You had to make me go check, didn't you?
If anyone wonders, this thread is 797 days old today. 2 years, 2 months, and 6 days of the horrendous-looking "variable geometry" Catapult.
At least they say the end is in sight now, but with that kind of development pace, I'm not going to hold my breath it'll be here before summer.

Well....I hope so anyway. They are looking at it now, but no commitment to an ETA. It might take another 10+ months to happen lol.
Realistically, if we are seeing this now, I'm hoping that it happens in less than 2 months.

Well, with the visibility this has gotten and the communication we are seeing now, I'm hopeful we'll see some sneak peeks at some point. Maybe reaffirm our hopes and dreams or give us a chance to say "Hey, wait a minute!"

I fear we are going to have to expect the lasers to be the new norm. I truly hope to be wrong, but I have doubts to the cat lasers getting special treatment.

Farther out than I hoped, but still ok IMO. I'm just happy it is getting some good treatment.

Working on it right now, hope you guys like the visual update and re-scale.
Do you know if we'll be losing the old walking animation at all?
Even though the catapult's scale was out, it has the best walking animation of any other mech to date.
I'd really be sad to see that go..
Edit: hey, also really nice to see devs posting here . there can't be enough teal posts, so thanks
Looking forward to the updated model for sure. Even if we lose the old animation with the re-work, I'm getting excited for the updated look! Make it stellar!

Mhm, it easily has the best chicken legged animation of any mech.

Ah yes, agreed best chicken legged animation. There are some pretty swank humanoid animations too.
My favorite humanoid remains to be the Atlas. It's just excellent. Good amount of butt-swagger too.

It seems we think alike, because i also feel that Atlas has absolutely stellar animation work.
In my opinion, more mechs should have the noticeable waist movement while moving like the Atlas.
(Also, Panther is probably the best animated humanoid Light mech)

Great to know Cats are getting the attention they deserve. Any chance you are disguising the boxy laser housings in the sweet oblong hexagons we all love so much?

Yea, that would be pretty crappy if the hexagonal lasers were somehow distorted for the square laser housings .

I am expecting and preparing myself for the standardized squared housings. I truly hope to be wrong and happily surprised. Either way it will be grand to have a somewhat smaller frame and the missile firmly planted back inside their housings. Bonus points if they turn around and make the jump jets worth the tonnage I spend on them.

And yeah, I too would probably dislike if they removed some of the unique chassi-specific weapon geometry for the standardized "black box" that so many mechs use. I can understand the reduction in resource usage but sometimes you just shouldn't cut corners.
