Or maybe you should pilot something other than an assault. Nerfing a weapon because an assault isn't fast or short enough to avoid them is pretty silly logic.

This really surprises you?

I've noticed a few things

A good majority of the "nerf" threads come from 12 mans
A good portion of the "c-bill/economy" threads come from new players and a select few "vets"
A good portion of the "remove" threads come from players that got owned by something
A good portion of the "(insert latest bandwagon here)" threads come from trolls and that select few mentioned earlier

Moral of the story? Adapt your tactics. Improvise new tactics. Overcome the enemy.

LRMs aren't "op"
ECM isn't "op"
99.999999% of the game doesn't "need to be" removed for "balance"
The "grind" isn't too much
Poptarting isn't "op"
Energy boats are far from "useless" (Just ask the 3 kills 5 assists, 843 damage Stalker I helped crush a team with a few mins ago)

How do I know all of those above statements to be true? Well because I have personally disproven each and every one of them. Not by typing this all out. Not by moaning and groaning on the forums (please note, there's a huge difference between "waaaaaah, I got killed cuz my 1337 skillz were overcome by some boogey monster" and "Hey PGI, this is a bit unbalanced because when player A shoots an LRM20 they all target me head") but by dropping in games and deliberately going out of my way to beat every single "op" and use every single "up" feature in the game.

Successfully.
That? That's truth. That's data. That's unbiased statistical data.

Do we see the difference people?

Its ok so long as there is an equal amount on both teams, then its one teams fault if they cant counter. You have to admit massed ECM is a bit suspect.

Yes it is. I beleive the idea of the grind is to make you buy mc and convert xp. If there comes a point where the grind makes you stop playing rather than pay more then the grind is too much. Not only this but if you take your half unlocked mech into a game your grind impacts on 11 other players... The grind is real fail imo and needs replacing with sometihng else or even removing. Why do we need to level up 3 chassis anyway? I have said on the forum before that i would have bought a hero mech but for the fact i would also have to buy 2 more bays and then grind those 3 chassis up before i even get the hero i payed for. I kept my money in my pocket on that occasion, the grid is even too much for PGI from that point of view.

LRMs are already useless weapons unless you plan, as a team, to run four chassis with 40-60 missile volleys apiece.

Then they can be somewhat effective if everyone is coordinated and has a decent idea of what they are doing.

wrong, the flood is a Cat A1 with 6 LRM 5'S. 10's and 15's over heat the mech too quickly to adequately 'flood'. So I'm guessing you're a jump sniper and don't care for the only response to the jump sniping that is killing the game rapidly? If you stand very very close to some structures you take splash dmg... or maybe the LRMs just bug their way thru. Either way a step back fixes it

Know issue that will be fixed. Enrique from PGI got plastered during Alpine about a month ago so its on the list of things to fix.

Your going see probably:
Longer reload time
Reduction of the missile curve angle
Reduction of the curve angle when a Light has a target lock on you.
Increased spread pattern during indirect fire
Powering down will only has a 50% percent chance of breaking the missile lock in short the missiles might remember were you are..

This will bring short to medium cover back into play LRM will need more direct line of sight to do any real damage. Powering down will not be a abused way of breaking a LRM lock.


I posted this vid before in LRM post because it gives you a good example of how broken the missile mechanics have gotten.

I had to chuckle at this response...even though I'm in the same "group"...for the record, though, I don't have millions upon millions of C-bills floating around, nor do I have all my 'mechs kitted out with 3 and 4 modules each. I have 1 target decay and 1 seismic sensor and 1 improved gyro.

i also have improved Gyro and guess what, it has no effect on lrms.

Never mind that up until the PP sale I had no extra mechs, hadn't used any of my premium time (still haven't by the way), and played through the exact same way a free player would have. Oh and I still have all my founder MC. So tell me again oh great and powerful Oz, just how does the fact that I'm a founder change the fact that I played as any other free player because I didn't use any of the bonuses I got as a founder? Please tell me more.

I'd expect this kind of response from an ignorant assumption though. LOL I bet you would sing a different tune if you didn't assume you know everyting about another player simply because they have forum badges. Just sayin :D
