Yeah.... I can pretty much agree with most of whats been said in regards to the actual fire selected group feature(less so with the personal attacks and other bs...) I've been firing selected group since MW2, and suplementing that with fire group X when it was available. It's just natural Having to feel around for the button groups gets awkward, and most of my missfires happens when I try to fire by group keys(i'll unload LRM at point blank and over heat or fire mediums at a target 1100 out) But with the group indicator on my reticule and my fire selected I always know what I'm going to shoot.
Also I know at least 2 or 3 guys who use joysticks, they live and die with them, will never use the M+K... What about them?
It's not just a feature that's been in mechwarrior since it's inception, it's been in every simulated game that let you customize the weapon loadout as far as I can recall, like privateer, wing commander, like every space shooter since X-wing...
I don't know about making the game console ready, as it would seem to be more awkward to map 6 weapon groups to the 4 trigger buttons plus the 4 face button and 2 stick buttons that seems to be the standard, in addition to the other stuff you have to do like radar, override, heat/night vision, modules ect but maybe they want us remapping the weapons to group one on the fly? Maybe they have a deal with Razer to sell gaming mice with tons of buttons? I have no clue... I get there might have been some confusion about M1 being fire selected for newbies who didn't understand their weapons groups but a simple tutorial would fix that...
Unfortunately I'm starting to expect this kind of out of nowhere, obtuse policy stuff when it comes to implementing features... IE 3pv, the spin up gauss nerf, the ghost heat, and now this... I'm not that active in the forums and community I suppose, I'm here to play the game not troll forums, but was this ever an issue? I never heard of it in game...
