This is the muzzle flare from an actual machinegun:

I think somewhere along the lines you developed them but then they got accidentally placed on the wrong weapons.
Thank you

In all seriousness, I totally agree, MG's are blinding in a Shadow Hawk.

"A couple" is a bit overstating it; 3050 - 2013 = 1037.
And the MWO MG feels more like this than the GAU-8:

Edit: How the f*** do you get the media to embed in edit mode? Is it even possible?
Edit2: Fsck it. Just click the link to see an awesome .22LR steampunk gatling firing. Put-put-put-put

This is also the actual muzzle flash from an actual tank (an M1A1 firing a M256 120mm gun):
Going by the AC/10 and LB 10-X (typically 80mm to 100mm weapons, as far as BT is concerned) on my Centurions, IMO the class-10 ACs' muzzle flashes seem to be about right.

Guy in the video: "yeah it weighs about 60 pounds" *easily picks it up with one hand*
Seems legit
Unless he said 16, lol and yeah machine guns are pretty weak they should have 2 DPS but shouldn't do that stupid extra damage to internals they put in

As MGs in BT tend to be in the 17mm to 22mm range (see here and here), they're arguably much closer to the M61 (6-barrel 20mm rotary cannon upon which the Phalanx CIWS is based) & the M39 (single-barrel 20mm revolver cannon) than they are to the GAU-8, while the likes of the GAU-8 & the GSh-6-30 (both being multi-barrel 30mm rotary cannons) would be better represented in BT by the RAC/2.
Forests and trees
All I was showing was that there ARE high volume fire weapons that don't have huge flash! like the ones in the OP. An was that MG in the OP firing tracers? Cause I don't remember the M-60s or my S.A.W. flashing like that!

Here's a better example: (It is hard to find pictures of very large non-rotary machineguns like SAW's being fired so here is a very short video)
Which is NOT AT ALL THIS: (lols, even - no weapon that did this would EVER be considered field-acceptable!)

There's a lot more knowledge as far as real-world stuff here than I know for sure. And that is a cool picture of a tank.
Whoever is saying what here - my original point was that the muzzle flare on machineguns in this game is way, way out of line.

That's a pretty normal distribution of tracer rounds; every 3-5th. Although it makes a pretty light show if you go with a higher ratio (1:1 or 1:2). But remember: Tracers work both ways!
Only problem is cleaning the damn thing afterwards, tracers make one hell of a mess.
