They don't give a squat about MC or Mech scales in relationship to gameplay balance.
In their lair they have this big metrics doc that can track down and tell you ANYTHING that goes into the game. One way they track how mechs preform on the field is that they look and compare the hit rate % of all the locations compared to the others.
If they find that some Hit boxes are more bullet sponges then others, then its an issue worth looking into for them. The goal isn't to "nerf" anything, rather get the frames into a spot where they are seeing the hitboxes more evenly distribute shots across the mech model. All they are doing is refining the system to hopefully get a better "spread" of damage across the mech models. All the "XL junkies" would probably see this as a nerf given that some mechs take those engines better based on how easy it is to hit CT geometry, but I tend to disagree if if means that all that armor you put on your torso's actually gets used to block SOMETHING rather then just get instant cored in the CT while all your side torso armor is still bright yellow.

Would a developer please tell us why today's patchnotes on Jagermech hitboxes are the exact opposite of what Paul posted on the 19th, and clarify which is correct?

Today's patch notes say this:

"Jagermech (Pelvis area split for leg/CT distribution, more of the shoulder added to the arms)"
Today's patch notes say this:

"Shoulders have been adjusted so that a much smaller section of it applies to the arms."

There's still mechs to adjust, and still mechs that need customization upgrades.

It's been quite a few months since any mech hitbox adjustments have been made.
