4 kills it doesn't matter which side of the coin it happens on, I had a good game.

Oh, but Wintersdark commented, so all is ok.

Bad thread/topic is bad, anti-social neckbeards really need to find a group/faction. That is all.

I was much less jaded about the topic around the 30th time it was brought up. Now it's become tiresome as to become nauseating.
Soon will come the arguments about an integrated VoIP, solo queue, removal of groups, etc., etc., etc. and it will ALWAYS be the same people making the same arguments. Somewhere along the way, someone will resort to ad hominem and hyperbole, resulting in it being sent to K Town.

I think soloist (not to be confused with solo artist, because they wouldn't complain about puggin) think premades are always calling shots and tactics instead of the trash talking antics that usually go on.

Quote
WoT only allows group sizes of 2-3 in 16v16
WT allows groups of 4 in 16v16
MWO allows groups of 4 in 12v12
Groups have more of an influence on game outcome in MWO than in those other games. I personally think max group size in MWO needs to be lowered to 2-3 so its comparable to whats considered balanced in other games. No one should be denied the ability to play with their friends, but you should not be allowed to drastically alter the outcome of a match either.

Pugging is what you do for the first month or two (at most) to get an idea of the game and build up some mechs and a little bit of cash.
After that you should be getting on team-speak (comstar USA is a good starting point) and joining 4-mans and making some friends. From there you can choose to join a group and start doing 12-mans.
If you insist of playing by yourself then expect to never get very far.
MWO = online only, PVP only.
Teamwork = victory.

Scapegoat is Scapegoat
oops, almost forgot....
Teamwork is OP, it should be nerfed! Wait, what do you mean it was nerfed and you can only drop in 4 or 12 man groups now? Well uhm.... that's not good enough because I'm still getting beat a lot!

I think they should be raised to 6.
There are times when I'm playing against other good 4-mans and it basically comes down to who is given the better pugs.
4 is sometimes not enough to influence the battle if 8 tards rush single file at the enemy and won't listen to even the most basic commands.

Obviously team-play has inherent advantages such as communication / coordination but it's nothing that cannot be overcome.
PUG Play 101:
- Don't run off and play Rambo.
- Don't try to pilot Medium mechs like Heavies or Assaults...
- Do run with the pack... or at least glom onto a teammate (whether you two communicate or not).
- Don't attempt to CAP the furthest node a map with the slowest Assault...
- Push when the team pushes... not before or after.
- Focus Fire.
- If your ECM, stay with your team unless you are actually scouting and calling targets and locking them up for the LRMs.
- Know when to fall back and re-group... pressing a losing situation does not help your team.
In short... play like your a team, even if you're not.
Bad PUG players are victims of their own arrogance and ignorance... There are 103 different things a PUG player can do to bolster their team to victory. Dropping alligator tears in the forum is not one of them.
And before anyone accuses me of team-play bias... Let the record show I PUG exclusively, and successfully despite the deficits inherent in PUG play.
One is only a victim if they allow themselves to be one...
