you do have a point; though I think we still do have quite a bit of honey....in our wallets...waiting for these mechs....

Perhaps... Sticking with it though cause I'd have to remake the signature.

Thanks, I was strugging to find those in my current sleep deprived state

There are enough variants to bring these mechs to the game. The CRB - 30 is clutch because it adds ECM on a second medium.

I would like to point out that the Royal Griffin, and a variant of the Shadow hawk both had ECM available and we did not get them, both in timeline too...

I thought all Royal divisions left with Kerensky, so given they were only in Royal Divisions / Exodus fleet / Pentagon worlds, would IS even know about them?

They very well probably did. They just didn't have any to actually reference to or make, and then quickly lost any technology that could have been used to create those designs anyway...

ECM Crab isn't a royal unit design last I recall... It has a better chance of making it into the game.

Behold, the power of like 20 minutes with photoshop - the King Kamehameha Hero Mech

Given some more time I'd like to see if I could work a wave slash fleur de lis pattern along the major joints and especially along the big scalloped edges on the top.

The CRB-30 page rather clearly states, "Date Introduced: 3061" - as such, it would not be available for MWO.

However, the CRB-27sl (the non-Royal SLDF variant) should be available (or can be argued to be so as a result of the unlocking of the Helm Memory Core).

That gives the CRB-27, CRB-27sl, and CRB-20 as the available-as-of-3051 variants (as PGI seems to be avoiding/ignoring Royal variants (like the CRB-27b), and the next Crab variant in the BT timeline (the CRB-C) comes in 3056).

Could have probably gotten better results but outlining the whole... errr... outline, creating a separate layer above, and setting that layer to "multiply". Then proceed to color. It's usually faster, and then you don't get the white spots around the corners of the lines... :P

No. No. I'm not a Graphic Designer or anything... I don't know what you are talking about...

(Has degree in Graphic Design... honest...

(And, for the record, you still did a good job. Love the crown you gave it!)

Frankly 90% of the time was spent trying to remember how to use the Warp tool to contour the crown onto the chassis. The Son Goku homage color job was like 5 minutes with the pencil and magic wand. (The 'mech's name actually refers to King Kamehameha I, the Hawaiian king.)

I think on page one of this thread I noted that I took all the advanced equipment and replaced it with comparable 3050 IS equipment, call it a CRB 29 and make it an apocryphal variant.

Anyways with the 20, 27, & 27sl you'll have the 3 variants you'd need to make it MWO viable. Even without the 30 this is still a viable chassis.

The important part of adding the crab is the role it fills out in a meta game. Energy weapons, Low to the ground, Torpedo Body Shape, Guerrilla Fighter.

I think stock(CRB - 20), Increased engine cap(CRB - 27), & stock+jumpjets(CRB - 27sl) would be fine for 3 variants. I'd buy all 3 and love them.

The reason I wanted the 30 was the inclusion of ECM. I think more mechs need ECM, it's kind of an indictment against PGIs own implementation of the ECM that they haven't introduced more variants of it since the cicada(I think that was the most recent, it's been a while). I am flexible, if it can't happen for people even with 3050 normalized equipment then I'd be willing to let that go.

These mechs have a role and that role is currently under utilized in MWO. If you want to change the Meta you have to introduce viable alternatives and let it change organically over time otherwise you have people screaming "PGI killed MY META."

The KGC and CRB are good mechs for changing the meta.

The crab is an excellent "beam fighter" type 'Mech in my mind that'd make a great addition to this game!

I'd be more happy about the King Crab for it being another choice besides the Atlas for an 100-ton unit than anything else, adding a bit of variety, and I wouldn't complain about twin AC/20's or Gauss, the weaknesses involved with carrying those weapons would likely surprise some people.

I'd buy either the package mentioned in the OP, or a hero variant of the Crab.
