are you insane. ;)
I will sell my account in the moment the Warhammer IIC made it into the game. :o

that thing is my personal menace - when ever i faced that thing in TT it ripped my troops into pieces...even making it primary target for all units wasn't helpful to prevent serious damage.

5 mechs in the first battle
5 mechs in the second battle
3 mechs in the third battle
(now it became primary target)
and still it was an unstopable death machine - not a single battle without kill

(after the 10th battle or so I've sworn to use tactical nukes when ever a opponent want to use a Whammy IIC

With requirements of MWO: Panther, Mercury, Black Knight, Flashman, Crab, & King Crab

Can't get behind the Panther. Love it in TT. In MWO? Humanoid, 35 tons? Probably be close to the size of a Blackjack, likely won't be able to break 100 kph, and hard points? the 8Z, 9R, and 10K all consist of 1 energy weapon on the right arm with a single CT mounted missile. 3 and 1, 2 and 2, and maybe some combination of 2 and 1 with a second AMS point?

Nah, I don't think it will work.

If it's the size of a Spider (which is a 'massive' 5 tons lighter) it will be fine. People run 10K and 9R Panther builds on Jenners with good results. They also already broke the 1.5xStock engine rule for Commandos so a 100 kph cap is... unlikely. Even a 250 XL in it should be just fine if you play smart. And even the hard points issue is... complex. Since it's primary weapon is a PPC in the arm it is quite likely we would get versions with 2 energy hard points instead of just one or even 2 CT missile hard points (for interesting 2xSSRM2 goodness).

It would be a mix of Spider and Jenner, which are both solid lights (The Jenner F being considered the single best light in the game). Though could play more like a Raven with dual LL (Or PPC) and SSRMs.

So I think it could find a nice place even if it is not the 'meta mech' that most seek for MWO.

I love my Warhammer IICs... :P
It's alot like a Battlemaster that uses MPLs rather than MLs and a pair of PPCs instead of a single one, keeps the SRM6 and loses the MGs...

It's better in TT than it would be in MWO though. In MWO it's likely to run as hot as an Awesome...

Why would you expect anyone to research the legal history of this game in order to respond to a poll?

The poll listed other 'unseen' mechs that were supposedly forbidden like the Marauder and Warhammer. I don't know why the Rifleman would be any different... and more importantly, I don't now why that is a big deal to you.

That depends on the art used. All those are now 'Reseen' using art that does not infringe. HG cannot simply sue because artwork used by the design with that name in the past had the same name as the design now with different art. Well... They can sue, but the likely hood of the case being thrown out of court within 15 minutes is extremely astronomically high.

My Top 4 mech choices and why:
1. Banshee - We seriously need a 95-ton mech right now since the light mech tonnage has been filled.
2. Zeus - Because I'm Steiner and we need more faction mechs to give each house a unique style of mechs once CW comes.
3. Hatamoto Chi - Kurita-iconic mech, same reason for Zeus.
4. Annihilator - I haven't piloted this mech since MW2-MW4, it would be great to see it in action again.

Because it's been said in so many threads but people just keep mentioning it. Sure you can dream if you want. But why even bother brining it up. And I only hit upon the Rifleman one because it was the most recent thread. Yes, include the Warhammer, Marauder, Longbow, Archer, Rifleman, Phoenix Hawk, Ost series, and whatever else HG still holds in their grubby hands.

If someone on here asks about those mechs it's safe for you to assume that they haven't read any of those threads, so you don't need to ask why they are asking.

The answer is: Because they don't know.

Right, so if the poll includes the Warhammer, Maruader, etc... why would you get upset when someone asks about the Rifleman?

Please dont lump my thread together with any post that mentions an unseen mech.
I see this clearly as an insult.
e.g. you can see that I am aware of the issues as I clearly marked all unseen in the poll and if you wish you can
look up which are the favorite seen (or nonunseen?)

This is a thread for BT fans and the question is not: "Which mech do you expect next?" or "Which mech should PGI implement next?" (as we all know PGI does not really care which mechs we want to have)

The question is "Which mech would YOU like to add to the game?" and this of course includes every mech build until 3051 IMHO. And it is in deed interesting how the unseen have taken the lead.

My personal favorites are still mostly "nonunseen" mechs like Hollander, Panther, Crab, Hatamoto, Mauler, Cyclops
Although I think it is theoretically possible to create a new design without legal issues for the Marauder. I guess that it is mainly due to HG beeing a crazy company with more laywers than other employees that PGI is in fear of beeing sued anyhow. I could imagine that they believe to hold the patents on any mech with two legs and all designs which names start with a capital 'M'.

Due to popular request I added:

Rifleman (unseen!) (60t)
Crusader (unseen!) (65t)
Hammerhands (75t)
Black Knight (75t)

Although I have to ask: What good is a Rifleman if you can have a JagerMech?
