Also it'll have an XL275 or bigger so it'll be able to fit a decent sized engine.
Weapons would probably be 2UAC5 and 5 ML.

This.
Don't really care what they do with the Hunchie hero save for two things:
1. Fix the torso reticle problem. (For all Hunchies)
2. Retain Hunchie's torso twist and arm articulation stats.
Also, for the guy that suggested 2E in the head - there's only one available crit slot in the head, the second hardpoint would always be wasted. They could, for sake of interest, give it 1E/1M in the head - like the AWS-9M has slots that are either/or.

I'm def down with the introduction of the mortar. It desperately needs to be added to the game. Whether they'd implement it with the semi-guided munitions making it like a poor man's LRM or not, it would be a huge addition. Just think, it could actually make the Locust, Spider, and Cicada ballistic versions decent without needing to be in melee range. The horror!!!

Though the 4SP with two humps, as anything with a single hump is just too much an easy prey.
- HBK-5P Built for FWLM units in league with the Word of Blake, the 5P Hunchback is an upgrade on the Swayback 4P variant. The 'Mech carries six ER Medium Lasers and two Medium Pulse Lasers. Additionally, the 5P carries an ECM Suite as well as a C3 slave to share targeting telemetry with its lance mates. [12] BV (1.0) = 1,162[14], BV (2.0) = 1,340[13]

If they don't use an actual noteable pilot and hero, I want the Cicada's X-5 Prototype approach. "Engineers! Sit down and think, what could we try to do to make a super hunchback 4 series?"
Another idea I've thought of is left torso small missile launcher, right torso cannon housing. o.O;

Maybe a 4P with a ballistic in each arm? 6/7 MLas and 2 MGs. Wouldn't be great as stock, but characterful as hell, and great customisation options.

I'm still in favor of my mortar idea. *Zooms away to work!*

My guess would be a higher engine cap than other Hunchbacks. I can't see them making the hero totally non-ballistic (although I could easily be wrong on that) so I'll say ballistic hunch but some energy swapped for missile hardpoints instead.

Seems quite possible that they may just pull something weird out of the bag.

Something like 3E (RA/LA/HD), 1B (RT), 2M (LT)? That could be fun. Throw in an odd sized, slightly larger XL stock engine and call it a day (higher engine limit could be a significant selling point, I think).

Most of them. The YLW is the closest (trading a hatchet for an engine upgrade). The Boar's Head and Heavy Metal are loosely based off of lore mechs, and the rest are new creations.

actually, the Pretty Baby, FireBrand and Death's Knell are from the TRO 3025. The Dragonslayer is invented, but for a canon character, Arden Sortek. the Portector is for aleksandr Kerensky, and as close as available tech allows. THe Misery is the mech driven by Colonel Jamison of Wolfs Dragoons Zeta Battalion.
Most have loose descriptions, if any, in lore, but all those are "canon" mechs.

The YLW did NOT have a hatchet originally. For his fights on Solaris, Justin had reinforced "fingernails" in Capellan fashion. Totally unnoticeable.
If you want the hatchet version, you also need to wait till 3120. No thank you, I like the YLW as she is now. Just give melee so I can punch sh*t.
