edit: Apparently I was wrong, my apologies. I read the patch notes wrong and made that post based on other posters saying it's rebindable. My mistake.

When you fix it, the fixed issue now seems like a bug...

So rebind space to whatever group you were using it as? That seems like an easy fix.

It's gone, period. Go look at the screenshot taken here: http://mwomercs.com/...35#entry2896335
Also my apologies for calling you idiotic when you weren't able to check this on your own first.

No, they can't. The option he had it bound to no longer exists. His 3-button setup has been removed from game forcing him to a setup that is foriegn to him, and he is far from alone. I'm not sure if crosslinking threads to this one is allowed so all I wil say is that this is one of three on this subject going right now that I am watching.

It used to be easy for me to assign weapongroups and then swich between the grups using the thumbbuttons on the side of my mouse and fire the highligted (selected group) with the left mouse button.
Was this intenitional? And if so why? Or was it just a misshap with the patch as some people in this thread seem to indicate.

But I don't understand why they just decided to remove the option to cycle trough your weapon groups and fire the active one with a particular button.
Also, for some posters it would be advisable to get their facts straight before they start calling others idiots 'cause, y'know, it can backfire on you...

Unless, your moving the active weapon group around to fire, which then...I am sorry.
But why would you be playing that way in the first place, just to ask?

2) Ignoring #1, I still don't really see a reason for why the original binding was removed. Given that, presumably, at least one guy used it, it really should have been left in. Perhaps don't make it auto bound to mouse button one, but at least give folks the option to bind it to something if they want.

Clearly they are to be pitied not reviled.

Ironic bit is, you guys are the idiots here. FACT - the option was REMOVED, it is no longer THERE, it no longer EXISTS, PERIOD. If you morons had your facts straight, if you had taken a few seconds to go look for it in options, you would not appear as idiotic as PGI does for having taken it out.
I have to admit I was wrong, and apologize. I was unable to check this myself until just now and there is NO option to fire selected weapon group.
My apologies, the patch notes clearly stated.

- Removed the key binding option "Fire Selected Weapon Group". Mouse 1's (Left Click) default key bind is now "Fire Weapon Group 1", this can be remapped in the options screen.
And took it to assume that this mean it was something that could be remapped.
Being part of the underhive that uses a joystick, I'm not going to have to rebuild EVERY mech as switching through weapon groups has now become pointless to have a "trigger".
PGI, fail concept is fail.

I liked the key binding because it made playing the game comfortable. I don't have great typing skills so I don't know where all the keys are. That key binding made it so I didn't have to look away from the screen to fire a weapon. You don't have to mean. I wasn't calling PGI stupid. The things they do, are sometimes. Such a nice community here at MWO.

Yes. that's the whole point. That was the playstyle they just flushed down the toilet.

<sigh>...
Really? You have to ask? Do you have to ask everyone about everything they do diferently from you? Do you? Seriously? Or maybe you ackowledge not everyone is the same as you? Or perhaps are at least AWARE of that... although, since you "have to ask" maybe you don't.
Just saying.

Apologies for calling you stupid. I retract my comment as well.

Golden Rule, Dago. If they revile others, then they themselves wish to be reviled and that is how I shall treat them. If they don't, I don't, etc.

I am fairly certain that is the point of why this change is affecting some players - they have to change your playstyle because the control scheme was irreversibly altered.

This is clearly a thought that PGI didn't take all the way down the road to the stop-sign.

Heck, I don't even remember the "vocal minority" advocating for its removal. At best, changing the default would have been a suggestion I would make, but I'd still keep the old option there anyhow. Then again, I wouldn't really bother suggesting any changes for this in the first place.

I guess it doesn't matter one way or another...just figure I would ask because it's extremely confusing to me that someone would actually play that way.
Either way...
