Now the ballistic guns are ower powered, so its good choice for newbie. You should buy like a first mech some Cataphrack, or Catapult K2, or Jager (I dont have any jager but I heard they are good) At all, I think heavy mechs are the best for begin.

My first was K2, then spider-5D, and then stalker-Misery (I wanted some different mechs, its the best for learning what about its each class) If you know it you can fight agains it :)

I'd recommend getting the biggest and most expensive mech you can afford because you're never really going to see that kind of money again.

So after training a few new pilots and getting asked about certain mechs a lot i decided to go ahead and make it a video.
So for all you new pilots here's something to check out before you make that big purchase.

Obviously i can't please everyone and personal preferences will come into play none the less i hope this can be of resource to someone looking to buy their first or next mech.

Also if you guys could help me out with that like and subscribe button that would be cool too.
Just saying, this took a good chunk of time to make.

Thanks guys

It's the most difficult question in the game and depends entirely what you like to play.

I would recommend a heavy though.

The one we recommended to our guy the other day was a Jager DD.

Edit: Mediums are awful first mech choices. Low speed; low evasion. Low armor. Big size. Mediums should only be in skilled hands.

I dunno if I'd say that mediums are awful first choices. Most mediums work well with STD engines, and are fairly decent with only minor modifications. I know that by the time my Catapults were competitive, I'd nearly doubled their cost.

If you have a large chunk of change to make modifications right off the back, heavies can be good options. But I'd hesitate to use any of them near stock.

Mediums are great first choices. Really your best options are the Shadow Hawk and Centurion; the Shadow Hawk is a better, more diverse 'mech the Centurion is far easier to setup and drive with it's very forgiving durability.

Personally I'd recommend people if I had to pick just one starting 'mech to Shadow Hawks. They aren't all that expensive, they fill every role in the game except energy boat (which is terrible anyway thanks to Ghost Heat), and are just all around absolutely great 'mechs at the lowest to very highest ELO.

So if i may ask are there any other things people would like to know? What mech to buy first was a given. I take a lot of things for granted because i already got the concept. Any feedback to this question would be much appreciated. ;) and if its something i can do ill make a video about it.

Lights and mediums have highest skill sealing(sealing?! sounds like clubbing seals).

You take a light or a medium, well suit yourself.

Just get a Victor 9B or 9S, okay? Nice all around mech. No, dont you buy that Hunchie!

There are so many mech now in this game that you can have any atributes you want, from all Missiles to all Lasers to all Ballistics and anything in between. Just watch for tonnage and Jump Jets when you buy, more tonnage=more firepower and flexibility.

Ceiling?

Shadowhawk is all-rounder, too. Cheaper, smaller, faster...

Best to stick with the Trial mechs at first, find a playstyle you like, and go from there.

Yes thank you. I second the Shawk! If you are getting a medium get Shawk.

Kintaro GB has served me very very well too, But i dont dare to recomend it because allot of ppl dont like it.

If you like the GB just try running a KTO-18. It'll do everything the GB does, and much better.

Another of the rare times I will agree unreservedly with VM. KTO-18 = better light hunter, streak boat, and free.

I recommend start from any meduim (except Centurion), or fast heavy.
Hunchback, maybe, one of the simplest to piloting

get a hunchback 4H with an AC20 and 3 tons of ammo and a big standard engine. that mech is a no-brainer. all you have to have is a little patience, the knowledge what forward and reverse means where to find the trigger. boom. you will have your first kill very soon. enjoy!

It all starts with adjusting the sensitivity of your mouse/joystick. Took me a little bit to figure out how to keep my reticule from sprinting across the horizon when I only wanted to move it the width of the reticule itself. After that it was pretty much cakewalk from there.

My first choice was the Centurion because of the versatility of it. Not very fast but not too slow. Decent armor and weapon choices. They do run hot if you're not careful but it's a great way to learn how to pace yourself when in the heat of battle or just trying to snipe the hell out of your opponents.

They're nice as a support mech when paired up with an assault/heavy.

And ultimately it's good to stick with the types of weapons you like to use but also good to train yourself when you get the chance on weapons you're not used to. If you're a horrible shot at close range, do not go for SRM/NARC at first. Small lasers are nice, Medium lasers are better and Large lasers are great but you have to watch your team 'cause you'll hit them too if you miss your intended target.

I think this is one of those things a lot of new players overlook - tweaking their controls. I enjoyed the game when I first downloaded it, but it wasn't until I tweaked my current joystick + mouse setup that I really started to get into it. I'm thinking of upgrading my mouse so that I can start to get even more out of my mech. There are some of the secondary controls that I still need to reach to the keyboard for, and if I can get them all under my hands I'll be much happier.

Started out with a Jenner (JR7-F) and liked it well enough. The K and D quickly followed for elited skills, but if I were to start all over I'd have gone for a Jagermech. Excellent dmg, ok speed, some armour and easy to line up shots with. Grinding C-bills with the Jenners, as a new player was... Slow

Muromets was my second, and I still love the ****** :D

tl;dr : Go for a Jager, shoot stuff and have fun :D

It's not just the cost of the 'Mech: It's the mods

Mediums with standard engines seems the way to go.

a large missle boat will make Cbills at a fair rate, but running it in puggers takes some getting your head around.
