Not holding my breath, but sure would be nice to take the cats out for a walk without having to be ashamed of their malformed ears...

That's the one good thing about my founder C1: It only has a single missile hardpoint in each arm, so I can run it without it looking cancerous.

, we can see the new direction PGI are going with missiles. Would the people here be happy with:
A1 cat gets 3x of these new missile boxes side-by-side, taking up the same space as current box (all with scaled missile door)
C4 cat gets 2x of these, also side by side, for same space as old smaller missile box, again with a scaled missile door
C1 cat gets just 1 of these, but gets it mounted on it's side, for a slimline profile.
K2 gets PPC scaled to match Banshee PPC, and appropriate PPC quirks to cooling. Trade-off = NO Ballistic quirks.
Thoughts?
That would be great, but I'm very skeptical about PGI doing the missile doors. It's apparently lostech now. I don't think they'll do missile doors for the Stalker when they get around to updating it. Which leaves the Catapult as the only mech with missile doors, I think. They may just do like they did with the Centurion.
Anyone who's wildly optimistic about the CPLT fix are setting themselves up for disappointment

Goldenboy still has ct doors, it looks like someone doing duck mouth. I will be very sad if they Catapult the Stalker.

Prepare to be disappointed. The "variable geometry" system is an abject failure and more often than not completely ruins the very, very beautiful 'mech models it gets applied to.
Personally, I fear the day my beloved Commandos gets their turn in Dr. FrankenMech's chair

On the other hand, looking at the Zeus missile arm, it can be really awesome when done right.

But it use to have the smaller box launches that looked far better. Bigger ears equals a nerf in game play as well. I remember thinking, why in the heck do I have to haul around those "Here I am, shoot me!" ears with only two streak tubes in each. It couldn't get worse. But then some idiots(s) at PGI thought we needed even larger 20 tube boxes, plus extra VCRs to haul around. Yep, those guys at PGI must have been on drugs to think this one up. As I said at the beginning, Major Fail!

the system ain't the problem. the problem is they try too hard to avoid making multiple items share the same "living space" which in the case of missile tubes is like giving each elephant in the zoo their own savanna exhibit. this is more a case of PGI's fantastic ability to convince themselves they haven't screwed up royal.

The Stalker won't look too bad. Stalker pilots can thank the Catapult crowd for that one. I just think that the Catapult will be made to suffer a lot longer if not for the remainder of the game .

I find your show of faith disturbing...
